Love these videos and hope you make more. Also personally I tend to avoid replacing any brass components you get in aftermarket kits. Usually there is nothing wrong with old brass even if it’s stained dark, they just need a clean up. The original Honda brass is machined with super high tolerances and aftermarket kits aren’t (I’m looking at you keyster). You can do more harm than good swopping the jets, emulsifier tube and needle. Of course if there is severe pitting or actual damage then replace them for sure, but try and find Honda rebuild kits, but they are hard to find.
I really dig the editing, music and overall calmness of this video. A lot of other motorcycle videos are all rock and roll and loud and in your face. This is relaxing and refreshing I mean, you’re wearing a collared shirt for godsakes.
Appreciate the video as I haven't any other on the 3 wire and ring connector. A longer video on all the connections and ground placements within the switch housing would be awesome.
@CognitoMotoTV Thanks so much for the fast reply!! I bought a motogadget wre bundle but it's all larger wire. The wires that go from the button out the center of the handlebars are same size as the 3 wires you just mentioned. Right? Thanks again!
i don't know who you think your bull-shit,en but them ain't no carbs off no 550, them are keyhole carbs and came on 77--78 cb750's,, title of this vid is wrong,,.... good bye...
This is amazingly educational and funny which is the best kind of learning. "I got a long shaft" lolol. I'm also going to guess you're one of the engineers doing this in a dress shirt and what looks to be after hours to shoot. I'm also an engineer, so I get it :)
I understand what you're saying. The oil will accumulate because the breather acts like a one-way valve. It must pool and flow back when it opens, or perhaps it seeps back in due to it not being a perfect seal. I have not had any issues with this setup.
My solex carbs on my 68 912 caught fire. Almost burned the garage down. I’ll revisit this upgrade once I get an another. I ended up buying a 911 t motor I think for it. Sold the damaged 912 motor to a vw mechanic. I don’t know what I was thinking. But hey as a 25 year old what do you expect. Great car you got! If you hear of another reach out. I sure miss the early 912
Lot of work and looks like it worked out. I solved most of my hot carb issues with phenolic spacers and shielding metal fuel lines. Beyond that you could pop the trunk at gas stops or even some mini efans. With Mopar you get a slow starter so a $30 pass through priming pump can help with quicker starts. A return fuel line to the tank can also help with vapor lock but with a dual carb that might not be fun.
A bit late to the party. Amazing wire work. I'm doing my m unit blue and just want to know what size AWG wire do you use. Is the input Wires the same size AWG as the outputs? Thanks
Looks awesome job where did u got the plug and all cables is it m.cable? I would like to buy the whole wiring set I already have the mUnit but I want to buy all the plug u had and cable needles pin female and male. Please advise thank you.
Hey I just purchased 06/07 gsxr 600 forks for my k100. What should I be running for my “desired offset” on the tree conversion when ordering from your site? I don’t want to have to move the take from the original location like I’ve seen a few others do.
@@CognitoMotoTV thanks for your answer! I was wondering about those grounds cause I don’t see them in your video. Did you separate them? (One for the handle bar switches, one common for the brakes, speedo, and neutral switch, etc etc…) I wondered if it would be convenient to have a kind of « ground bus » where every ground would connect with a nice connection to the frame for example. Thanks again for your answer and awesome vids!
Excellent video!! Love the fog lights! Your car is cooler than a 911, but the missing Porsche chrome flat dish hubcaps make it look like a work of art without a frame, or maybe it has the frame but not the matting...? I'm trying to say something is missing, unless you were going for an unfinished look?
I was lucky to buy one of these a long time ago a red 67. I would have preferred a 911 for sure- but I had just left college and everything seemed expensive to me 😂 . Now I have a nice set of nickies ready for it. The EFI would be a sweet upgrade. Nice car man.
@@CognitoMotoTV right I do see that but there is no h4 connecter, would I have to connect the loose wires to a h4 connector and then connect that to the main bulb harness?
Brilliant job. I'm from the UK and have a 1968 Right Hand Drive 912. Bought it when I was 25 and I'm now 60. Like you, I started out with the Solex carbs and moved to Twin 40 Weber's, second hand off of an Alfa Sud. No money at the time, so you did what you had to do. My car still runs the Dynamo and Regulator. The car is lowered and had been modified before I bought it, to fiberglass front wings, impact bumpers and rear wheel arch extensions. It runs 205 tires all round on early Fondmetal alloys. Love the car and would never sell it. I will take it to the grave and my daughter will drive it home from there.
