I drove one of these, "The Delta Queen" back and forth from McMurdo Station to Wilcon / Willy Field III in 1984-85 and 1985-86. Actually I learned to drive on it, being an NYC kid, we don't tend to drive. It was a great job.

looks like they built a shell to drop on a tractor that drive in reverse. the whole point of this prototype was to prove the wheel design so i wouldn't be shocked if its literally a Ford tractor just driven backwards

Man memories! They used many of them in Puerto Rico during the sugar cane industry! I remember as a kid I used to go with friends to the field just to watch them work! Those are my favorite tractors! I like them so much that I have replicas of them in die cast 1/16 scale!👌😎👍

Вся техника только гусеничная или колёсная, но в последние дни СССР нами был создан "СПИРАЛЕХОД" за основу был взят "шнекоход" В техзадании было--безшумный который мог двигаться по камням после схода лавины, (селя-сель) задание мы выполнили, приёмная комиссия (заказчик) осталась довольны... прошло 30 лет, гриф секретности снят, я сделал патент.. учёл недостатки.. добавил новшества, грузоподъёмность можно поднять до 100 тонн и наверно выше... скорость? Зависит от оборотов двигателя... жду предложений в личке

My grandpa got a military like that. It’s a pretty nice ones. It drives like brand new.

Development to me, is build, test and fix. The 2003 aluminum amphibious vehicle was the first of its kind. Many mistakes; the articulation, the road wheels, the tracks in water, cavitation and very little thrust. Look at the Iguana Amphibious Truck on RU-vid. It is still far from perfect but "fine wine takes time" The car you are driving took over 100 years to develop. Unlike ripsaw, the Iguana just keeps getting better. Dave
