Dr. Armin Trost is a professor for HRM. In 2013 the leading german HR journal Personalmagazin ranked him among the top thought leaders in HR for the fourth time in a row. He's the author and editor of multiple books and many articles around modern HR and a regular author at Harvard Business Manager. He is a well known keynote-speaker on leading congresses about HR and leadership.
Listening to this I'm identifying bias and discrimination in this presentation. Job fairs are for ALL types of people who are able and capable of doing the job you're recruiting for. A "50 year old Gardner who decides he wants to be a software developer" So what's wrong with a 50 yr old Gardner who went back to school to learn a new skill or trade being 50 isn't a hindrance and you're never too old to reinvent yourself. A recruiter should always refrain from hiring bias. Unemployed and desperate people are a part of the reasons we have job fairs, so we can hire good employees who were probably overlooked and let go from other companies for whatever reasons.
