Life Remodeled brings communities and organizations together to help revitalize Detroit neighborhoods in an equitable and sustainable way. With substantial investments of cash, labor and materials, Life Remodeled focuses on the intentional and equitable revitalization of Detroit neighborhoods distinguished by their significant need and radical hope. Throughout the process of unifying for a common mission, participants begin to realize how much they respect and need each other, which is a catalyst for long-term relationships and partnerships. Projects are determined by the community’s needs and visions and we assist in three areas: renovating and repurposing former community assets into opportunity hubs, repairing owner-occupied homes, and annually mobilizing thousands of volunteers in six days to beautify the four square miles surrounding our current opportunity hub.

They don't even know what opportunities they want to put in the opportunity zones!! How long are Black people going to continue scamming the Black community? Everybody knows this is nothing but a money laudering operation just like EVERY so called "up lift" program. Black people are the only people who use poverty as an opportunity to scam the community, scam the government, and investors with the same results. In 2 years they will do an audit and we'll find out these two THOT's will have skimmed thousands of dollars off the top for their own bank accounts. These programs should not be allowed to operate without complete oversight from independent sources. Black people are tired of being grifted by these poverty pimps!

When I started this program I could tell the moment I walk through those doors that I wasn’t going to leave without accomplishing a few goals getting myself together mentally physically emotionally spiritually everything I needed was there the brotherhood the mentoring ship just someone to get you motivated suffering from anxiety depression the excitement from the basketball games exercise help with my anxiety and it’s kind of hard to be depressed in the presence of Dongelo Moore his energy speaks for itself. I love Dongelo Moore & The Better Men Out Reach program not only has he done so much for the communities in Detroit but he has help young men & women find their true selves This program is the most effective out of Detroit people come here to better themselves rather it be a Job school or legal Help the Bmo program is a great outlet for young adults to open up and communicate effectively Don is Bmo. BMO IS DON from the struggles of a young black men growing up in Detroit Don knows the pressure of having the world On his shoulders searching for the right help with prostitutes in drug attic’s on every corner of every liquor store him and a childhood friend created The Better Men Outreach Program and with 12 years of success the program is still Blooming in effect young men and women from all areas of Detroit Michigan enjoy coming to this program and becoming a better version of their self Keep up the great work I can’t wait to see what more Is in store💪🏾😎
Should have known DPS would pull something like this. The sad part is, every school that I attended is sitting vacant or was demolished. They talk about building neighborhoods up, who are they trying to attract? Not a family with children! You'd think they would want to see something positive happening within the community. If it's torn down, they won't do anything with that land. JUST TERRIBLE!
The building has been an eyesore in the community for years. Now the School system wants to be greedy. Ignoring all of the other vacant schools like Post Middle school that has been vacant as well. Their Greed will destroy the City. Let the highest bidder have it.
Wow more than double and being blindsided the same week of the meeting. That's insane!! A friend of mines, former Cooley almuni/NFL player Lional Dalton, tried bidding for Cooley a few years ago himself. Question for Life Remodeled: will you keep the old Durfee location if you purchase Cooley? Or will that be vacated? I can understand if so since Cooley is a lot bigger and there's more opportunity for growth. All and all, as a born and raised Detroiter, I am thankful for the work your org does throughout the city. I have volunteered a few times and the spirit and humbleness of others who help is always touching.
They ought be ashamed. They know they’ll just leave the building to rot in order to squeeze more money from the sale. How much is it worth considering all the contingencies.
It's very sad that they will just let the property just sit there like this and it could be bringing great opportunities to the community. There's nothing positive going on for our children and we can have something right in our neighborhood. The School Board needs to top it. That just shows you that they don't care about the community at all. They aren't even trying to secure the building. Then want to charge this ridiculous price for the building. They would rather tear it down then let be reopened. They don't care they just want money. Cooley is going to sit there for another 10 years if Life Remolded and the Cooley Alumni can't get the building.
A property is only as valuable as the highest offer to purchase...an Appraisal alone without a comparable being sold, isn't a tangible value, but only an ideal value...No facilities comparable to Cooley High School within a 4mile radius has been purchased in the last umpteen years...Cmon School board! How can you be that deluded, as to prevent a sell to revitalize an abandoned vandalized property that is a blighted stain in the community, without any other viable options to restore, anywhere in sight.
Life Remodeled and all of Chris Lambert and his team and the volunteers are a "say nice things about Detroit" story and nice to see what a nice story Dave LewAllen has shared.
