07/27 Me and my family were north of Ave Del Sol cul de sac and just before the life guard tower but was told to put out our fire pit and the police were nearby enforcing this new policy. Can you please confirm exactly where we can actually do a beach fire? The logs were in a raised fire pit off the sand in my own fire ring much like the picture you have on your website with one layer of wood burning, thank you.

Please create a physical barrier between the off leash dog park and the soccer fields. Dogs can’t be expected to know when they have ventured into the wrong areas.
Ebikes have a speed governor because they have the potential to go very fast and hurt vulnerable street users. Why not add speed governors to the massive sedans, pickups, and SUVs that drive around the island, too?
I thoroughly enjoyed this terrific audio and video presentation, with narration by Jamie Jamison, board member of the Coronado Historical Association and wife of retired Marine Colonel Jim Jamison. Kudos to everyone who put it all together. I noted this, in particular, by Jamie: “(I)n 1894 the newspaper delivery boy would now deliver the evening edition via bicycle.” Back in 1956 I rode my trusty Schwinn from Holland’s store up and down I Avenue delivering the Union and the Tribune. I have been going to the Cays Park for over 25 years, principally the dog park, but also to watch some baseball and soccer games. My principal concern is with the dog park as I believe the baseball diamonds and the soccer fields are well maintained. The dog park area is a gem! It needs new sprinklers, of course. I would also suggest that the water fountain be updated and a much larger fountain surround be installed. I would also suggest that the park benches and tables be sand blasted. The paint cannot last with the use, and the other benches in this area that are not painted, look MUCH better. The paint does not appear to make the concrete last any longer. It might also be worthwhile to put up a couple of more signs reminding owners to pick up after their dogs, preferably at the street side of the park. It does NOT need more trees, buildings or tables!
