If you enjoy seeing a variety of off road trails and tech videos as I make changes to my FJ Cruiser, this channel is for you! I travel to as many states as I can, bringing you new content every Monday and Thursday. Come along on the journey!
At the military base I’m stationed at, they have an abandoned vehicle lot with a 2007 FJ but no keys and you can’t inspect it before bidding. Worst case scenario, it will need a motor. Can I swap a newer 4Runner engine like you did or will I need to find the older 4.0?
Did it the way you showed here today. Used 550 cord for the lasso because it was what I had. it worked. took me 25min. Any advice on the axle seal? I did the one today because the boot was torn, but the other side has a good axle but the seal failed. I got the seals from the dealer.
@@Woefman911 essentially a rope with slip knots at both ends, one end goes around the inner cv, one end goes around an at least 5lb hammer. Swing the hammer, out pops the cv!
You have seriously motivated me. Tomorrow I'm headed up there with my bike for a scouting mission. I'll probably get muddier then you did though. I think I will stay out of the mud hole where you showed it was about 4 feet deep on gotcha trail. Thanks!
Pictures and videos never really do seem to do it justice! Watched your video before deciding to try and get up to the lake over Labor Day weekend in my mostly-stock (but not the important parts) 5th Gen 4Runner. Not gonna lie, I don't have lockers so had to work some magic on that ledge lol Managed to make it back out with minimal pinstriping and rock rash on my wheels, no other body damage or broken parts, just lots of memories to look back on fondly 💞 Thanks for sharing your experience! It really helped my buddy and I make the final decision to just GO FOR IT!!
US Army traversed the Black Mountains via Union & Sitgreaves passes heading west. The Indians used Secret Pass to gain advantage and attack the soldiers from the west side of the mountains....🥸
From a four wheel driving standpoint you did everything wrong!! You went alone. You did not put dampers on your winch line. You obviously walked the trail ahead so you could place cameras but you missed other obvious tie points for winching over distance, ie , you had to get out and reattach your pull points. These are classic no-no's that are taught to newbie 4 wheelers.
You made that look easy! I was brought there years ago, probably around 2015-2016, on my first ever offroad trip in my 03 jeep TJ 5 speed. Rough day but had an amazing time, had a cookout by the waterfall too. Awesome video!
Ok Iv seen a lot of people about a snorkel and being in a convoy ok guys simple fix get a snorkel sock aka a prefilter it’s not that hard to do they make a round pre filter or a snorkel sock that goes over a ram that’s pre oiled you can reuse it and reoil it or just throw it away and use another I’m putting a borne off road snorkel on my gladiator every weekend it doesn’t see roads it sees rocks dirt etc
it would seem you friend was in 4H maybe I am wrong but, if I am not you should have him try 4L. So much more control in my opinion and I drive a manual.
@@offroadhub.official I remember as a teenager I had the bright idea of taking a four wheeler through the busy wild. I was so exhausted after the entire day of trying to drag that useless quad around
You did this by yourself, lol no way I do that. I would never take a daily driver or a vehicle that I like down this trail that’s just retarded. But if you have unlimited funds, sure but regular guy no. But thanks for the video. I’m just sitting here cringing
Your the only person ive actually seen offroading an fj... everyone else just does on road.. cause dirt roads are still ON ROAD. Every other video I see people do baby stuff any truck or suv can do. Your the only one who does real offroading with one comparable to what jeeps do. Unfortunately the FJ is to fat. Its easy to scrap and dmg it, whereas jeels has tires that stick out more.
I’ve watched this when I did it for the first time and everything went smooth, now doing it for the second time everything went smooth even putting the new one all the way in, but the 2 bottom bolts now won’t line up! Is there a trick that I don’t know about? or did they give me the wrong part? The length seems off on this new axle I can’t line up or screw the 2 bottom bolts at all. Opinion? Thank you!
