Welcome to our Drone, big planes and rc planes RU-vid channel.
We are all about drones and aviation.
Setting the difference in that we are an actual drone business and know our drones from using them for work and play. There will be an assortment of videos, featuring tips and how to videos, to beautiful nature videos in all categories and also on our personal ventures when we go exploring, whether it be by e-bike, hiking, car. Also plane spotting, radio control planes and more.
Fantastic show, not a breath of wind, very overcast but warm, excellent flying of large models from 1st WW biplanes to modern day jets, a good day very enjoyable.
@JonathanProtheroe glad to hear. Was there a good attendance? Did you take some photos? I'd be happy to see some. Are you on instagram at all Jonathan?
@TJMDRONES No instergram but do WhatsApp or email, have some good photos and a jet flying that would be right up your street, your flying skills would have fitted in there perfectly
@TJMDRONES TJM I also treated myself to the FMS P18 supper cub 1300mm, to fly whilst I'm building the Junior 60 , I like to take my time building and enjoy the process. So I've just managed to programme the transmitter for the P18 and the Apprentice. Reading re reading the manual and it's sunk in haha, it is user friendly, I'm enjoying learning about it, set the D/R at 70% for beginner.
@JonathanProtheroe great plane the super cub, the bigger wheels make landings a bit more forgiving. I like the process of building too. Great work with the programming!! Once you get it then adding more planes will be super easy. 70% is good to start and the beauty is that you can change it if you feel like it
I would be bricking myself, really mean it you are a skilled pilot, my reactions are to slow for fast flying. What motor is in it, as said amazing sound.
Hi , it is magic flying I agree, been wet and windy here in green Wales so not flown since Friday afternoon, was working all day Saturday, but was able to listen to the cricket 😀 . Next Saturday I'm going to the Much Marcle Large Model flying show, go a bit of cash squirreled away for it , a few trade stands so can stock up. with with with
@TJMDRONES Hopefully the weather will be good, usually no bad conditions, past few years been really good, looking forward to browsing the trade stands, can I enquire what rc transmitter you use, because I've just come back to the hobby I got a spektrum dxs, nice and simple for me haha, however thinking of upgrading, need 6 channels maximum
@taylorv4 if that was filmed in normal video mode then the "well lit subject" would look a lot different then in night mode on the drone. The drone was also focused on the subject and not the background.
That is the business, congratulations excellent stand, nice and lightweight, I will have a go at making one for sure, I haven't got one at present. The Falcon looks fantastic.
@JonathanProtheroe Thankyou mate. Borne out of necessity and it does the trick. Great for transporting in my car as well. I love, and I mean love the Falcon!!
@TJMDRONES omg I've just had the maiden flight, quite nervous, on my dinner break, I live on a farm so the field next to my house is big enough for a small plane like the Apprentice, oh I blummin loved, did a couple of circles, only used rudder and elevator, believe it or not 40 years of building and flying model aircraft never flown with alirons. Really enjoyed, back to work in a bit so second flight hopefully later on this evening. I need to ask your advice please on aliron movement direction.
@TJMDRONES Fantastic just come in from having 2nd flight, really nice got 6 minute flight using a 420mah Overlander battery, used ailerons for the first time, had it on safe mode switch, figure of 8s and round abouts, finished off with a nice gentle landing 10ft away. A few questions I would like to ask regarding throttle cut off.
@JonathanProtheroe morning mate. Awesome, you got through the maiden and managed a 2nd!! Living on a farm I'd make my own runway haha. I always use ailerons and only the last few months been using rudder a lot more. Though I always use rudder when on my final approach. What is it you'd like to know about the ailerons and motor cut off?
It's arrived, going to put my mobile number on it like you, I've just lost my latest model, Ben Buckel Diamond Demon bugger, just waiting on delivery of 2nd battery along with charging adapter for my Smart charger. Your vids are brilliant
@JonathanProtheroe woohoo, new plane feels!! Did the demon fly away? Having your mobile number on it at least gives a chance of it being returned if it flies away etc, as long as someone honest finds it. Thanks for the compliment Jonathan, I just like posting my adventures. I just bought an F16 Falcon edf jet, that will be a video soon enough
@TJMDRONES I live in Wales and middle of nowhere, surrounded by hills and woods, my own fault, took it for a fly on too windy day, up it went and got blown away couldn't get it under control, so waved good by. First plane built after a 25 year break from the hobby, took 4 months to build over winter, had some lovely flying evenings this summer. I'm going to start building the BB Junior 60 and convert to electric, the Apprentice STOL should keep me happy flying whilst I build. Looking forward to seeing your next video, have a gooden.
@@TJMDRONES small world I escaped Birmingham city centre for the wilds of Mid Wales. My Aunty moved to Australia 50 years ago Queens land still there with her family grandchildren and all.
@JonathanProtheroe I used a 450mah 7.4v battery. It fits in really snug, just have to make sure the wiring is tucked in. I'm getting 9 to 9 and a half minutes flight time with this battery

Hi again, thank you for your advice well appreciated, I take delivery of the plane today, also purchased a spare battery, Overlander 450mah 7.4 2s 35c . Just to confirm it will be ok to use, I'm a newbie with electric flight. Once again thank you and I enjoy your excellent flying
@JonathanProtheroe Hi Jonathan. Here is a link to the 450mah battery that I'm using. I'm not sure where you're located but the link is to an Australian website, it will at least show you images and give a description. www.rchobbyland.com/im-r-c-450mah-25c-7.4v-soft-case-lipo-battery-jst?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwlbu2BhA3EiwA3yXyuz6pBOD8QbXjzvRGEgGWPws_Txm-swuOh0A4NenJ0Z1LDplSI6ULzhoCPxYQAvD_BwE
Just fyi in case you swim out there at all, my one and only scuba dive was exactly under that flightpath, and involved seeing a massive Tiger shark just chilling on the unbelievably deep river bed.
@rogergreen9861 geez!! If it had ditched further out I definitely would've swam out to it, but after you seeing the shark there I think I'll choose a different flight zone!!
You can make it follow with the active track more o less distance at free will? Or it sets a specific distance all the time active track is on? @@TJMDRONES
This has been going on since 2018. 2 0 1 8 . I think it's only 10 - 15 kms of upgrade, still nowhere near finished. Unbelievable. Whoever got the contract to build this should be sued, fined into bankruptcy and have that money spent hiring someone competent to finish the job. Fk me.
You have more guts than I do buddy! I’ve hardly used my Air 3 in active track because I’m afraid of it crashing. Your video is inspiring and maybe I’ll have more faith in the technology than I have been. Thanks for sharing.
@ronaldwilson9525 The air 3 has brilliant obstacle avoidance but it's definitely not set n forget. I find that using active tracking from behind is the safest as opposed to the drone tracking from the front. It also depends on the speed the drone is travelling at....the faster it's going the less time it has to detect any obstructions. It's not foolproof but it's an awesome feature
You're very welcome Tom, I'm from Irish decsent. My grandfather was born there and whilst my nan was Aussie she always wanted to visit Ireland so it was my duty to make sure she did. Best and most beautiful country she went to she said. One day I'll get there myself.
@@TJMDRONES No doubt you will don't forget to bring the drone there is some incredible locations here for flying and also don't forget a rain jacket :D
@tomguinan6916 my drones will be the first things packed haha. Do you have an instagram account with your drone footage? I'd love to see some. Most of my footage is on my instagram tjm drones
