About the gameplay,I actually didn’t like it since you do the same thing over and over again,find enemies,kill them,go and find supplies,maybe use a melee weapon,repeat. Even with the new mechanics like going prone,it’s basically still the same thing. This isn’t like Bloodborne,where you get a smorgasbord of different weapons,routes you can go,different enemies,etc. Or RDR2,where you get different weapons,a massive open world,side tasks you can do such as studying animals,doing hunting requests,and doing challenges(these challenges suck by the way),a sick as hell dead eye mechanic,memorable characters like Lenny,Hosea and so many more. So many games do combat significant better than this game. It’d be better if the gameplay branched out and experimented more,so it’d wouldn’t feel like a boring sequel made to cash out on the hype of Tlou1 and be GOTY bait. There’s so many games that are better than TLOU such as Ghost Of Tsushima,RDR2,Bloodborne,The Batman Trilogy,The Spider-Man Trilogy,Dark Souls,Elden Ring,etc. Anyway,my tangent aside. I found Tlou2’s gameplay incredibly repetitive and boring. This makes me glad I am now playing RDR2. Also,by the way,the NPCs are boring as hell,half the time they moan,scream out their friends name,try to kill you,talk about boring shit that adds nothing to the story,and are overall boring. I actually got into an internet debate with someone that said the NPC’s had personality,when in my opinion,they didn’t,and really affected the story. The WLF have orders to kill anyone who enters Seattle,The Scars are cartoonishly evil and the rattlers do things I don’t want to even describe. I’m just baffled this disrespectful sequel is 60 pounds man,it’d be one thing if it was cheap,but the fact it’s 60 pounds makes me really mad at ND.

John Walker is the biggest underdog in the MCU, NONE of what he did was unjustified or evil. He embodied Captain America way more than this butchered version of Sam. I can't see Winter Soldier's Sam (or post WS Bucky) being this much of a negligent, selfish @-Hole to fellow soldiers in need and others. Walker and Lamar, who weren't super soldiers btw went out of their way to save them in that truck, going toe-to-toe with supersoldiers to save him and Bucky. His only "mistake" was killing the terrorist in public sight, thus allowing the two ungrateful "heroes" to attack him. Gov made a kangaroo court to punish him only because it made them look bad.

Honestly I didn’t care to play as Abby and wanted her dead after what she did to Joel and they make it more upsetting having play as Abby in the theater to fully brutalize Ellie they didn’t even give us the option to switch characters, not mention it was a one sided fight Abby’s a trained WLF soldier who put herself through Bruce Wayne levels of training for revenge and Ellie has no hand to hand combat skills making the fight 1 sided and even after Ellie gets her arms broken and face rearranged Abby makes herself more unlikable to try to waste Dina then threaten Ellie What’s even worse is the short time skip from the events that happened I even sided with Tommy when Ellie declines trying to go after Abby again. Abby killed Jesse the father of Dina’s child Almost killed the love of her life Dina and crippled Tommy and not to mention beat her senseless that’s enough for a get back forget Joel at this point I was literally excited at the idea to waste Abby again but once the fight happened and Ellie let her go I completely logged off the game

All these videos about disliking TLOU part 2 miss the main gist of what Naughty Dog is trying to accomplish. Naughty Dog is a liberal left-wing bias company, and they hated the fact that the main character was a white male. They played safe in the first TLOU, meaning they didn't include much of their left-wing bias into the game, that's why it was successful. But in the second one, they knew people were going to buy anyways because of the success of the first one, so they waste no time. Why do you think the majority of the staff left Naughty Dog as they were making the second one? Neil is probably the only one left because he is the one who dictates things. Just watch the TV show, they made Bill gay, which is completely out of character for the type of character he was in the first game. Naughty Dog wanted a female protagonist and not a white male, that's why they killed Joe. But they didn't want only a female, they had to have a LGBT+ female to be the protagonist. Then, they included another female, completely out of the blue, to show their girl power, a matter of fact, the second protagonist was a female body builder, which doesn't make any sense at all in that world.
@NickLeigh-ir2vc
@NickLeigh-ir2vc День назад
first of all, bill is quite literally gay in the first game. he describes frank as his “partner” as well as having gay porno magazines. Second of all, when left behind came out in 2014, ellie was shown to be gay as well. this isn’t knew information, your just retarded.

Why do you think I or anyone else would or should care what you think? I never understand someone thinking their opinion of something is so interesting or important to others that it qualifies as "content". I might share with and listen to opinions of people I know but why would I be interested in what someone I don't know thinks about anything. The ability to upload an opinion to a platform like RU-vid doesn't make it interesting or of any value.

That's some neat projection there: But the reason it's not applicable to this video is simple: *Critics* don't need to lie about the game's quality. This can actually be proven. Neil Druckmann factually reused a rejected plot from the first game where he wanted it to all be a revenge story about Joel being hunted by Tess, and Joel was supposed to be an ex-authority figure who fought generic cultists, paramilitary groups, and slavers (in that exact order, sound familiar?) with a kid sidekick who didn't contribute to the plot. It was rejected because if people can go on cross-country revenge vacations, then it undercuts the menace of the setting. The critic doesn't need to lie about this, *Can you admit this happened?*

1. The whole premise is a generic, "revenge is bad" tale, except it also gets hijacked, as revenge seems to solely be negative if anyone other than Abby desires it. 2. Returning characters are either abolished or flandarized into killing machines. 3. Joel's demise should have been an exquisite catalyst for the events, yet it's randomly thrown in, as if the writers are merely hoping for the best reaction, without depositing much attention to receive that. For a game reminiscent of The Last Of Us, there shouldn't be a Mary Sue to whom everyone acts out-of-character towards. 4. Multitudes of attempts to replicate the dynamic between Joel and Ellie from the first instalment. Yet here, it doesn't suffice, since we scarcely know anything Dina, while Abby and Lev are ennuing at best, and actively despicable at worst. 5. Abby is one of the most poorly-written and incoherent characters. The game clearly favors her over others, and attempts to trick players into liking/sympathizing with her (with the cheapest and most immature tactics) yet it also exhibits that Abby is lesser pre-eminent than the character it tries to demonize. Examples include her backstabbing her faction for a single child, wrecking relationships, torturing others for pleasure, etc. I understand why she silenced Joel, I don't comprehend why she's a sadistic Mary Sue, nor do I sympathize with her. 6. Lev is a watered down version of Ellie from the first game, yet he is boring and bland to no end. Oh, and he's transgender. I suppose Neil wanted to label others transphobic for disliking a stale and uninteresting character, so Lev is an effective device for everything. 7. Too much LGBTQ content, which should be the very final aspect to be relevant in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. 8. The game is too lengthy, and the structure is all over the place. We start from scratch at about half of the game, because ✨ Abby ✨ 9. The infected are an afterthought, and are barely present. +1. The majority of the fandom approximately has the mind snd argumentative capabilities of a toddler. Peep at the comments under this video....

Sub plot aka plot armour. editing aka flashback scenes all over the place,instead a chronological set where joel dies mid game or something,at least after 5 or 7h of gameplay,also chronilogicaly whould have made Abby more agreable. Main plot is ok,because i get it,you had 1 job to secure an antivirus and you killed the only one capable to do it,now off course some will want revenge,but i don't think i will replay tlou2 any time soon,because from gameplay perspective is boring after finishing it 3 times already(i finished the game this many times as i said,graphics and gameplay,mostly).

I completely agree on the argument against the "Joel got softer and grew more careless from living in Jackson." argument. As you already showcased. The game itself proves this wrong by showing Joel taking cautious measures in the flashbacks, and dialogues like Jesse', which allude to Joel being very strict with how patrols are made. Furthermore, Joel becoming more friendly and socially open is reasonable, but that doesn't justify him loosing his paranoia and survival instincts. Jackson has a more normal, closer to the living before the apocalypse, but they still live in the apocalypse. They train, they're taught about the dangers, they all have to learn tough survival skills, they go outside on patrols that put them in danger, both from infected and other groups. This is to say, they definitively live comfy given the context of their world, but compared to real comfy life (where your survival isn't on the line), they still live in a harsh environment. Just think about it. By mere logic Jackson has to worry a lot to gather enough resources to survive the winter each year. A simple bad year in crops and scavenging could turn up in disaster, or an epidemic of flu if they don't have the right medicines. Now, taking into account that more than 20 years have happen since the cordyceps pandemic. Pretty much all medicine that used to be around is either gone already or useless (yes medicine expires). So effectively, unless they somehow get supplied by a lab somewhere or that they have their own lab and people with the knowledge, they DO NOT have medicine. So, again. A regular flu could kill the entire community of Jackson. So no, in no way they live a happy go lucky, no problems life. Side Note: About the diseases topic. This is something I actually liked a lot from the Prison arc in The Walking Dead. The fact that they had shelter, a functioning community, and a good supply of food and water. It didn't matter at all against a disease. Even more dangerous in this world where you always transform unless your brain is damaged. It made for a good conflict and drama, because they literally had to exile the sick, risk the health of important group members, and even have a moral dilemma and a murder case by burning character alive for the sake of preventing others to get sick. Again, just a side note, I just think this was so cool and very well crafted conflict.
@crazyinsane500
@crazyinsane500 Месяц назад
So the original idea was that Abby would actually integrate with the Jackson community and actually be a welcome member for a short time, which would explain why Joel would let his guard down around her. It wasn't an abrupt process, she actually would have earned his trust. So, *factually,* Joel didn't get soft. They just left in an artifact in the writing process. Could you tell this game was just a rough draft?

You just cannot give me the dopest gore effects since Doom Eternal for about 30 hours straight and then not use it on the main antagonist. Seriously, the ending of this game is so unsatisfying because you spent so much time on it. In a movie, this ending would have worked much better as a movie is usually way shorter and also doesn´t require your input. But a game? This is like polishing and fixing up an old Porsche 911 just so it looks better when it´s going into the trash compactor. It just invalidates everything you did. Atleast the first game built its plot around that idea.

Crazy how most people just didn’t get Tlou2 and whined online about it being bad without actually giving it a chance. 1. The reason Joel is oddly trusting here is explained multiple times, Ellie the previous night finally gave him another chance and tried to forgive him, he’s just trying to do the same for these people, that’s why he helped Abby, he didn’t know them, he didn’t know what they had gone through. That’s why he trusted them. Same with Tommy, also, they know what Joel looks like. The only reason they didn’t immediately kill him is because of Tommy, they didn’t know Joel had a brother. Also yea, it’d be safe to assume in that situation, they had been hunting for Joel for years, and as soon as they had a lead, they needed to act quick. Also: “Abby’s just trigger happy with plot armor”, Joel not only killed her father, but doomed the whole world, of course she would want to kill him as much as she did. And once again, ELLIE DECIDED TO TRY TO FORGIVE HIM, HE WOULD WANT TO DO THE SAME. “You don’t just grow soft”, yes, yes you can. He was happy, Ellie finally started to forgive him, he wanted to earn her trust by forgiving others as well. It’s called a LAYERED WELL WRITTEN CHARACTER. Also he helped Abby for a while and they both trusted each other. He is smart enough to know that she was safe, he had no way of knowing or no reason to think she was trying to kill him. Plus, he probably could tell why she was trying to kill him, and he gave up, because he too knew he needed to pay for what he did, plus, you’re saying a masterpiece of a game is bad because Joel let his guard down? Something that would later be explained anyways. One sort of out of character moment doesn’t equal bad game. Even so, have you EVER considered it’s not him being out of character, but him just being human? Yes he hasn’t changed much in fighting skill, but social and emotionally he has matured. Plus, “all this scene does is make us hate Abby”, YES! THAT IS THE POINT! THIS WHOLE GAME IS ABOUT MORALITY! IT’S MAKING YOU HATE HER NOW, BUT YOU’LL LATER SEE SHE HAS MANY LAYERS UNDERNEATH WHAT WE THOUGHT. Also Joel’s payoff and buildup to his death as we see in the flashbacks leading up to his death does his character so well, it’s a perfect ending to his character, when he finally can start to forgive himself for his actions. But actions have consequences, this game shows that, Joel had to die to move forward the necessary narrative that helped create the many themes and meanings in the game. Also they fully understood how much people liked Joel, that was the point. The Last Of Us 1’s ending was a horrific violent murder of an innocent person which doomed the world, an action no one would forgive him for, not even himself. The point of the second’s is to further show the ramifications of Joel’s reckless actions, and realistically demonstrate that the enemies have lives as well, further shown by when Ellie kills so many innocent people in Seattle because of her tunnel vision of revenge on Abby, Joel needed to die for any of this. And yes, while him getting bit would be a fitting end to his character, it wouldn’t make much sense, Ellie would have no real reason to go after Abby as she wouldn’t have killed Joel directly with Ellie watching, plus, part of the whole game is about consequences, and showing the perspective of the enemy, making you question ever killing someone in the game, if Abby didn’t kill Joel, we wouldn’t see her as a real enemy, but we have to for her to then get her “redemption arc”(not an actual arc but just showing us her life which shows the point the game is trying to make). Also everyone had their own reasons for ‘being stupid’, this was the first time we’d see Ellie act recklessly because of revenge, something that would define ladder halves of the game, Abby also reckless because of her anger for Joel, and because she had been hunting for him for years, this was her only chance to kill him. The group as a whole already has giant fences and they went in the basement, also killing the horde beforehand, so if any zombies were to come, it’d take them a while, plus, the group already discussed how they needed to quickly kill Joel, so they knew that more zombies would have to come. They were strategizing this out, it’s like you weren’t even paying attention. And once again, this was their only chance to kill Joel, they wouldn’t let remnants of a board or possibly a patrol of people from Jackson stop them. Also, Ellie was obviously distraught from seeing her FATHER BEING KILLED. Of course she wouldn’t fire immediately! That’s just common sense! And I will admit, it was kind of dumb for them to leave so many clues for Ellie, but they didn’t think Ellie would be reckless enough to go all the way to Seattle and hunt them down

There's a lot I like about the game overall, and I think Joel becoming softer as a result of living in Jackson and finally starting to reconcile with Ellie definitely could have worked as a catalyst for his death. That being said, I think it's a pretty weak explanation for Joel and Tommy's actions in this scene, as, in my opinion, these actions go beyond just feeling like softer versions of their characters, and instead end up coming across as downright naive given the setting they live in. Joel and Tommy having no idea who Abby and her group were, or why they were there, is the primary reason they absolutely should NOT have trusted them to the extent they did. The world of TLOU is chock-full of extremely desperate people willing to do just about anything, from murdering and robbing you to maybe even eating you afterward if they're desperate enough. Even someone who seems perfectly friendly in this kind of world could easily have ill intentions, and while the infected are certainly a major factor in everyone's lives, both games seem to establish that most people's biggest issues come from dealing with other survivors. We saw this all throughout the first game, as well as how this effected how people interacted. Just about everyone Joel and Ellie met displayed an inherent wariness towards strangers. This included Tommy and the rest of the Jackson crew Joel and Ellie met at the dam, all of whom immediately pulled guns on and treated the pair as potentially hostile until Tommy recognized Joel and confirmed that he knew him. In a post-apocalyptic setting like this, someone blindly trusting every group of strangers they meet isn't a sign that they're "socially and emotionally mature", it's a sign that they completely lack basic common sense. Imagine, for a moment, that instead of seeking Joel for revenge, Abby was from one of the bandit groups Jackson routinely deals with, and was seeking a patrol to interrogate for info on Jackson's defenses. Not only do Joel and Tommy hand her this patrol on a silver platter, conveniently disarmed and totally oblivious, but Tommy then almost immediately invites her and her entire group into Jackson, where they can take a look themselves, and potentially be put into a position where they could sabotage these defenses. By being this naively trusting, they put not only themselves, but the entire Jackson community at risk, which is something I simply don't buy either of them would get "soft" enough to do. And with all due respect, it seems like you're the one who wasn't paying attention. The shocked reaction Abby's group has to Joel saying his name clearly shows that they had no idea what he looked like, and had no idea it was him until he told them this. It's also clear that the only reason they get the chance to kill Joel at all is because Abby just-so-happens to find him and Tommy outside of Jackson when she runs off on her own. Owen's talk with Abby before this establishes that Jackson is far better defended than they anticipated, and that their original plan for killing him is pretty much dead in the water as a result. And I don't know where you're getting the idea that Joel needed to "forgive himself" for what he did when, in his last conversation with Ellie, he says outright he'd do it all over again if he was given another chance.

There's more reasons why we hate Abby other than, "Oh, she killed Joel!" Straw man Argument. As Tyssain mentioned and explained in this video.
