Mountain lions are smart and to hunt them you truly do need dogs they smell us and do a good job of hiding from us so why we're not just leaving them alone is a good question especially when they're natural to the environment just like Australia we're soon to have a feral cat problem we should be worried about especially when federal law doesn't allow hunters to shoot them even while on public lands
I'm 56. Spend alot of time in the deep woods. About 9mo a year. Only seen one and it was only the tail. My brother hasn't but found out he was stalked by one while hunting. Unless you hunt them using dogs. Chances are you'll never see one. Most people who do it's on CCTV cameras.
Where they store the trash trucks they have a black panther on camera, this is the Missouri and Kansas state line and I lived on spring river by there I seen cougars, Bob cats with leopards print and three different types of weasels. The wildlife is coming back, and its been ten years since I lived there.
I have observed Cougars in Pennsylvania. Our Game Commission says there are none in the state. I disagree from personal experience. PA has everything necessary for a good population of Cougars. It would be a shame to find that the Bigfoot population in northwest PA is greater than the Cougar population state-wide.
I was driving down 298 from paron arkansas to benton arkansas when a mountain lion crossed the road going north to south in front of me. It was well ahead of me and paused as I slowed down. It was an amazing looking animal and I will never forget it. That was in 2001. I was really impressed on the size of it and how dark in color it was. So I can definitely confirm mountain lions in arkansas as the area I am talking about is in central arkansas. Also 298 is a very crooked back road where one has to drive very slowly.
A lion was killed close to a school in Des Moines Iowa. Another couple have been killed on the roads!! Missouri & Nebraska definitely have breeding populations!!
In about 1970, I came upon a mountain lion while hiking along the Gooseberry River immediately northwest of Lake Superior. Don't know if there is still a sustainable population in that forested area or not, but there is very little human population there and I would guess ample food for the mountain lions.
There are nut jobs out there that state mountain lions are cuddly pussy cats that don’t present a threat to people. Tree huggers and so-called animal lovers are so misguided and uninformed.
In the description of the different monkeys there's one or two short sequences of the talked-about species, and the rest of the pics all show different macaque types. AI glitch here?
Add Georgia to the list the official word was no Cougars in Ga. However collared Florida cougars have been seen in Ga. The Georgia Outdoor News ask for game camera photos of cougars to be sent in. There were dozens of pictures sent in and published. Both black and brown cougars were photographed. I have been told the black cougars were actually Jaguars.
Unfortunately, I decided to dislike this video because the creator didn't bother with doing research before posting it. Both the state of Pennsylvania and the state of New York also have mountain lions, and they have had them for 20 years. State game wardens had reintroduced a healthy mountain lion population in the state of New York in the early 2000s, and since then, several have migrated into the state of Pennsylvania. I'm from Cambridge, New York, and the closest town, aka Greenwich New York, currently has about 50 mating pairs, and I've personally seen them. My family moved to Shippensburg Pennsylvania back in 2001, and I've personally seen 5 mountain lions since moving.
It should be illegal to kill any wild animal within the USA ,especially if it’s a predator as they are needed, there can be some exceptions like hunting certain species of prey like deer, and birds which had large over grown populations..unlike bears moose lions etc…humans do not need to hunt to live unless your in wild areas of certain states where you just can not go to the grocery store since it’s more than 100 miles away…I’d think we have killed enough to learn that all we have done is harm our self by killing other species
The narrator / writer is a blithering idiot that likes wild beasts with fangs and claws. The big cats kill/maul humans and livestock and many deer. Citing the lunatic land of Freakifornia is NOT a good idea. They are not hunted in that lunatic-governed state and therefore several humans have been attacked, mauled and killed in/on campgrounds / nature walking paths / hiking trails / Bicycle and jogging paths / national & state parks and residential areas. The biggest killer of deer in the State of North Dakota is.... mountain lions, aka: Cougars.
I've seen tracks and turd piles from them and found their tracks following me a few times. Near the Lampasas River, I've heard them mating at night. Scarey sounds.
