That jingle was popular around 1966. I remember just around the time school started, my grandmother would be watching her soaps around 3pm or later and I could hear this jingle from my bedroom while doing homework. 58 years later I still remembered 90% of the lyrics!
This brings back memories of the Hotpoint top loader my parents had back in the 90s. The control panel looks just like what I recall including the economy button, however, it operated a little different to the one here for the main wash cycle, so I'm not sure if it was the same model number or something different for the white cotton cycle, which my parents never used. The main differences I can recall are as follows: 1 - As the machine started adding water for the main wash cycle, it would periodically agitate for a few seconds, something like every 30 seconds. Once filled it would agitate continuously like in the video. 2 - After the main wash cycle, it would drain most of the water and start pulsing the drain pump while letting in fresh water, again periodically agitating for a few seconds. I had no idea why it did this, but remember that distinct pulsing sound it made. After a few minutes it then drained the rest of the water. The two rinse and spin cycles behaved like in this video, i.e. it did not periodically agitate while filling for the rinse cycles. If I recall right, it locked the door for the spin cycle as I remember not being able to peep inside when it started spinning (unaware of the danger back then).
I have this washer and I like it but it was having a fault code 130 which is a rotor position sensor errror but I think I fixed it i got it off trade me it’s a second hand website where you can buy or sell anything
Can you please do a full cycle video with a full load on max wash if you still have this washer but no music in the video please also you haven’t posted in a long time
Enjoyable video and good music selection. Not sure you did put too much detergent in bearing in mind that the machine fills with 16 UK gallons of water for a large load wash compared to 2 gallons ?? in the case of a front loading tumble washer.
Because this reminds me of my childhood. In New Zealand we had the Fisher and paykel variants with the same transmission. And I wanted to listen to it. 😀
I had the same model around 1994, I only kept it for about 4 years then got rid of it. Some regrets over doing that but the biggest problem was iv got low water pressure and it took 40 mins to fill on a full load on program 1, plus yes it was very harsh on clothes. If they still sold them today I would buy one but I'd keep a front loader also for delicate clothes and if I was in a hurry. Yes it took a swimming pool load of water.
These latest models had a `Gentle action' option button in case you weren't aware. Swimming pool load of water? Yes 16 UK gallons for a large load (10 lbs of washing) then 32 UK gallons to rinse, total 48 UK gallons ! Well engineered apart from the water pump that needed occasional replacement.
Does anyone know where to find that specific video that brought them here? I checked the channel but they've removed the video and haven't posted anything in awhile :(
It is a program specifically for laundry that is contaminated with stuff like bodily fluids and other contaminants. It gets to a very high temperature to kill off all the bacteria. Washing machines with a sluice program and sluice drain are usually seen and used in care and nursing homes, hospitals, hospices and other establishments where there is a high risk of cross contamination.
@shmuli9 Poor Europeans think everything they have or do is better. The USA had the first automatic washer in 1937...a front loading washer at that ! Oh,..that's right,...you "civilized and cultured" Europeans were at war with each other. We innovated the way people the world over do laundry. We had so many different types of automatics in the US. We had washers that spun at 1140 rpm all the way back in 1947 ! The first automatic Frigidaire and GE washers spun that fast. You can say what you will about the US, but none of you had the innovation like we in the US did. NONE !
Thats how cancer developed The intense radiation that was emitting from sunshine rinso Worst, the people wearing the contaminated clothing, spreading strong radiation in public and blinding kids.
Had mine for 15 years + Just have to replace pump now and again when the shaft seal leaks. Easy Job. No brushes in motor to change coz it,s an induction type. They dont make em like this anymore!
