Woody and family are most welcome in England. Lovely to see him here, but are you sure it’s England? Way too much sunshine? 😂 It must be like coming home to the land of his ancestors and it’s a good job he’s bi-lingual so he won’t struggle with the language. Thank you for sharing. 👍❤️❤️❤️
Hi just found your channel. I recently got a border terrier 10 weeks . He kept biting me or my partners. Is this behaviour normal for this age? How should I stop him from biting human or furniture? 😢
@@beij7639 mine did too and sometimes still does, say to him ‘no’ and stop playing with him. Give him something he can chew on. I think it is normal behaviour… his new teeth will not be as sharp😄
It’s quite normal for a puppy to “mouth” everything, it’s part of learning about the world. But puppy teeth are like needles. The best way to resolve it with my BT pup was for me to exclaim a rather dramatic “OUCH” when he bit me (but don’t shout at or chastise the pup). They don’t generally aim to hurt you so will stop biting and will become concerned and seek comfort - you are aiming to mimic what happens with their litter mates who will yelp when hurt during play. Try to not however pull your hand away because that can give you a nasty cut! They are quick leaners so within few days my pup stopped mouthing my fingers. I found a chew toy like a Nylabone best when he was teething and he never chewed furniture. Avoid tug-of-war games which can stimulate the pup to grab things with his teeth and pull. When he was quiet and a bit sleepy I would run my hands all over his body and would pop a finger in his mouth to get him used to the sensation so I was then able to clean his teeth and on occasion reach in to remove bits of stick or other foreign bodies. He now comes to me every evening to have his teeth brushed before bedtime 😊. Good luck, they really are fantastic companions and what you do at this age will determine how your dog grows up.
@@alecquail9275thank you for your message. It’s very kind of you sharing your experience. I have to wear some of my oldest trousers so he can bite without hurting my wallet 😢. I firmly say no and push him away from my legs and offer him other toys. But it seems he is not interested in his toys but my legs . He sometimes jump higher to bite my thighs too 😢. Do you think this type of behaviour will stop after he has his adult teeth? Thank you
@@beij7639 My BT Rodney is 15 weeks old, he absolutely loves to nip! he is getting better, we got him some Cheese bones from amazon that really have helped. I have 2 young children - he certainly doesnt aim to hurt it is just sharp playfullness! It is gettting better, slowly!
. . . obviously!(bt’s have a knack for finding the stinkiest thing in the vicinity and making sure they’re covered head to tail in it: think of it as doggy eau de toilette!:)
