Nice rig and the tent looks great on there. Quick question for you- how far apart are the rails on the bottom of the tent that the bolts are threaded into? I have CBI overland bars, that are 3.25" thick, so im curious if the plates would work for that as well?
The rails on the bottom of the tent are 27 1/2” center to center of each other. 3 1/4” is the biggest the hardware will work with. That’s the thickness of mine as well.
@@THFOffroad thanks for the quick reply. This is probably the route I'll go then since your cross bars are the same thickness and without issues. Thanks again!
Using power tools is not recommended. The bolts and Nylok nuts are stainless and can seize up if you use power tools. If you have a nut seize or you strip out the load spreader slider plate you will have to cut the bolt off. Hand tools only!!! Also remember to check the mounting nuts and bolts frequently during trips. Don't forget to check the nuts and bolts if you leave the tent on year round. Check them when you change your oil if not sooner. Adjust the ladder from top down not bottom to top.
I’m not sure if there is one but I agree. I always try and mimic what it was when I took it off. However there is a torque spec for the drain plug which is 30ftlbs
When they get tight they pretty much stop turning. that’s when it’s done. They are pretty common to break, so common that I work at a ford dealership and we even carry extra ones because when these come in for oil changes they can break while trying to take them off if the last guy put them too tight. They make replacement metal ones that won’t break
Doorman makes the already mentioned metal housing. Jaimee's Sienna had the plastic housing when we bought it, first oil change it broke on us due to overtorquing, very common.
I like them but boy are they expensive. The price has also gone up since I bought them. They are basically the trd pro style headlights with a bonus unlock/lock lightshow
@@THFOffroad I did the factory TRD suspension kit lift straight from Toyota , they swap the front grille with the red grill then they lift it 3 inches in the front and 1 and 1/4 inches in the back and the price was $3,400 . But still under warranty since it was done by Toyota ,however , I am getting some rub when I back up and turn , so need some BMC at some point
Es un radiador de alto rendimiento. Tiene el doble del tamaño del radiador original y disipará el calor mucho mejor. Es bueno tenerlo si es todoterreno o si tiene modificaciones en su camión que agregan peso.
We bought the 72 Walkabout before the Armadillo style became available. I think out of all RTTs, 23zero's quality seems to be on the higher end despite it being made in China.
It still runs at the same temp the vehicle is designed to. The benefit of this radiator is i can push my vehicle a lot harder and be comfortable knowing it can handle it and not over heat. The thermostat still reads perfectly upright.
Hey mate, how does it go with storing bedding inside? I usually use two pillows and a moderately thick blanket in my current rooftop tent but it doesn’t close. Do you reckon that would fit closed up in the armadillo X?
Good question! I’ve only closed it up with sheets in it. I just figured it wouldn’t and had the blankets and pillows in the cab. Something I need to try. Would save a lot of space
Little update, I took it out camping this weekend and tried putting two pillows and two medium sized blankets in it and close it up. Fit no problem. Just don’t lay the blankets where the tent folds and you’ll be just fine
