Such a great plugin that can really be used for all kinds of genres. The guy who made it is a cool guy as well and he played a big part in the movement that kind of shaped night time psytrance on how it sounds today in terms of sound design and production quality. I used to see him a lot at random forest raves in Switzerland before he made it big. Definitely check his music (his artist name is Jumpstreet) as well.
i like Adam Monroe's Delay it's completely free and x64 VST and it's very tight or spacy , any way you want of course there's also a very descent Tremelo for free on the same site other virtual instruments are 20-25 usd
@arcticfoxstudios2018 what I find really strange is that you can't access the sequencer, but they allow you can export the midi. Which is counterintuitive on their part because users can just export and edit the midi. Completely bypassing the need for the built in sequencer.
Great suggestion on applying filter FX to the Triaz Player loops. Since starting to layer instruments and effects with Unify, I no longer discount any preset from any instrument as "meh". Layering sounds and FX can transform the ordinary into something breathtaking (Not always, but possible).
Yep I notice you used Fragments, that's an underrated plugin! The rhythmic effects are really useful, but I've not seen anyone else mention it on RU-vid. Arturia Motions is great for sound design too. Both sadly NOT free, but worth picking up if you see a deal. 😃
Despite the fact that I am familiar with all the plugins - what a great presentation! Picture, sound... It's amazing, where are the subscribers? Lousy algorithm! :) P.S. Came here from your wonderful video about Ujam Reverb, which is now FREE. Yay. ( But this is temporary, I missed this fact at first) Oh, and I see you have additional presets, cool :) (I'm scrolling through the playlist now, is there such a video about free delays, there are also good ones, like "Deelay")
Also good free reverbs that come to mind are: Raum - to quickly prototype something understandable, and “delay-reverb-something else” Spacer by Spectral Sounds.
Thanks, glad you liked the video. I have not done one for free delays. I may have to consider that. I use Other Desert Cities so much that I don't think I even have a free delay so I'll have to check some of them out.
Model:Samples has 96 projects with 96 patterns per project but only 6 tracks. I feel like no matter which groovebox you get you will want to get a second groove box or something to compliment it with.
I didn't need it but for $19.95 I couldn't say no. I have so many sequencers already but I really enjoy them. But you said 60 presets? I just downloaded today and checked and it was up to date, but i had like maybe 20 at most.
I usually prefer a more minimalist gui to a highly stylized one, but their designer really does great work. All of the polyverse plugins make me feel like I’m piloting a space ship, and the bonkers sounds you can get out of them just enforce that “alien tech” vibe. Supermodal is really cool too.
That’s a tough choice because both are great. If you are just getting started and don’t have many effects, I would say get Filterverse because that will get you a ton of different effects and you can get by with just that plugin for a lot of situations. If you already have a number of effects, shade is great for fine sculpting to crazy wild sound changes. Infiltrator is another great effects vst to consider.
@@arcticfoxstudios2018 thanks for the thoughtful reply. ive been a bit of a collector. i have Falcon, various VST instruments, harmony bloom after watching your video, infiltrator and shaperbox 3 and i have phase plant which i bought when it was last on sale and, for various reasons, not been able to even play with yet. Im wondering if i can use Phase plant for filter sound design. - via fl studio. I use fl's EQ and falcons EQ tools if im sound designing within falcon. Sometimes i yearn for fabfilter, but Im trying to see if i can master what i have and stop buying slot machines. Also hoping phase plant will offer some interesting manipulation that isnt quite so, out-of-the-box. However, i cant recall why, but i was tempted by shade. Ive invested a bit in the UVI ecosystem and often wish i could send midi in to use falcons effects. Shade, for me, presents an opportunity to use UVI effects on other VSTs. - i think thats part of the temptation here! After i watched your harmony bloom vid, i watched your early filterverse vid. I managed to resist then, but here you are, posting more tempting cookies for us. With the added, beta phase ending, price increasing, my brain immediately panicked!
I dont care about song mode. The whole point of dawless for me is to arrange, perform and semi improvise live like an instrument. Its not about getting a perfect mix, irs about feeling the music in the moment and riding the wave. 😊
Working through this with my Osmose I noticed in The Magical Bow patch you inadvertently repeated the Macros settings rather than the changed analog echo settings. Any chance you could post the correct settings in a reply ... thx
Excellent to see how you are tweaking the delivered Osmose patches. It really is a wondrous synth as well as being a versatile MPE, poly aftertouch, multi-out and general MIDI controller. I am so glad I invested…
It's a totally different thing. Some of the eastern instruments that they have programmed are fantastic to play because they do things like programming fret noise into aftertouch or allow you to achieve a bowed sound by pressing the keys slowly vs a plucked sound by hitting them quickly. It's super intuitive also, so you just play the keyboard how you think it should be played and different articulations just come out.
@@arcticfoxstudios2018 Yes - the intuitive feel is what I experienced playing it at NAMM, and I can tell you are feeling that. The advantage of running the sound engine on board also gives it an immediacy and access to full resolution data of all the control data, more than is typically available with MIDI/MPE (especially resolution wise). I'd be curious to know how many of those expressions can be transmitted in MPE mode - whilst there is polyphonic bending and aftertouch specified in MPE, it would not be difficult for a plugin to capture multiple other MIDI cc controllers (for extra info like release velocity) on a per-channel/note basis if that were possible to be enabled. For things like rapid vertical position modulation - it would not be too hard to use at that as a trigger mechanism when a speed threshold is reached for that movement (so long as it's coded into a plugin)... this is why I'd like to get one of these to experiment with Hyperion.
@@arcticfoxstudios2018 I so agree. I hope that Osmose will continue to work on the integration with the Haken editor to make it much more user friendly, as well.
You might want to look at the Expressive E Osmose. That’s got 49 keys and similar poly after touch plus side to side action. It does lack the knobs and mod matrix of the brute though.
My favorite reviewer! I'm glad you're talking to JJ! Your work is manual -worthy and your input helps a lot. I hope they get you for product walkthroughs. Besides this, my eye is also on Sloom.
Thanks Matt. It was pretty cool to talk to a developer halfway across the globe from me. Yeah, Sloom is a lot of fun to use also, especially for ambient stuff.
Yeah, some of the actions on those old boards were terrible. I always wanted to own an original Rhodes, but after playing one, I totally changed my mind. Horrible action!
Though it was only monophonic second touch (even on 8 voice poly patches), the CE-20 from Yamaha which used 4 op FM before the DX line, had an AT performance that looks very similar to the Polybrute 12. It's second touch can be routed to brightness and/or vibrato and it's extremely expressive. You can feel the second touch on the CE-20 physically more so than the Hydrasynth. I've not played the 12, but from the description and the videos showing the key action, it appears very similar. After nearly 40 years, it's nice to see that second touch implemented on a traditional key bed. Though I still say the side to side of the Osmose is the ultimate in mimicking an acoustic performance on an electronic synth.
I come back to this video for your Ekorain dives yet I can't help but realize how versatile Bioscape is. I've basically put it as a layer on instruments, ambiance & atmo tools, effects, and even other players besides Kontakt. Bioscape just complemented everything in the chain and gave it a different feel EVERY time.
