I think that this sculpture is an absolute disaster. A bird that is the fastest in the world is depicted as something similar to a chicken. The wings are completely wrong - nothing like the real thing. By ignoring the tail, this “bird” could never fly and on that method of thinking, why not leave off the legs as it couldn’t land so they are irrelevant. It makes me ask, did the artist study an image of the peregrine?
If anyone from Blackburn deserves this great honour, Its this guy, Carl Fogarty, what he has achieved on the race track, is nothing short of spectacular, He may be an ugly so and so, But he's Blackburn's ugly so & so,. and he's a bloody legend !!
A true legend he is and well deserved BUT surley there is a better way to use his talents hospice and hospital or walking ways ? for the enviroment? electric bikes etc.
