The voice in the state Capitol for children, seniors, families, people experiencing homelessness, and everyone who needs a safe, stable, affordable place to call home.
Everyone in this housing sector understands that the services and opportunities to obtain affordable housing exists. California (and the nation) is rapidly obtaining tax credits and complying with the income restrictions to those ends. The problem is that people DO choose to be homeless: whether through lack of self-accountability, unwillingness to comply with shelter policies regarding drug use, or simply too much people as illegals are given far more preferential treatment than our homeless Americans. The ONLY reason money/resources is being spent toward incarceration the way the mood is swinging now..... is because.....How long as it been since 2010 of the infamous Google Poop Maps? How long as it been since then? And it's only getting worse!!! Nobody wants to incarcerate anyone that's experiencing hardships. Nobody wants to be the person that only adds hardship to those experiencing homelessness. But you CANNOT BLOCK A SIDEWALK, you CANNOT harass everyday Californians at the grocery store for spare change that is inevitably used for drug use or enabling a degenerate lifestyle. And you Can't expect the Public to sit there and take it. We all are sympathetic, but sympathy has a limit. The reason why Jordan Neely in NYC died tragically was because his own family enabled him to be homeless for upward to 10+ years before he died due to chokehold in self-defense situation where he was a threat to other subway passengers. People are not born into this world to exhibit hostility to the homeless, we are not born evil. But we do evil things in the name of self-preservation.
🌷Definitely definitely, definitely definitely funds should go to having more housing For homeless and for the low income population. Without a question yes yes yes. 🗽 I'm sorry whatever this is - Does not tell the whole story. There are different reasons why people are arrested. 🗽 Making a blanket statement which is part of brainwashing of a very complicated, very layered subject. 🏕 Homelessness comes in different forms. And yes, there are many, many people who do NOT choose to be homeless. 🎉 Maybe on some spiritual level - each PERSON is unique. The economic challenges are very, very unusual and very stressed. Each SITUATION is unique. 🪻 Have seen in my own area nonprofit outreach workers reaching out. This subject is very complicated. A twenty second snip-it does not tell the whole.🪻 Why don't you show a snippet of where non profit workers are reaching out to people on the streets?👨👩👧👦
I have a housing problem. National problems were dumped in my life. Women and girls did not know what to do, with the male species being in the state they were uncovered in. So basically, the obvious conclusion was to bring their cares and woes here. I'm a nice black veteran with a few Minor dings in my 60+ years. And truthfully ALL of Southern California is at odds with me. I made mistakes while growing up, absolutely publicized by our Hollywood media. So I must get to the helm of my own life in order to construct a safe and happy life. There's opportunities everyday to say or do the wrong thing, which does lead to jail hospitalizations or death. Either or. Ask they'll admit my life was used to shore stability for our culture. Because US is cleansing, I hope I can find a kind worker to understand and guide me out of this. Life(peace time sailor).
How about helping people to be able to help themselves instead of putting more gold chains around this guy's neck. Housing first is grift for people like this...
in Alameda the same applies where you won't be harassed in unincorporated areas.an unincorporated areas is not a business. you are not an individual or llc. police enforce policy or UCC USC etc. they are not law enforcers they are policy enforcers. that's why an unincorporated areas is favorable to the homeless. what other places are u incorporated near Lancaster.
the UCC and PL USC and other laws are contract laws, not constitutional laws. people are named individuals. that is a corporation. there are individuals, limited liability corporations etc. contract law has the offer, acceptance and consideration. when we are under contract with the United States constitutional laws do not apply.
I hope to develop affordable housing in the bay area. I work at a local architecture firm and am not sure where to get started to educate myself, find and communicate with partners, etc. Would you direct me to any resources or organizations that could help me get started?
Helpful discussion, thank you. Considering these options in the Building Homes Building Lives project in Lake County, CA. Looking forward to the 2023 conference!
I'm a republican! but I don't believe you should put the homeless in to institutions, that's is a socialist mentally! why far from the right! that hitlers way of doing things! why not talk to company's to lower there standards for hiring, and learning on the job training! so that some of these homeless can become again productive citizens! that's how you can help the homeless, give them a job!
This is such crap. I know someone who works for the agency that disperses the funds. Its a way for crooked builders, and the people associated with them to line their pockets with free money from the state, ie. US CITIZENS. They spend upwards of 400 dollars a square foot to build "affordable" housing. The real shame is that if these politicians like Chiu, who are either in on the scam, or too stupid to see what is really going on, cared about where the money actually goes, they could build more than enough housing at a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately, the state gov't agencies are filled with people, top to bottom, who just don't give a damn about wasting your money.
