Hi, I'm Claire and I'm a 30 year old millennial learning to overcome impostor syndrome to start living the life I dream of through content creation. With this channel, I'm looking forward to helping others achieve their dreams through content creation, establish consistency with solid systems and (hopefully) balancing life and work along the way. I overthink most things, love hearing about peoples stories and visiting new places is my favorite passion.

yes we can start over, honestly i love your personality thats why im subscribed you can do anything you want talk about clowns, makeup, dogs, election polls, vlogs, crazy adventurous video the world is your oyster go out there and show it off
Hi... new RU-vidr here, too... and I KNOW it makes sense to niche down because that is how RU-vid/Google works, but is that good for our lives/brains/future and present selves? I'm not so sure. You seem a lot like me. You pursue a lot of wonderful interests with great passion. And MAYBE RU-vid doesn't know how to deal with the richness of our lives - but if you weren't doing this project/experiment on RU-vid, would you have it any other way? I wouldn't. I like doing all the things. I like being multidisciplinary. I like exploring my life. That said, I hope you keep making videos you actually like. If that's on content creation, great. But maybe your videos could be about all kinds of things, and we could SEE content creation in the works. Cheers to starting over.
I really enjoyed this sit down convo. I can totally relate. I have two channels and several blogs and several digital products and client work and well, I also get overwhelmed too. But that just means I focus on what I can focus on. So my RU-vid videos don't get done, and I don't update on my socials or write a blog post. But I do work on my email list and clients then I switch. It's hard for sure! But you're doing great! For me, I'm giving myself grace. I also have twins and a family and I'm doing all that I'm doing so that I can have those wonderful experiences! You got this!
identifying your core "WHY"-the fundamental reason that drives you. This can be found by reflecting on what brings you the most joy, fulfilment, or meaning. Once you’ve identified this, use it as a compass to guide your decisions and actions. To minimize the struggle of being overwhelmed by too many ideas or desires, establish clear priorities that align with your "WHY." Focus on a few key goals that resonate with your vision for life. Creating routines and breaking tasks into manageable steps can help maintain focus, reducing the distraction that comes from having too many competing interests. Remember, it's not about doing everything, but about doing what truly matters. You are doing incredibly well! its great to get so many ideas out of your head.👏🏼👏🏼💯💯
Hi Claire. Nice to meet you, again! I agree with the decision to not niche down, at least at this stage. How about setting yourself a target of 150 videos, and just talk about what's on your mind, or whatever is going on for you. This is 75 more videos on top of what you've completed. Then look at your statistics and see what people are watching, how long they are watching, essentially allowing you to discover your niche in an organic way. There maybe three, four, or five videos that do really well for views, watch time, and bringing in new subscribers. These videos and their topics could be your 'secret sauce'. Just a thought because I have heard other successful RU-vidrs talk about this method. Best wishes for your journey.
This is great that you were able to get away and refocus. Your ADHD brain is wonderful but that’s why you have so many likes and things that you enjoy and want to learn. I think you have a great personality! You will do great in RU-vid!
I love you comment, specifically about ADHD, because it is the reason I love to try so many things! I need to work on focusing on some of them for a little longer, at least long enough to finish a project 😅 Thank you again for your comment and support, it made my week💕
As long as you have big handle mug with you, you have it all. Imposter syndrome does suck. And wanting to do all the things and doing none of the things also sucks. It's good that you were able to see that you were becoming overwhelmed and took some time for yourself. I am glad that you came back and didn't throw in the towel. I look forward to seeing what's coming in the future. The biggest draw for me on RU-vid has always been the community aspect and that is why I like finding smaller and newer channels and throwing my support behind them regardless of what their content is about. I believe we can all learn from one another and grow because of it. Welcome back!
The big handle mug always makes the day! Thank you so much for the support and words of kindness💕 The thought of throwing in the towel definitely crossed my mind but this has just been too much fun to give up on yet. I agree about the comment on smaller channels! That's where the real support truly is! Thank you for the gracious welcome back!
This is awesome! I love the fact thatthat you are so real about yourself and your youtube channel! I hope we get to see your travels that would be awesome!
You're comment means so much🥰 Thank you for saying this! I would love to share more of my travels, it's one of the things the brings my heart emmense joy💖
You're fun to look at, so you've got that going for you, but otherwise this was kind of a rambling video. A key lesson I took from Video Production Class back in my day was, "Show. Don't tell." You did a whole lot of talking about equipment you weren't even demonstrating. Tighten that up and I bet you could redo this video into a very compelling ten min video. Just a suggestion. otherwise, keep on keepin' on. Best of luck to you!
I'm blushing, thank you! I agree with you completely on this being a rambling and visually lacking video...I'm redoing this video and would love to know your thoughts on the tighter, to the point version!
Woohoo! When I saw the title I got super excited. I'm sailing right now... And hardly have internet when I pass next to an island. But I'll watch it as soon as I'm done. Thanks a lot for the video :-) And for the interaction. It's really nice :-)
Thank YOU for the interaction! This was a bit of a rambling video, which allowed me to try different tactics on balancing scripting and just filming! I'm doing a shorter, more to the point version as well 😅 Thank you again! And sailing sounds amazing!
Hey girl! In response to your prompt: I think you did under-edit a little here. I also find myself getting into the pausing and/or rambling mode quite a bit during filming. It is a really difficult balance of leaving some things in to stay real/maintain connection but also keeping it clipped down enough to keep the flow and viewers' attention. It's a process that I can tell you're working hard at and doing lots of experimentation with. You'll keep getting better with time!
Thank you! I agree and I'm glad that you do too because I think I'd rather plan a little more than I did to avoid rambling, mainly so I don't spend forever editing! I agree with the difficulties of what to say and what not to...now I'm looking forward to making a video on how I found that balance eventually! 💕 Thank you for the support!
Hey Claire. I think this one is a little long. I skipped bits...yeah, sorry...the algorithm...I know. You have an honest charm and that brings me back...but err... I vote for some editing, maybe down to 15 mins or so. Just my opinion :)
THANK YOU! This process honestly drove me a little insane 😬 I think I am going to do a bit more planning, not quite as much as I used to, but a little more than for this video! As a viewer, I would've skipped around too so don't be sorry, thank you for watching some and commenting. I think 15 minutes is a good length as well ☺️ Thank you again!
How much editing do you like videos to have? Are you here for the random rambles and thoughts or do you like it to get to the point. Whats your #1 piece of gear you can't live without?
Hi ! Thanks for the video ! I usually prefer it straight to the point. I've never done any RU-vid video yet but I do give conferences and lectures. What I do is have my main points like a script. Then I rehearse a couple of time before the lecture, in order to know and master my subject and the transitions I wanna add. Usually it helps me have both of the two worlds : fluidity and pretty straight to the point. Dunno if that can help for YT videos though...
Well... As, online, I only give lectures, I would say my micro. A blue yeti. It helps a lot with the sound for the lectures. :-) I guess a good camera is also a plus, but I would rather have a crappy video with good sound than the opposite. I would loose everyone If I did that
Condolences there. Despite the vastly higher prices, I find NON-APPLE stuff more reliable. For ONE Apple you could typically buy THREE identical PCs. Also, if the PC-laptop dies, you can TAKE THE SSD disk OUT and not lose everything when you ship it to repair, buy the same model, and plunk that harddisk into the new one. Not possible on Mac, where it's soldered in (aargh).
I have almost made the switch a few times but then this computer stops acting up! Maybe when this thing completely gives out on me I'll make the switch, we'll see! There are pro's and con's to both for sure, and I'm not a very tech-y person 😆
I like your video with the open discussion what's going on! Got many good ideas. I personally moved away from the Apple-world and found that PC + Android takes me much further, MUCH cheaper, more reliable much more expandable, has touch screens on laptop, and easier to connect many multiple monitors, a great productivity boost. On Android I can connect hard drives or ANY storage media DIRECTLY to the phone. Record on 500GB SD cards plugged in the phone, and swap the card into the PC. INSTANT data transfer. Very limited on iPhone. CapCut is probably indeed the BEST for video creation. Works as good on PC or better. Use LARGE monitors, ideally 4K. Keep creating! Good Channel! Thank You!
Hi Claire! Thanks for sharing. I have been having a hard time catching up to my favorite channels lately. It's been a tough few weeks! I hope you're doing well and glad to see your videos. See I need to take some of your advice and use a checklist in an actual ringed binder, not loose paper that gets lost. Or use the apps, but I prefer hard copy lists.
Let's do this! Also I hope it's okay but I'd love to copy your random facts about me from your bio? Thats such a great idea! Can't wait to watch us grow together girl!
@@Contentclaire_ity Absolutely! I’m having so much fun, especially since I’m just starting out on RU-vid. It’s a great way for everyone to get to know me better, and I’m super excited about it! Yay!!!🤗
You nailed it, you just have to keep creating. You never know how a video that you think is a throw away will perform. Now I know what you are thinking, you don't even follow your own advice, but that is something I am working on. Anyway great job with this video and great job with the recipe which you didn't mention what it was, I don't think. To answer the question about the community tab I try to use it but often don't think of it. I have been toying with the idea of trying to make RU-vid my social hub and just focusing on staying contained here. I see a little engagement with it at the moment but then again with everything I am not consistent. Question for you, what kind of blender were you using? You're doing great! Have a good week.
💯 I love this advice...even if I haven't been following it recently. I love your thoughts on focusing on RU-vid including the community tab- I've been thinking the same things recently! I am using a ninja 300 I believe! It's wonderful, even with the years I've used it!
Funny, you asked about community tabs. I have used the community tab for survey questions, and was surprised over the engagement I received. But I let it slide until just recently when I started researching how other RU-vidrs in my space are using it. In my opinion, it is worth checking into and will definitely help when you hit the membership level of RU-vid (3000 watch hours). Keep up the good work. Remember, RU-vid monetization is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
Interesting perspective about the community tab! Are you going to continue to use it with a slight adjustment or does it not seem worth it! ALSO, I love that you mentioned 'for your industry' because that is crucial! There is general RU-vid advice to listen to but researching for your specific industry within RU-vid will get you so much farther!
WELL, Claire - if you subscribed to MY channel you would already know that yes . . . yes I DO use my Community Tab. I like it because it can be a quick way to update subscribers when I don't have time to do a video or if I see a funny meme I want to share. I've learned that if subscribers have their notifications turned on then when you post in your Community Tab it will notify them (I think they need to be sure to do that on their mobile app too, since a LOT of viewers just view from their phones). Great video, nice to see you just being you again. Keep up the great work!
Here's the deal, Claire - I'm so sorry that your computer is acting up . . . BUT - I am also SO HAPPY YOUR COMPUTER IS ACTING UP! Why? Because we got to see YOU. Unedited, unscripted, raw and real. I honestly really enjoyed this video and that you mentioned The Witcher (wish Henry Cavil was still playing Geralt, but we can talk about that later). Honestly I think you should make more "vlog" style videos like this with minimal editing. The authenticity you had in this video was AMAZEBALLZ!!!!! <3
This comment has made my day- no, week! Thank you so much for saying this! It was really difficult mental hurdle but I think my computer had this planned because now I'm very much looking forward to doing more videos like this! Thank you again! Also, I still haven't full gotten over that Heny Cavil isn't Geralt...I'm not ready to accept that 😭
its amazing how tech can be so disappointing at the most inappropriate times too. love the video setting its so natural and this was wonderfully authentic. keep creating, stay healthy💯💯👏🏼👏🏼
Tech really is so unpredictable! Isn't my mom's yard beautiful, I love hanging out in it, even though it's a little noisy. Thank you again for the support
I always love coming across channels like yours that are in the early stages before they blow up since I'm on a similar journey. I'm not too far behind you time wise - I'm on week 3 and can totally relate to all those fears you mention mixed in with the excitement of what potential the future holds... you're doing great! Keep at it.
Thank you for much for this comment 💕 This means the world to me! I feel like getting started is one of the hardest hurdles so way to go on that! Now we both just get to keep growing! We've got this!
Good Luck with that. :-) hope it will be resolved pretty fast. Just an idea of a video : I'd be happy to have a video about your computer, how powerful it needs to be, the software you use, etc. It would be pretty cool.
Thank you for this! Thankfully it's all good now, just needed a little break I guess 😅 I love this idea! Thank you for saying that! I am going to pencil that in for an upcoming video!
@@MindofSmoothie Don't mind at all! It ended up being...nothing 😅 but really it passed all tests. But the issues have been around internet connectivity which I rely quite a bit on for my footage and the editing software I'm using right now. This has me wanting back up plans though!
Thank you for relating! I feel so spastic sometimes! But thats why I love planners and whiteboards to try to write down tasks and plan them out! Thank you for the support💕
