You’re not able to get this in 2024 anywhere! GoG had a Version once, but they don’t anymore, and Steam just sells the bad second and third games. So video games are no culture, and we have no right to replay them, our for kids to maybe play them one day like we have the right to experience our cultural significant music or film over and over again. It’s an absolute insult!
I got clowned by gaming industry vets when I was working in QA for saying that this game was original and out of the box. i still think that this game was misunderstood and is a golden nugget. i don't understand the hate.
K&L2 was a masterpiece that I was too young to fully appreciated ( I was 16) I remember that I download a demo that was in the restaurant And I didn't like because of the headshot feature that hide the face with blur Now I know that the combination of that camera shaking with non stop action give us some anxiety and desperation that no other shooter can provide
Damn i was like 12 or 13 , used to play this Coop with my friend on PS3 ... Damn i missed this game and my old childhood friends .... we used to love this game , played it probably more then 40 times hahaha
So argonaut used to work for Nintendo after they had modified a Gameboy to play 3D games and were hired by Nintendo to did Starfox 64. They were one of the first companies do to 3D platforms. Argonaut pitched the idea of a 3D yoshi game for the 64 and Nintendo didn’t like that and got rid of them. Argonaut continued making games and started using that idea but changed yoshi to croc and while they worked on that Nintendo took the idea of 3D Yoshi, along with the knowledge of 3D platforms argonaut passed along… and made Mario 64. As much as I love super Mario 64 I’d say it’s heavily a rip off of croc.
Great video! such a unique and underrated series. it is and will be missed. We need more of these dark and gritty games to make a comeback. The 2000s era remain a golden age for videogames imo
Okay where does that footage come from when they show you going inside Robbit from J'umping Flash at 0:27? Oml that completely reimagines the HUD to my mind
played the free demo multiplayer of the second game on xbox for soooo fucking long. never even bought it cause was broke but playing fragile alliance in that demo every day was so much fun and i forgot how much i missed it
I played it a little, and intended on doing both like I did for my Kane & Lynch video but didn't have the time. I will definitely get around to it, I liked what I played so far.
I love this game, maybe it’s just nostalgia of being a kid in the 90’s with a this game, but I cannot wait for the remaster to come out later this year.
I'd never even consider playing a game where one or more of the player characters shoots right-handed despite having a dead right eye. I quit watching 'The Walking Dead' because they had multiple characters continue to shoot right-handed even losing their right eyes. Always the right eye! Note: It figures that Lynch (who rocks that skullet, though not quite as awesomely as Reggie Bannister) prefers shotguns because he's a brutal maniac. }:-P 4:24 Or it could be that you're playing as a guy with a dead right eye, yet he's shooting right-handed for no reason. 10:28 So you CAN shoot left-handed. Good. But since his right eye is dead, shooting "westpaw" should be the default. 11:17 You'd have to turn your brain off to be able to tolerate a guy with a dead right eye shooting right-handed. 14:34 Looks more like some kind of SMG. Maybe an Uzi. 14:57 Ackchyually, the M240 is a medium machine gun. 16:23 So basically like Manhunt. The subtitle is probably an homage to 'Dog Day Afternoon'. 17:45 Judging by the stock, it looks like it's based on a PK-series machine gun, another medium machine gun. But then, it could presumably be scaled down to an intermediate caliber, which would make it a light machine gun like the M249. PK-series machine guns, designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov, are generally regarded as some of the best belt-fed guns out there. 18:09 Line up those sights, Lynch! It always irks me when people in movies shoulder a weapon, as they oughtta, but don't line up the sights with their shootin' eye, thereby defeating part of the purpose of shouldering the weapon. 19:56 That locale is an homage to 'Heat'. 20:35 / 20:42 Why does he switch to a right-handed reload technique while shooting left-handed?! 🤣 21:56 Extract that stock and shoulder that weapon, greenhorn! 24:02 Why's there no stock on that shorty carbine? Yes, I know AK pistols are a thing, but they're not "stockless fighting rifles" (since there's no such thing as that). They're range toys. 24:51 An AK-74 would be a rare rifle to find outside of the few countries that use 5.45 as a standard rifle caliber. You can tell it's not an AK-101 or '103 by the curvature of the mag.
I quickly bought a ps1 black label copy with manual when I saw they're going to release a remaster. I predict that the price of croc is going to spike af
That is crazy that you only have melee attacks but can’t touch enemies. Also crazy, but in a good way, is that there was a clamber mechanic to catch edges. Some modern games don’t even have that!
I tried to beat this game back in the day one the PS1, I don't know the reason for dropping this game, I guess I was just uninspired by the level design, the levels too samey and boring but I know for sure what really killed my interest in this was that bigger and better games came along that drew my attention like Gex and Super Mario 64, not to say that Croc is a bad game but levels that take place in a open void or closed off walls with such simplistic geometric paths, that does grow on the tedium for a bit, especially for a kid with loads of options.

How do you figure? What did Nintendo rip off? Super Mario 64 was released an entire year before Croc was. Banjo Kazooie was in development under the "Project Dream" title since 1995.
@@ReallyCoolGuy6969 Because the developers of this game originally wanted to make this a 3D Yoshi game, but they said no. That's why it feels so early N64 in parts.
Man I had this on my Xbox 360... it was quite hard.. never played the second one.. but loved the first one... man.. imagine if this came out this day and age... woke shit lol.. so glad I was gamer back in the 2000s... before gaming was cool or just a trend.. or filled with ttv bullshit
I think I know what you mean, because this game is so old it’s kinda basic and bland looking, and Wii shovelware was basic and bland looking due to laziness. I think the high resolution of this recording made it look worse, because we can’t see the crappiness of the original hardware and thus lose that context. I remember croc on the ps1 with the warped and distorted textures that the console was known for, I think maybe that was part of the charm of the game?
Wii shovelware ~2008 Croc ~1997 In arguably the fastest moving decade for games. I understand if you are young that it might seem as bad, but that is only because you are probably used to current tech. Or at least since ~2008 otherwise you'd never make that statement.
It just occurred to me why Kane's camera goes all wonky in K+L2. Kane has one eye. His depth perception is shot because he can only see out his good eye.
I love the kane and lynch games. Dirty, grimy and messed up characters and the world the characters inhabit. I wish we got that 3rd game or even that bruce willis and jaime foxx movie....
