@@alystodola thank you! iâm glad you found this video helpful! ðwe tried spelling workout and also loved it. but ultimately we kept going back to Spellwell because we loved the simplicity of it. i loved the layout and it was also less to grade each day (which amounted to a lot with 3 kids ð ). i also like the simple use and repetition of the spelling words that Spellwell uses. my kids were already doing plenty of additional language arts and writing so it didnât really make sense to add all the extra reading and writing that Spelling Workout has. hope you have a blessed homeschool year!
@@perpetuatingmotherhood this is incredibly helpful, especially your last thought that they were already doing so much of other language elsewhere! Thatâs what I couldnât quite put my finger on that I wasnât sure about with Spelling Workout! We love explode the code, and I think Spellwell will be wonderful for us, I was just nervous that it was too simple. But it should be! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, and for your video as there isnât much info out there on this curriculum! I hope you have a blessed school year also!
@alystodola ð€ð€ yes i also believe it should be simple and not too complicated or contain extra fluff lol (unless i was looking for extra busy work) however i just made sure they mastered the words each week. i would also add a few challenging words to the weekly list that i think were found in the back of the book; i believe i stated that in the video. that is awesome that you love explode the code. we also used it and found it very helpful. we also really loved wordly wise 3000 for vocabulary. we used it for several years (years ago, so not sure if itâs changed) and this program seemed to really improve my childrenâs vocabulary! we tried both textbook and online version, before the online version became available. homeschool buyers club offers a great ððŒ discount for the online version. my children really seemed to respond well with the online version, as we werenât doing a whole lot of online learning at that time, mostly textbooks and hands on. so it was a good change up for them during the day. ð i really loved Wordly Wise 3000 for kindergarten as well. ðit was so much fun to teach with my little one and was very engaging and more hands on. blessings and happy homeschooling!

I have ADHD and caffeine has a reverse effect for me. I will drink coffee at night to make me sleep. Sounds wild but it's an actual side effect of ADHD. Might want to get your son checked. I do not take medication for it but I use natural vitamins.
@@JesusIsKing1980 wow thatâs cool! i do remember now my daughter telling me about a friend having adhd and she drank coffee every morning before school. it helped her focus and calmed her down. what vitamins do you take for it? love your username! ð thanks for sharing!
Steamy tea wth lemon and hunny in the morning and evening ! Also a sliced up garlic clove in a table spoon of hunny when you are really congested ! Also try ginger ale for the dizzy fizzy tummy!

Iâm hoping to start this with my fourth grader this year! Do you use any spelling curriculum after level D (5th) or do you find this is sufficient to cover most words?
Hi Katie! Thanks for asking! After 5th grade I generally donât continue any type of spelling curriculum with my children. I try to build a very solid foundation with their spelling and dictation so they wonât need any further instruction in spelling past the elementary grades. However, if I see they are still struggling in the upper grades I will continue as I have with at least one of my kiddos.
@Dawn Taylor No, I donât believe there is a placement test. Iâve always used it at grade level and just added additional words that seemed a bit more challenging if needed or words that my child needed extra practice with in the âclassroom wordsâ section. ð
Looks like y'all got some great stuff. We also buy frozen cherries from costco. We like to make smoothies with coco powder, cherries and avocado... Tastes like chocolate ice cream.
