Nice read on the proxy! A bunker would have been useful to help defend, and going for a tank instead of the hellions would have been better I think. Still, you held it, so nice job! After that, things got pretty sloppy - you denied his expansion, but really allowed far too much counterplay considering you had him trapped on one base. The fact that your expansions were so far away made it much more difficult for you to manage harassment, especially since you aren't using an army hotkey. This was a good example of when using F2 all the time really starts to become problematic. Despite being on 3ish bases to his 1, his army was basically matching yours because he had as many production buildings as you. By the time you're taking a third base, you have to have more production! You then use that to build a big army and storm his base - you got there eventually, but took quite a lot of damage due to the slow production rate. Nice win, keep going!

You did a bit better job this time at getting your refineries saturated, and you built more production than normal, which is great! I think you weren't sure how to proceed after you were initially repelled by his tanks on the high ground. In this scenario, a few options to consider: 1) scan his base(s) to see what he's doing and how much defense he has. 2) contain him on his current bases, make sure he doesn't have hidden expansions, and get twice the number of bases he has. 3) depending on his plan and defenses, just push in and do some damage or kill him. Do you mind sharing what build you're using?

Ok so, the drop was not good and it wasn't a good idea at all, you did get production just as you started to bank minerals, that's good, you could've scanned his main or somewhere around that at 7-ish minutes in case he was doing something weird, fighting up a ramp is also quite a bad idea, but he didnt have siege tanks or any other setup, so it was fine ig. Oh and you should look at your supply more often, ofc. Also how did the opponent have like 5 more SCVs by the 3rd minute? You were forgetting them probably

So, I feel like you're at the point where this is going to make sense, if you want to go another route, that's fine. So to help handle your issue with getting supply blocked, lets work on your build order. I know reactor barracks is comfortable and feels really safe, but its MUCH too soon to be using it. I wouldn't even put a reactor on my initial barracks to begin with, opting for the tech lab for the upgrades. But these early marines are only costing you more minerals and supply. Just pump single marines until after the expansion is up.

The better you get, the faster you supply block. Once your natural is up and running, you should dedicate 2svc's to never go back to mining. Que up 2 while you have 2 building. That gives you a bigger margin for error.

solid game. I liked that you build the extra production, even though the game ended before you could make use of it :D When it comes to supply blocks, designate two SCVs to be depot builders. They should do nothing but build 2 depots at a time once you are running on 2 bases.

So obviously there is a lot to talk about for a 45 minute monster of a game like this, but I'm just gonna give you the two biggest take aways for you. The first is definitely your production. Having 5 production strucuteres with a 5 base economy hurts me a little bit. You want to aim for around 8 barracks at that point. -> whenever you are filling up your entire production queue with untis, that is a clear sign that you need more production right now. And the second, more specific to this game, is to get rid of enemy planetaries properly. Running your entire army into defensive positions like that when he can mass repair the planetary is not a good idea. Especially not with vikings which are very expensive and vital for your survival against the BCs. What you should do is build tanks and siege them out of range of the planetary. Then just let your tanks do all the work and just protect them with your army. 5-6 tanks are enough. With that you can look to get a good trade when your opponent is pressured to deal with your tanks.

So I understand your opponent had a lot and I mean a lot of battlecruisers. But did you have do a viking only challenge? There are things waaaaay better at taking out fortifications. Like.. tanks. There are things better for dealing with enemy tanks... like tanks. There are things way more efficient for keeping the enemy out from under your viking cloud... like tanks. Also it killed my soul a little when you went through this entire viking only thing... and you never researched fast servos. It was a really entertaining game to watch, I hope you had a blast playing it but: So.. so many vikings walking to their death... vikings that had families... vikings that were worth so much minerals and gas just... into the blender. And among such ruin was only cries of "please just siege like 3 tanks!" and "please, just use stimpack, please!"

You know, when I went to bed last night I was thinking about this game. I actually dreamed a StarCraft dream which makes me think I’m playing a bit too much 😂 If I’d of had like 10 tanks, I reckon I could have pulled it off. I was so worried to see BCs o just defaulted to vikings and didn’t even consider I had enough at any point

I think production bldgs is your kryptonite. You just refuse to build them. The only purpose of missile turrets is to buy time for your Army. One or two is enough per base. You were actually winning, you just didn't have the production to replenish your losses.

Fun game to watch! Definitely good not to panic and overrespond to attacks and lost engagements, but may be a leeeeetle too blasé about not running SCVs away :D

This is the third time im writing this comment because im still not used to new youtube design and click off the video every 15 minutes bruh So. In the early game - keeping the first marauder alive until marines come out would've been better i think, getting second CC in the main and floating it to the natural would've been a lot less risky and wouldn't have made it an easy target for later harass (which happened). I saw you queue up some units without looking at the base, that was good. Not pulling SCVs away while they're being attacked is not good, do pull them away. In terms of when to add production, coz you're still struggling with it - whenever you cant spend your money. If you want something more concrete i heard someone saying u need to add A production facility (any) per 10 SCVs (past 30), so do that if that's simpler to follow.

Tip on the selection of skills for the sniper: You have chosen "Snap shot" (move and shoot) and "gunslinger" (added damage with pistols). There is little to no synergie between those skills. If you take "Squadsight", you get a real sniper (long range death from above), especially when you get the plasma sniper rifle and archangel armor, which you can combine with the gunslinger perk, so he does good damage with a pistol when he has to move to shoot (if combined with foundry upgrades, that is). This combo has save my troopers on many occasions, since the sniper then has a massive area where he can support the others. Snap shot isn't my favorite, since it carries a heavy penalty on the 'to hit' rolls, making you miss the move and shoot shot most of the time. Also: "gunslinger" and "damn good ground" are always a difficult choice to make, both have good benefits. In case you do another playthrough after this one: I recommend selecting the 'Second wave' option: 'training roulette'. This makes the game a lot more interesting, and you can get really attached to some soldiers. It makes the skill choices random at each level up, so you can get some really nice (or crappy) combinations.

Yes indeed. I said Char will kick your butt. I never said Char was a single mission. That said really good getting through on hard. It's gonna get harder from here. Your channel but for Char if you lose post it we'll help you figure out what went wrong. I liked that on your own you figured out how drop pods gives you a new angle for the level. Shows you looking for new ways to push through. As the last few missions for good proper terran ladder and mission game play. I leave you with one question to ponder until next episode. How do you most efficiently kill zerg? Again this is a mission I can objectively say you would not have beat a month ago. Keep up the good work.

GGs! Just to give a little bit of input, definitely need to start working on more production BUILDINGS, instead of having one maybe one or two barracks for marines, you should at least have like 5 and instead of filling out the whole queue with units, those 5 barracks should be producing some marines, not only you get units faster, but you spend way more money, which besides kinda being the point of the game, is gonna help you a lot to mass or rebuild your army after a fight. Also I don't know if someone has mentioned this, but you can have ALL your army production buildings in one command group, and you can switch each type of building by pressing the tab key. It can help a lot for having other keys free for other things, like maybe some dropships that you're going to use for a drop, or to keep up your tanks on siege when needed, obviously, its up to you! However what I actually wanted to point out is your actual ARMY, at one point, specially on higher ranks.. people are going to notice your marines, tanks and vikings and WILL start countering hard.. why I am saying this? Because your opponent here did the complete opposite, and you actually said it yourself that the fight could've been much shorter and its 1000% true.. if you did different units. There is many counters to many different things. but the idea is to pay attention on what your opponent is throwing at you, he only had marines and tanks.. hmm how about some liberators (which you can upgrade their range) instead of vikings, or even pay attention to other things, the guy had barely one expansion and you had 4, so how about some battlecruisers with upgrades? and these are only some suggestions, but those vikings did barely anything and that money could've been spent on something better, try to have fun with other units, even mines outside his base could've put a lot of pressure to his marines. Also grats on countering that barracks proxy, not only you did it but you suspected it before it happened, however it could've gone a bit more smoother for you if you placed a bunker at the entrance, even if you had only one marine in that bunker his push would've been even less efective, and maybe tech up immediately to get one siege tank. Anyway, thanks for the videos, this is super fun to watch and I hope that not only you're having fun playing the game, you're also having fun making videos. Hope everything is going well!!

Hmmm... Both good and bad, but I'm not gonna bust your balls on this one. You blind countered the proxy rax, it was an excellent call, but really risky. This delayed your orbital command, but you didn't do it because you were "thrown off your game" but because you prioritized something else. Verified the proxy, got out more production buildings, plugged holes in your ramp, and then immediately got right back to it, upgrading your CC. Didn't panic on the attack because you maintained production. Not supply blocking yourself early was more of a happy accident than a well executed build order. But stop and think: if you were able to build that many supply depots early to fend off an impending attack... then why not be more proactive about them from the start in the rest of your games that are macro oriented?

I have to ask, do you forget in the middle of the games that supply depots can be lowered and raised? You keep failing to finish walls and you never lower supply depots after the first few minutes, I wonder if this is because you forget that supply depots can be lowered?

2 things. 1: Marines are generally soft countered by BC's not only can they slowly float away while shooting as you saw but they start off with 3 armor meaning that marines tickle them slightly. 2. It is almost always the right call to upgrade weapons before armor. Armor upgrades will always upgrade 1 point, whereas attack upgrades can sometimes add multiple modifiers.

Try to avoid the temptation to just wing your build order, especially in the first few minutes - repetition is the key to learning it, so you don't want to be free-styling. If you find yourself adjusting your build order, really make an effort in the next few games to rein that in, because the more flexibility you allow yourself, the sloppier your starts get, and this makes improving a lot harder. When he attacked your third, you had nearly 2400 minerals in the bank! That could have been a lot of extra units for you to handle that fight with. You also forgot to put more workers on your refineries at your natural (and the third, though you noticed that sooner), which is part of the reason you were short on gas again. Stick to your build and keep focusing on the fundamentals and you'll be back to form in no time!

Panic really got you here, and that's fine! You certainly shouldn't know how to deal with every little thing that comes your way at this level. A few games in a row now, you're often noticing you're low on gas while not really taking the time to see why. Don't forget to check how many refineries you have, and more importantly, that each one has 3 workers on it! I think it would be good to get in the habit of doing what's sometimes called a 'macro cycle' - they're somewhat different for each race, but the idea is that you regularly and routinely go through a short checklist repeatedly during each game. Think workers, army, supply. Workers, army, supply. Workers, army, supply. Got distracted by something? Workers, army, supply. Workers: make sure you're building them (until you have enough), and make sure your bases are getting saturated. check minerals, refineries, worker counts. Army: make units, and make more production if you have too much money. think about what units you want/need for your current situation. Supply: check your supply and build depots. As this becomes more automatic, you'll get faster at it, freeing up more time and attention to take extra actions after the Supply step before starting the Workers step again. Keep it up!

You did a nice job responding to the BCs, and a really nice job denying extra bases, which is really important in a game like this. I think you took a step backwards in unit control here, maybe trying a little too hard to micro - in a lot of these cases, just A-moving will be fine, because you were taking quite a lot of fire while moving units around. But that's understandable while you were dealing with the BCs, so well done! Also don't forget about tanks - you were really getting pushed around by his tanks, and never made more of your own to siege his base (remember, your vikings give them vision and range). Once you have more bases and more production, you can siege up around his bases to force him to come fight you instead of being able to defend so much. Still, nice win!

Nice win! Be careful with your unit moves and rallies - there were some times your units are just walking past enemies without engaging, which is especially bad if they're taking fire while doing that. Keep up the improvements!

7:43 - should probably add more production at this point, 1k in the bank and it doesnt seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. Also at that point i would scout for 3rd base of his and/or scouted (maybe even scanned) the main. He's been awfully quiet. 10:10 - a bit too many turrets there i think, one more starport would be better probably 11:55 - i think you could've started pushing him here, you have tanks and medivac for highground vision, but i also see reasons not to do that, mainly the lack of attention to do that AND still doing anything else, so... Oh hey you did that 5 seconds later, lol. Also at this point you really, really should've hotkeyed your vikings. Like, at least just them, so you wont send your whole army home for 2 BCs jumping into main or smth. And just in general because flying units have more mobility and marines will always lack behind. 14:00 - slap like 3 more startports or smth, you clearly have resources for mass viking, you just dont have the production. And also probably take a base, your main is prob depleted already. 17:55 - yea and this is why you always scout random bases in lower leagues, ppl do that all the time! Good job adapting to BCs tho. And ok job at not forgetting everything too. And good on not losing all ur stuff at the start of the game to a bunker and a siege tank.

@@Voidspacealpha oh and you got ship plating, that's better than nothing, but attack upgrades are usually better since they scale with unit damage, while armor is always just +1. Against BCs tho - armor is fine because oh how they attack

I've noticed a few bad habits recently one you already know the unspent resources I see you make your control groups, but you still go to look at the buildings many times. You got to get better at utilizing them more and staying focused on spending your cash. The other is you are turtling on many of your more recent games when you should be keeping your opponent's busy probing their defenses, setting up camps on their expansions and general harass. It gives the opponent easy cheese strats if you don't check them in the early game. Also, you had your army split for the majority of this game that makes both your armies very vulnerable if they get engaged. I would have liked to see more Vikings and cyclones being made since you knew he was massing BCs you were doing well to start, but you started building too many marines and tanks making Vikings and cyclones would have been ideal for you they are better counters to cruisers. Good match you handled the issue and didn't panic when he had a pretty large amount of bcs I think that's your first success versus mass air units congrats on that.

And marines were not a bad call, if he was to continue with the upgrades, they dont cost gaz and might distract BCs from more important targets like cyclones and vikings. Siege tanks, on the other hand, i can't recall him building them after seeing BCs, but if he did then yea, that wasn't a good call.

@@benismann you'll notice he sends his units out, but he didn't actually use them is what happened. They just ended up getting pulled back it's happened in a couple other recent ones. The marines weren't the worse part, but considering he usually lacks upgrades, and forgot to use stim though he had it. I would say for him they are more of a liability in that matchup. Otherwise, I'd say the marines aren't that bad. He isn't turtling all game, but he waits too long, and it gets him in trouble with cheeses that can be disrupted early.

Production was good. He couldnt keep up. You also adjusted your build to account for his BCs. Just keep practicing that, and you'll get faster. You should be able to reach 200 supply by 12 minutes easily. The strategies will come as you play more.

See, this is what I was talking about my TvT strategy and how I use them. Immediately, you reacted to counter his plan, if he just warped them all over your main... You were absolutely right about the push timing. This is another "if I just build BCs, then I'll just win" kind of mindsets, you can tell by the quantity. No strategy, just expects to auto-win. 20:05 Bro, look at your supply gap 🤣 It can be better, though.

I swear I’m stuck in silver and gold because of BC’s or mass Banshee’s. I know it’s my fault, but very frustrating when you have 3-4 bases to their 2 and it’s defended to where you can’t get in.
