You don't have to unscrew the front bumper, I have done this several times without any issues

Just because it worked for you doesn't mean it works for everyone. It's much easier to unscrew the bumper. I've done it too without unscrewing the bumper but find it way easier unscrewing it.

By any chance do you have a video of Valve Cover gasket job? Most of the ones I’ve seen are from want to be real mechanics and they focus more on their personal frustrations and crap than the real focus of the freaking Job!

Is this job the exact same procedure for a 2006 650i BMW? Looks like a very simple job the way you fixed it compared to so many videos I’ve watch! They usually work from the top removing so much crap up there then from the bottom etc. You’re like just pull a couple things and let them hang then the motor mount and all the other few steps but not many and reverse to reassemble. Thank you for letting us in to your shop and knowledge Not many like you on RU-vid. Keep posting videos!

I end up removing the intake air duct from the throttle to take a good look at the oil leak and even though it looks it’s coming out from underneath the alternator area It’s actually coming out of the valve cover and the front end of the valve cover area not sure what you call It looks like has another gasket where the timing plate goes. I’m wondering if you have a video for that? (Valve cover gaskets) These other Shade Tree mechanics are informative but they seem to make it so complicated VS your videos.

Bro this is a huge job!! Took 7 days...at least 15-20 man hours solo...this job has to be done on a lift...I would have paid 1500$ to get this done for a 30$ part...and omg it's super messy! No matter how much u try fluids draining every where...good luck... rather sell the BMW next time this happens

Sorry, but your beginning rant of justification for driving this vehicle, contributes nothing to your presentation!...Stick to the details, leave the "PC" rap for the granola eaters!

Maybe a dumb question, as I'm about to dive into this on a 2010 E61, but if the leak is the oil cooler thermostat seal to the alternator bracket, why do you take the alternator bracket off the car, is there another gasket between the alternator bracket and the block?
@brianscustomfabricationdes2981
@brianscustomfabricationdes2981 3 года назад
The bracket is a pass through for the oil cooler thermostat. Don't just do the thermostat seals

David here, I have for over 7 years been driving a Nissan Leaf for my work car and I love it. My main reason was my older car died and I wanted to substitute my gas payment for a car payment and it worked. A few key notes I wanted to touch on. First my car is older 2016. But if using a the Quick charge dont do it over 80% it can actually damage your battery may not seem like it but you over time it kills it off. Also if you are not going to drive your car for a few days try to keep the charge below 80% It helps with battery health. Also using the quick charger to much will ruin your battery too. These are just a few tricks I have learned. And Both Rachel and I want to say thank you for shouting out our channel too. God bless

@brianscustomfabricationdes2981 3 года назад
Yes your correct on the quick charge you don't want to go over 80 percent. The level 1 and 2 is automatic and can go to 100 percent you should still charge with the batteries cool. The difference is quick charge is a Direct Current or DC charge the batteries are DC. The level 1 and 2 are Alternating Current charge or AC like your house and it gets converted to DC to charge the batteries.

I really wish you would post more videos... I'm on day 2 of this job and it's a pain in my ass. To answer these other questions here, the oil, coolant and power steering fluid all get drained with this job. I don't have a lift, so Ive been laying on concrete for hours. Most of this job is done from underneath. I bought an engine support bar. Thanks for letting me know that you have to remove the mount bracket. I think that's what I'm missing. But damn, for a garage mechanic this is a hell of a job...but beats the hell out of paying 2k to a dealership!
@brianscustomfabricationdes2981
@brianscustomfabricationdes2981 3 года назад
Sorry for the delay. No I didn't drain anything. I'm a master tech and used a lift so it was easier. It literally took me longer to clean the mess it made than to do the repair

Yes everything was from underneath except engine cover. And I just used brake cleaner to clean
