Welcome to the RU-vid channel of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD). The Commander of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center (CAC) at Fort Leavenworth, KS is the Army's proponent for doctrine. CADD is his executive agent for carrying out those proponent responsibilities. In short, we oversee and manage the Army's doctrine program. Here, on our RU-vid channel we'll post Army and Joint doctrine-related video content for your viewing. You can also catch us on our Facebook and X (Twitter) social media pages. We also produce a podcast we call 'Breaking Doctrine' where we discuss Army doctrine-related subjects with Army senior leaders, premier military thinkers, and subject matter experts. Our objective with these products is to enhance understanding of Army doctrine and make that doctrine more accessible to the Force. Have a suggestion? Drop us a line.
I was an operations sergeant in an MLRS unit 20 years ago. Wish I would have had some videos like this back in the day. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Hey this here is some not Government print office type thing that just messed up by failing the foreign service character of regular business so I want some regular course for just Justice Administration not some complicated version of what somebody assumes teaching defense would be, It is not taught and it is a job so making presentation groups about it was a no go I really meant that for instance work is only done with tags on inside of door is a regular standard maybe one that needs to be put in the beginning of strategic online briefings everyone does not get the same job so bringing everyone to know is difficult and the team is supposed to be able to communicate that the office supports different jobs without all of the work twords clearance overworking it's undermined basic duty determination in more than one case.
Thanks still on Navy All personnel from 12-12-91 mostly , news update insiders are using operational environment statements as grounds to seek age based complaints and Juristiction spoofing to disturb confidential sources so even if disclosed personnel can call Army Sharp Combatant command is still working.
When are you guys going to change that ridiculous stinger for your opening to these videos? It sounds like you took some overworked NCO going through his third divorce, hooked a lapel mic to him, and somehow got him to stub his toe in the worst way possible and thought "yeah that autistic scream of agony sounds good let's put this in videos about DOCTRINE". 🤣
Civil considerations would be using recon to fill in our knowledge about the environment such as areas, structures, capabilities, organizations, people or events.
Any long format videos in the process? I enjoyed them as a supplement to the actual pubs but the last long format was fm3 a year ago. I like using the videos, the lighting press smartbooks and the actual source material. 2nd question: Any chance of doing something like the smartbooks but in video format? Jw thanks for your hard work in these videos.
Thanks for your feedback. Yes - we just did a long format video on the new ADP 3-13, Information. You should see it at the top of our page. We're working on something new we call "Take 10" which will provide an overview of a single publication in roughly 10-minutes. It'll kind of be what you're describing as a video smartbook. If there's any knowledge gaps you're seeing from your foxhole that you'd like us to cover in the video shorts, let us know. We're always happy to get feedback.
FM 7-0 removed Unit Training Plans, and the new ADP left it out as well. Where is that material to be found? Leaving UTP out is a mistake, and it needs to be addressed.
The Unit Training Plan model has been replaced with the Training Management Cycle concept. The details for developing training plans and issuing annual training guidance are in Chapter 4: Training Management of ADP 7-0 and Chapter 3: Planning and Preparation of FM 7-0. However, as you’ve noted, the steps and terminology are different from the old Unit Training Plan. The new manuals focus on building Long-, Mid-, and Short-Range Training Plans, whereas the older manuals focused primarily on “Objective-T”. Thank you for the feedback on the manual. We have forwarded, your concerns to the doctrine authors who will certainly take your comments into consideration for future updates. If you’d like to send us a direct message with your email, we can also put you directly in touch with the authors for further discussion.
Good catch. This video was produced in September of 2021. At the time, FM 6-0 covered Command and Support relationships. The current FM 6-0 was published in 2022 at which time we moved the discussion of Command and Support relationships to the October 2022 version of FM 3-0.

It's sort of a 'horse to water' thing. 😉We try to make it easy to learn. What other videos do we need to do? Where do you see shortfalls in Soldier's understanding of doctrine? We're always looking for new ideas.
Okay, if I have time after my math test I'll try to find timestamps for chapters, but if someone wants to beat me to it just hop in the comments & add the times for sections in the video Example: [0:00:01 - 0:35:51] Start [0:35:51 - 1:11:42] Middle [1:11:42 - 1:11:43] End
Thanks for these videos as they are very informative. If deploying as Divisions, what plans are in place to support the local economies surrounding many US military installations along with all the civilian support jobs that would seemingly be impacted for 9-12 months at a time while nearly an entire installation would seemingly be deployed on rotations or large scale combat missions?
Why are we seeing this training information? Very interesting. Are the videos pirated and posted online for content, or is this a true sanctioned military education and outreach channel?
We're the real deal, the U.S. Army Combined Arms Doctrine Directorate (CADD) at Fort Leavenworth, KS. Our videos are intended to supplement Army doctrine, by explaining terms and concepts found in our publications. This is all original content that we produce in-house with a skeleton crew of active Army doctrine authors. We hope you enjoy them!
I always admired the way US army doctrine is constructed. It is far more comprehensive and less philosophical than Allied or other nations' doctrine. I myself are an army instructor in my country and i am successfully combining US Army doctrines like FM 3-90 and especially the MDMP relevant manuals, whith national doctrine and it turns out great. I just wonder if army officers from other Allied natiins can acces jobs at CADD. If not, no problem. Keep doing what you do and God Bless you. Cheers
