I really feel that the current algorithm doesn't promote many of my videos - some times ago I tried searching the arrangements that I have uploaded and they didn't show (possibly due to got buried by videos from other channel that got more views) 😂

thanks for the kind comment 🙂, the video actually already covered the steel string guitar as well - it covers both nylon and steel string focused on the most desirable sound (according to my preference) for fingerstyle playing for dreadnought size Martin with Indian Rosewood b&s, Adirondack Spruce is a cool top material if you mainly play flatpicking and strumming 😃
@@kenronagariguitar Thanks for replying me back, but your videos do not give good rating for Adirondack top and I completely agree to that I am not a fan of VTS. What would you suggest Italian Spruce or Sitka Spruce top with East Indian Rosewood back and side for Martin Dreadnought thanks
@RahulSharma-ry2pg the tierlist rating on the video is for fingerstyle playing, an interesting stuff that I observe on Adirondack Spruce is that it sounds balanced on flatpicking or strumming playing style but when played in fingerstyle, there is lack treble response for my liking - it's the reason why I put it lower on the tierlist but if the tierlist is for the best sound flatpicked/strummed, Adirondack Spruce easily places on S tier 👍 As for Sitka Spruce, it's ok for Indian Rosewood b&s but as I've mentioned in the video, since sound of Sitka Spruce is on the darker end compared to other spruce variants, the sound will be too dark (at least for my preference) if combined with Indian Rosewood which is also already on the darker sound spectrum (Italian Spruce in this case is much preferred tonewood choice if you have that option, but I'm not sure if you could get Italian Spruce top Martin on the lineup sold at guitar store, it might be available on the Martin Custom shop which you may need to pre-order it first - if I recall accurately a Martin Custom guitar may cost over USD 2000 which in this case is a really niche market, the guitar maker would even custom the inlays, bindings, bracings, etc 😂). The lineup readily sold at music store worldwide for a Dreadnought size Indian Rosewood b&s, the spruce top I think might only be limited to Sitka Spruce and Adirondack Spruce, if you mostly play strum chords or solo lick using plectrum then Adirondack Spruce is the recommended option but if you're planning to play mostly fingerpicking/fingerstyle, then I would recommend to purchase the Martin OM size over the Dreadnought 👍
@@kenronagariguitar Thanks for your detail response much appriciated ....since it will be through Custom... need to pick between Sitka and Italian as i personaly dont like Adirondac as it lacks clarity in tone ...it just got volume. My requirement is manily for flat pick with sometime finger style
@RahulSharma-ry2pg you're welcome! by the way could you confirm with the custom shop staff that the Italian Spruce in this case is Alpine Spruce? so I checked on RU-vid that the Italian Spruce used in the Martin Custom model was "Italian Alpine Spruce" instead of just "Italian Spruce", in the video I did the assessment on Alpine Spruce and based on my preference it is my least favorite sounding spruce due to its overly bright sound color. If you could choose European Spruce to the custom staff, I would recommend this over the Alpine Spruce (which sound is too bright) and Sitka Spruce (which sound is too dark), European Spruce/Indian Rosewood combination I think is cool for dreadnought when played flatpicked with plectrum or fingerpicking 👍 (here is an audio sample for European Spruce/Indian Rosewood dreadnought: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DaHwG4AcCmY.htmlsi=-7ZNzbEqJiW6efHI) edit: even better if you could request for German Spruce 👍, I prefer the sound of it to European Spruce: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VKO6Z-AknSY.htmlsi=cD3WTbUutmt3RSPP
This makes me feel so at peace. Theres something about it, maybe its because the original is already emotional enough but an acoustic guitar makes everything so much sadder. I love it.
I'm glad that you enjoy the cover! I agree that there is a magic in acoustic guitar which I could feel as well when trying to do the recording, it's interesting that the version that I'm doing here is a half key higher than the original track (it's been something like 12 years since I heard the tunes in the game dungeon and at the time of recording I was playing the tunes that I had in my recollection, turns out they were not the same with the actual song) 😂, I played the song in capo 2 while the original song will be in capo 1...but I also love this version too I think with one half higher key it surprisingly is less somber than the original (having said this while the original for me sounds darker and more somber, it definitely has its own charm and irreplaceable vibe of its own! 🙂)
I heard this combination of Lutz Spruce/Pernambuco I think the sound is magical! it’s too bad that the wood is only used in a really pricey high - end boutique guitar (I heard that the Pernambuco/Pau Brasil is getting scarcer), there are sound samples on RU-vid on the Lutz/Pernambuco by Cedar Rock Studio Guitar Gallery & The Golden Era Guitar channel in case you’d like to listen to the audio sample 😃 on a more mainstream wood I think Birdseye Maple complements nicely with Lutz Spruce as well 😃 (I tried having a listen with Indian Rosewood, Mahogany, and Cocobolo and for my personal preference I think Birdseye Maple has this distinct, more balanced sound that stands out, there is an audio sample of this on RU-vid by The North American Guitar at CVE channel 😃)

it took me about 5 days to put all the sections together (it's worth the work considering the video's dedicated to someone who actually enjoys playing fingerstyle guitar as well 😃) for my personal preference Port Orfort Cedar/Lawson Cypress is on the B tier as top (or b&s) tonewood material. Personally the characteristic that I'm looking for top tonewood is a bell - like sound with bright mood which most spruce has (and other woods like Sycamore and Cypress), this is the reason why I put Cedar and Redwood on B tier since they have darker mood. I think it is really interesting because Port Orford Cedar is on the Cypress family but when I compared to regular Cypress, the Lawson Cypress feels like the more subdued, darker mood version of the regular Cypress - even though both are cypress, the regular Cypress I feel like has this brighter mood which I didn't feel on Lawson Cypress (not sure if this is the reason why it's called "Cedar" for having similar dark mood with Cedar 😂). But if you are a fan of cedar sound (that is if on your personal tierlist you place Cedar on Tier S or A ), I think Lawson Cypress would be Tier S or A as well because both have similar dark mood (cedar has darker sound color and Lawson Cypress has brighter sound color, but the mood of both wood is dark - I think that sound color doesn't determine the mood of the sound for example Indian Rosewood has dark sound color but I find it to have a bright mood while Swiss Spruce has bright sound color but I find it to be having a dark, more somber mood)
