I realize this is a 6 year old video, but I hope yer still around. What are you using for the menu system? I haven't found a front end that works/looks like yours.
I am still around! I just developed a rather expensive obsession with real pinball. Be careful. Virtual is a gateway drug to the real thing. Anyway, here is the frontend I used. Best of luck on your project. www.pinballx.com/
Shaun on the DMD mine will only show pinballx over and over yours shows press start and launch ball and cool animations- help me please? I cant figure out what setting is not working ? Thank you sir!
Hi Richard. If you're talking about the sorting through the different games while in PinballX (before you select a specific table to play), I had a video file of recorded dmd outputs for each table. You just assign X video to play for X table in the pinballX settings. If you're talking after selecting a table. When you're actually playing a game, you have to make sure that you assign which monitor is going to be your dmd monitor in the settings of Visual Pinball, Future Pinball, Pinball FX or whatever program you're using. I hope this helps.
@@ShaunPurslow yeah so in this video at .57 sec mark you point at DMD of South Park and its got cool animations- mine just keeps saying pinballx- over and over- where do you find cool outputs for DMD? its the last step to make my set up legit!
Do you have DMD setting for a cabinet build just like your but with 4K screens? I can't get the DMD to show when I changed to 4k backless and playfield.
I wish it was only $1000. The cabinet legs, rails, coin box, and trim kit cost me almost $1000 CAD to get from the US. (Shipping was over $100 and the BS brokerage fees...) Then the plunger kit is around $150 I think, and a sub woofer, amp, and speakers about $100. A computer all depends on what you get, but a good video card will cost you about $800 now, and the rest of the machine... 43" to 46" TV playfield, 32" backglass, and 15" monitor would be about $600. The wood boxes and hardware, glass, and other misc stuff, probably another $250. My build was probably close to $5000 CAD. And now all it needs is sound activated lighting, some solenoids, and a couple other internal pinball realism stuff added over time. Well worth every penny to me though, cuz I love pinball!
Awesome, I watched this a couple years back and it inspired me to build mine. Put out another vid with all the updates and upgrades you've done to it over the past few years! Good to meet you in real life today!
If you've done anything new with your machine in the last four years, you should consider another video. This one might have more views than any other VP video out there. Many people (including me) have been influenced by it!
Hey thanks so much! I actually ended up completely rebuilding the entire cabinet from the ground up just a couple weeks ago. I should post a new video. Stay tuned!
Question? How did you find out your tv monitors hexadecimal values? Did you use a device or is there a archived list on the web? I understand that I have to translate that into Binary then use coding possibly sent from an arduino to turn it on. My monitor doesn't auto turn on and I really want to do this. Thank you!
@@ShaunPurslow Yes, thanks, I know it but it requires a lot of wotk and configuration searching, downloading and renaming files like wheels, back glass, music and video files and I assumed that maybe you could create a torrent to share it with us.
HI Shaun, I just stumbled upon your video as I am looking to build the same table. Do you have any documentation on yours that you would be willing to share?
Hi Shaun, I got the MCE remote that you had linked to today but I am CLUELESS on how to set it up in eventghost. I downloaded EG, plug in the IR receiver...do I use the actual remote to learn the VIZIO IR code? It's a vizio TV...
Hey man your post inspired me to build my own. I have the same issue with my play field TV it will not come on by the smart strip can you shed any insight into the device you bought to send the IR signal? Thanks
Hi there. I used a USB based IR transmitter. It was some old windows media center device I had that came with a remote control for windows. It was able to send and receive IR signals using Windows. Once you get that hooked up you will need a program like Event Ghost to send a signal to the TV to "power on" using that device once windows boots up. I will link to a similar one I found on ebay below.. Hope this helps. www.ebay.com/itm/Gateway-Windows-Media-Center-OVU4003-00/283773501170?hash=item421237fef2:g:QsYAAOSwTRZeO3pa
Shaun Purslow you are a lifesaver! This was driving me crazy. I actually took apart one of the remotes and rigged a power switch to the power button but that did not work. Thanks a TON!
Im just starting to get some bits and pieces together to start my build. Loved you video but where did you get the parts e.g. legs, plunger and the pieces that hold in the glass? Do you have a tutorial anywhere?
Virtuapin is excellent. This is where I got the legs, lockdown bar, plunger. They have a really great bundle too that comes with a lot of it. Just don't overpower your lights. virtuapin.net/
Probably much more easier than the old ones. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tfSX6qKSVx8.html In one clic, you can a exact anamorphic vision of Elvira..Ghostbusters or others, nice.
