I help aspiring pianists learn piano in a more fun and musical way.

The videos on this channel will help you build confidence at the piano and learn your core piano skills whilst playing real music you can be proud to play.

Simply sitting down at the piano, relaxing and letting beautiful music flow from your fingers is a truly wonderful feeling. Everything I teach will help and guide you towards this goal.

If you want help through my structured piano programs, you can check out the links on this page. Happy playing.

This is great, mate thanks. It's a technique which elludes me at the moment and whenever i try it it sounds like a mess. This should help me start with the basics and build things up, and i guess it'll be transposable into other keys.

Wow, youre a brilliant piano tutor. Your passion, enthusiasm and generosity shines through. Love boogie woogie. I will definitely attempt this practice daily. I'm a beginner and attend weekly lessons for 2 years and feel a bit stuck atm. In my 70s and wondering how your courses work!

This is so cool! How would I adapt patterns like these to 7th chords (which inherently have 4 important notes in them instead of 3)?

First of all.... Just because I want help with my scales doesn't mean I don't know anything about the piano or even scales etc. I started in 1974 when I was 7 and I had lessons all the way through 11th grade. But my teacher never made me "Do Scales" per se. So I am a somewhat accomplished player because I've been at it for so long and I also play several instruments like Clarinet and Saxophone. But this doesn't mean that I am a PRO at scales minors and majors etc etc. I know a great deal already but I still am not good at fast, smooth scales. Because this is mostly about THEORY and most people dont teach themselves theory, they just want to be ab le to "play something". Theory class explains to you WHY you are doing this (scales). And I've only had limited theory classes in high school...the 80's My point is don't just assume that because someone needs help with scales...there is SO MUCH MORE to it than what you'r doing here....that I need to start at the first grade level. Teach scales for someone who is already accomplished and don't treat me like i'm 7 yrs old.

I can't make heads or tails of this mate. It seems conflicted. This video wasn't made for you personally. If you got something out of it then great! If not, thats ok too.

Great, but the parts where you demonstrate the runs include additional notes and cords that are not covered in the video. can you post sheet music or list out these notes. The notes yu show go by way, way too fast to follow.

As someone who is at a grade 3 level and learning specifc pieces for exams, how can I add emotion when the temp and volume is set. I can't play forte if the piece says pianissimo for example. Are there any techniques for adding emotion in this setting, when working from sheet music that has these requirements since I would be marked down for ignoring them?

I love the way you teach! In one day I have become possibly good at two of these patterns and gotten a start on learning the others. No one else teaches things in a way that makes you feel this confident this quickly!

How simple are the 3 steps if it takes 11 minutes to explain them???
@Creativepianoacademy
@Creativepianoacademy 21 день назад
Well what the f do you want? The skills to just be downloaded into your brain with no time or effort needed? If you can't cope with 11 minutes of effort or concentraation... I'm sorry to say, piano is not for you. Move along!
