If you're looking for good humored and more importantly honest opinions on movies and tv, both new and classic , than you have come to the right place and the beauty of it is you don't have to agree. After all the name of the channel is So, what did I think?
A great classic indeed. But imho it is time for a new movie about D-Day. Think of a broader view as in TLD, but with visuals like SPR. The vast scale of the landings can be recreated with AI soldiers in the background and real actors up front, think the ride of the Rohirrim in Jackson's LOTR. Look at the great job they did in The Pacific or Letters from Iwo Jima. Bring it on!
It’s been my favorite movie since I was a kid growing up in Ft. Bragg surrounded by the 82nd Airborne. …and it’s the first book I ever read from cover to cover. This movie is a very big deal in my life. I got to visit Normandy for a very short day- it’s hallowed grounds.
@@carte0000blanche Haven't seen Masters of the Air yet but Butler is excellent...in this role , I also thought he was excellent in Dune ( a completely different character) but at this stage he has yet to prove he has the range that Hardy has for different roles
I just watched THE RETURN OF THE KING. I guess there really is no point now in watching THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING. Why did Jackson make that movie? He could have just skipped right to the ending. - This reviewer.
As for me...I think it's the best film in the franchise. Unnecessary? Sure. Name me a movie-- ANY movie-- that was necessary. We could have just kept reading books. Furiosa is character-driven, it expands the lore of this universe more than any other entry, and it has the mind-blowing action we expect. The story and acting are brilliant. The CGI did not distract me at all. What this movie's box office failure proves is that the Mad Max films are not as popular as the fans, myself included, wish them to be. Not enough people are into this twisted, weird apocalypse. And that's a damn shame. We'll probably never get another Mad Max film.
And as I always say if you enjoy the film than that is fantastic! After all the channels called "So, what did I think? " All views are legitimate...unless you try to convince me the Twilight films are good, that's a step too far ;) And It's not a bad movie it's as I said deeply flawed and the acting is top notch but I think the mistake made was having a Mad Max film ...without Max! I think that is actually the reason it hasn't performed well.
My favorite actor would be Robert Wagner. The worst actor was John Wayne. John, I think, ruined the movie. Many great actors like Eddie Arnold and Robert Mitchem. I am 76. My dad was at Normandy and later was seriously wounded in the battle of the bulge.
thanks for watching, that's why I pointed out even Wayne has his moment in this film. I'm Irish but a lot of Cousins on my mothers side fought in the war...one cousin visited and stayed a few weeks at my Grandfathers farm and left his old GI field jacket behind...deliberately. Back in the eighties Military surplus jackets were all the rage in school and my mother got her cousins coat for me out of a cupboard, I wore it til it fell apart , one thing I noticed was a darn in the jacket arm and what appeared to be rust stains...all my mother said was he told them he got the hole in his jacket while he was in the service..." at some place called Bastogne" 😯
@@sowhatdidithink4205 I had two Uncles that fought in the battle of the Bulge. One was a gay radio operator in Patton’s Army, the other was one of those thought to be dead an frozen, but made a nose when he was being loaded on a truck- and survived.
Haven't seen it since I was a kid - my main memory is "My old grandmother used to say anything mechanical, give it a good bash", and it was a very long film.
That's why I call the channel So, what did I think, it's okay to have a different view and if you enjoy something I didn't that's fantastic! One of my guilty pleasures is the 2nd Aliens Vs Predator ;)
I was so excited for this movie. I loved Fury road. But 30 minutes I thought "This is complete, utter crap". It's a revenge movie where revenge isn't even part of the character arc for like an hour and then at the end she decides.......at some point....to go after Dementus(who actually isn't that bad for a post apocalyptic maniac and viewed Furiosa as a daughter so that killed the audience participation in her goal). WTF man? This is a dead ass movie. The road warrior is still the best.
Bring back Gibson for a Mad max finale. NO CGI allowed and a reduced budget where stuntmen have to sign a waiver and insurance ccompanies are kept out of the loop.
Soooooo disappointed and dissatisfied! Such a fan of almost everyone in this movie and yet, the plot has so many flaws that were not necessary, the main one being that THERE IS NO PROBLEM TO BEGIN WITH! IF aims to be a positive inversion of the Sixth Sense yet forgets to tell a story with a main character and therefore tries to tie it all together with sentimental moments and funny sidelines that have too little to lean on. Terrible shame cause a great premise, lovely art direction, incredible cast but very poor story telling for 70% of the time
Though I am disappointed that you were disappointed , this is why the Channel is called So, what did I think? Thanks for giving your view on what you thought!
I bet it's gonna be a great movie I've not gotten the chance to watch the full film just yet just the trailer and it seems like it's definitely one for the family and it's gonna be a great movie! Looking forward to it!!❤🎉😅😂
I think any Yank, sorry, American that would watch this would find it a hard thing to look at, I suppose for anyone else it will be just another film, but as they say, I just hope Life doesn't imitate Art again.....
My apologies if the budget is incorrect...thats the amount I read it was made for. If it is 2 million than that makes what they achieved even more spectacular.
