They said if ole Miss would have jumped to a 14-0 lead Kentucky wouldn't have had a chance in that game. Lmao, well fellas the last time Kentucky played ole Miss which wasn't that long ago, they had quinshon Judkins, and the same gimmick offense. Guess what, they jumped on Kentucky early with a 14-0 lead, guess what happened? Kentucky shut them down and came back and should have won the game. To keep it 💯, the last two times Kentucky played ole Miss they bullied them, looked like the better team, but ultimately lost boy 1-3 points because they couldn't kick a FG. Well it showed again, Kentucky is just better than ole Miss. It is what it is. If they played again tomorrow Kentucky would probably win again.
Time will tell. If he doesn’t make a FF in his first 5 seasons might be time to move on. I know that’s sounds rushed but consider the new transfer rules and NIL making recruiting fairly easy when you have deep pockets which UK has as evidenced by the recruits he is signing. I’m excited for him and think he can do it. But if he can’t get a FF in 5 seasons it just ain’t gonna happen. Also, several coaches turned us down. Dan Hurley and Scott Drew turned us down in official negotiations. Donovan turned us down, for the third time, when asked in several interviews about the opening. And Jay Wright turned us down on live national tv when asked. After those names there just weren’t many exciting hires left to go after. Maybe Nate Oates but I’m really a fan of a guy who played an accomplice to murder of a pregnant woman- call me crazy.

It doesn't really matter who starts game 1. Probably be 7-8 different guys start before season end. Pope can coach. Big 12 was one of the best if not the best conference last year. He did great at BYU. No offense to Byu but this Kentucky team has more talent. The SEC is just as tough as the big 12 though. Pope will go farther in year 1 than UK has gone in several years.
Kentucky at 9-3 with losses to Texas UGA and South Carolina isn’t getting into the playoff. That South Carolina loss at home single handedly ruined any chance of that
There is no way Brea starts over Oweh. Brea shot 49% and only averaged 10.8 ppg for a mid major. I just don't see him starting over Oweh. Its hard for Brea to create shots and he struggles at driving to the basket and defense. Like I said I see Oweh starting over Brea.
Carr is the best offensive player on the team. He's a poor mans Larry Bird. I think he has a big year this year. Jaxson and Carr will be a potent one two punch. I think Oweh starts. The only thing about Pope is he actually plays his bench. His teams usually go 10-11 deep. So just about everyone will get playing time. Its up to them what they do with the playing time.
A big part of our success this year will be our depth. It's okay for someone like Brea to not have a good night sometimes. We rotate in Krissa or Perry, and play the hot hand. Amari gets tired? No big deal, we'll sub in Carr or Garrison. It's like this at every positon. Most teams are going to have to play 5-6 guys for 99% of the game against us. Thats tough.
The only one I'm not sure about is Brea. With his history of leg issues I suspect he will be on a "pitch count". Him coming off the bench makes sense too. Will be fun to find out.
Let me guess, you still think arkansas stole Cal from UK hahaha. Yeh 1st round upsets in the tournament really makes UK fans upset Cal left . I mean if UK goes to the NIT will be better than what Cal will do at arkansas and has done here at UK last 10 yrs lol

I'm excited to have a team with a bunch of established players where we know at least roughly how they will perform. Very different from having to hope and guess how the guys will fit.

Sad thing, is that Cal COULD coach- when he got his ego out of the way. Especially defense. The early and mid-tenure Cal teams had some significant D. But he proved to be inflexible and put other goals above winning. @@mikesmith5799
I honestly believe he’ll do a lot better than the critics think. He’s an awesome coach and has put together some really good veteran players. I can hardly wait until basketball season
I mean he came into the nation's toughest conference last year in 1/23 games and beat Kansas beat Kansas State beat North Carolina State beat Gonzaga he is the real deal already!!
as long as they don’t party all week on their bye week 8-4 is still the goal. tennessee and texas should be the ONLY losses. louisville is mid this year
I get what you are saying but let’s be honest, who doesn’t do that? Almost every single team in the country drops one or two they shouldn’t every single year. That is one of the biggest differences in today’s game compared to the rich brooks era and before that. The game now along with the transfer portal has become more of a level playing field than it ever has. Just take the sec, vandy, UK, miss state even ole miss were all push overs. Vandy has shown they can compete. Now they may not win every game but they are not pushovers nor is Kentucky. Talent is a lot more spread out now compared to a decade or two ago and it shows. So yes it sucks to take loses to teams you think you are better than but at the same time 50/50 games are just that, 50/50.
