I am all for doing maintenance on tanks, but tearing it all down every few months to completely rescape is not for me. I love watching others do aquascapes, though! I'm still trying to find myself some long finned albino cories. What little beauties.
I agree with you, I can't stand people that change their tank every 6 months. Just enjoy and watch it evolve over time, and find ways to make it interesting!! Not just change it after 4 months. That's just crazy! Thanks for sharing. Cheers from San Diego. Awesome plants.
@@SafiScapes I have not used root tabs in this tank, Safi. The primary source of fertilization is fish waste. I believe aquasoil holds its integrity much longer than many believe. Moreover, I think great lights plus Co2 plus TLC really matter. And maybe a little luck ;)
@@SafiScapes You're very welcome. PS: I should say that I do use an "all-in-one" fert but honestly it's the other factors I listed in previous comment that really make it pop!

As far as the space I can promise that you would have a lot of choices for the nicest fish rooms on social media and I have seen my share but nobody is going to have their space as impeccable and as healthy or mult display perfectly suited for this Historical space !! 💙💚
All the plant changes are looking great. I finally found some pogo stem octopus ( spelling??). I love the way it look in your tank so I have been searching for it. Planted several pieces in 3 of my tanks. Happy to report in one tank it has doubled in size. It is growing in other 2 also. Just not as fast.
I first saw those glass or acrylic plant containers with the suction cups in one of your tanks and really liked it a lot. I bought 2 of them for my 60 gallon tank and love them. Thanks for the idea.
How excited I was when I discovered another local fish-keeping aquascaper. (My first apartment in Chicago was on LSD) Your projects are beautiful. I discovered your channel last week after looking at Phillip's Fish Works and saw you introduced a "Bug Bag" into one of your tanks. I'm presently awaiting a bag of bugs of my own, not without some anxiety of releasing worms into my tank. Specifically planeria. The idea of having flat worms purposely introduced to my "clean" tank makes me feel unsettled. Can any of the aqua life in these bags parasitize my fish? Do you have any regrets introducing the Bag of Bugs into your tank? Just wanted to leave a comment on how cool it is to be able to see your tanks on my big screen TV on RU-vid. Thanks for taking the time to document your beautiful creations and fish. Now I'm off to do a water change on my 14 gallon overstocked Aqueon Cube. Overstocked due to my 5 Corydoras turning into 9. Who knew they would easily reproduce in a community tank shared with 11 Harlequin Rasboras, 1 Betta, and 4 Amano Shrimp? PS Where did you get your Christmas Moss from? Will it grow in low light? Or does it prefer high light?

@@LushSaltyAquariums Lake Shore and Schiller. I might look for those moss racks on Etsy and see if my moss does any better. I'm now in the Near North suburbs. I miss some things about the city but I love having a car now.
Looks better than any TV you could have put there for sure! The variety of different types of plants, not just colors, but leaf shapes,makes the eye always see something different. Will be interesting to see the re-scape you mentioned and what you decide to do. I bet you find plants and fish you forgot you had in there. Your gonna feel like a kid in a candy store!
This tank should be seen by aquarists looking for the potential size of some fish. Some have mentioned the "dwarf" (they are relatively) rainbows but those rasboras are often suggested for 15-20gallons, and that reticulated algae eater, too. It's massive.
Stunning tank as always! I believe those cories are duplicareus as adolfoi have very thin black bar on top. Also adolfoi are extremely rare in the hobby and most are wild caught
Praecox truly are under rated fish, a fun bit of info about them is that even though it is assumed that they are a Melanotaenia species there is evidence that they may be a Chilatherina Species. I look forward to the day when I can have a tank as awe inspiringly large and well stocked as yours.
@@LushSaltyAquariums I think the significance of this possible distinction is mostly for people breeding rainbowfish as different genus of fish are less likely to interbreed. I am no expert but several of the cladograms I found online suggested Praexcox was within Chilatherina, and a Rainbowfish Breeder I know suggested the same thing but until genetic testing is preformed it will remain unclear, they could very well end up remaining in the genus they are currently in.
You might not be an interior design channel, but your place looks really nice, well decorated and all. And of course the tank is top notch, as is your taste in fish! Agreed, doing the maintenance yourself, keeping hands in the tanks, that's how you keep the passion going, and how you keep learning.
The size of those praecox rainbows is incredible. I've never seen them that big before, and mine certainly didn't get that big. Very impressive display
I try to feed my betta fish (ralF) the livest of food. Although i give him pellets mostly. He is happy with the bloodworms i have. Unfortunately they're frozen and i now want live worms.
Remember to be patient everyone. I thought i got sold a bad batch cuz i didnt see anything for a while but like 3 weeks after i got a bag of bugs it exploded overnight.
