It's egg, After that she gathers a bunch of caterpillars that she paralyzes and puts them into the brood cell so her larva will have something to feed off. And then close the entrance to block the predators and parasites. When the young wasps grow up they'll be able to break it.

Seeing one for the first time was kind of funny. It did a little dance, then it went bzzz bzzz bzzz and tapped it's antennae in the mud as it made a little mud ball. They're very docile.
Did anyone see mud daubers fly carrying mud pots? The pots were tiny, black. It's like cartoon characters came to live. I had seen this when I was a child.
