once you play around with them, get painters tape and put it on the carrier sheet side with the type of HTV that it is so you know for future reference 😉
the parchment paper that i use is from Dollar Tree so you can def use any! as for teflon sheets, i feel like those may give the transfers some texture since it's not completely flat you get me? 😊
To not get the white outline on the black, when designing/printing, put a black weed box behind the design so when it cuts any minute differences will be in black.
i think soda ash is used on a lot of dyes to allow the dye to stick. i personally never use it, but a lot of people do. you don't necessarily have to buy every little thing just to dye something. just get the main supplies and hope for the best 🤣🤣

If you set it in the dye and then just left it alone, didn't stir or anything, would it make a cool design of different shade intensities or would it still all just be one shade?
it would definitely not be a consistent shade. since the fabric folds, more parts would get more of the dye than others and you could end up with marks where the folds are. it would give you a design, but more of a folded design if that makes sense lol.
Two questions out of curiosity 😅, can HTV’s be put on things like shirts or pants, and can HTV’s be washed in a washing machine or dryer and not be ruined?
HTV can be pressed on mostly all fabrics! if pressed correctly, you can wash them a bunch of times in the washing machine and they won't come off. you can also dry some, but i like the air dry mine just in case 😊

this particular dye only works with natural fibers like cotton. prom dresses are rarely cotton so make sure you double check the material type. you may need to use Rit Dyemore which is made for synthetic fabrics like polyester 😊
