This was clearly an early demo version of Love's Secret Domain (L.S.D.) (and as it says, "not meant for release") , but the track names changed and some are just mixed up: "Fidget" got morphed into what became "Further Back and Faster" on L.S.D. "Dark River" was mostly the same as on L.S.D. ...Then they messed up on the label or something because "Teenage Lightning" and "Window Pain" are flipped on the track listing "Titan Arch" stayed mostly the same "Scope" didn't make it to be a track on L.S.D. "Carver's and Gliders" became "Chaostrophy" on L.S.D. "Love's Secret Domain" is basically the same as on the release of L.S.D. -Cheers to my fellow Coil fans!
This whole soundtrack I downloaded in 2000, and I would listen to it while I wrote short stories with the hellraiser storyline. I'm glad this music was preserved digitally!
This is a somewhat radically different recording than the one that made it onto the 1992 "Tracksuit Vendetta" LP. Tracy Tracy's voice (frontwoman for the "Primitives") is front and center in this version. On the album you can't even hear her. I am not sure she is even on that recording. This is one of those lovely gems that slipped thru the cracks. I like both versions but this take, found on the B-side of the 12" single "Claudia Dreams.," is really something. Good luck finding it though. Needle in a haystack at this point but you can hear the sublime thing here. Truly pretty and affecting song. By the way the A side "Claudia Dreams" is a tuneful upbeat number. So well worth the trouble of finding it albeit chances are pretty good you won't locate a copy. I have a 12 inch copy at home but I have nothing to play it on. I am very familiar with most everything The Band of Holy Joy made thru this time period but for the life of me I can't remember the second B-side number called "Jellybaby." Bregenz is definitely one of the best PTV live albums, besides Reykjavik, Ritz, Tokyo and Berlin. Unfortunately the forward version is not available on record. I have turned it around myself using a mixing tool. Thanks for the upload!
LYRICS We, the host of Seraphim, the armies of bright, We do not rue the dire event That, with sad overthrow and foul defeat, hath lost us heaven. Ever to do ill will be our sole delight, Reassembling our afflicted powers On the burning lake of liquid fire. Hail horrours! Hail infernal world! Here at last we shall be free! Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven!
I used to fall asleep to this track every night at full volume! I remember my mom always calling it funeral music.. in a sense I guess it is? Whenever I take a shower I always have this track on play 🎹🎛️👌 BrAp oN!!¡!✋✌️
