My mother died right before Thanksgiving in 2020. The day she died It was between two movies....Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Beaches - I chose Beaches even though it has nothing to do with Thanksgiving. It just felt right

One of Bette’s very best renditions of a classic song. Enormously moving. It may seem silly to some but I waved to my Mom like that after she died. It’s like saying, please don’t go, but we’ll see each other again. Like trying to give them one last hug.
My sister and I watched this movie together all the time. She was 16 years older than me. This was our movie and forever young was our song. I miss you and love you sis!
This song is my mums song to me and she's not only my mum but my best friend and the one person who has been there she has been my mum and my dad and my my best friend she is one in a million lady she knows who she is and I couldn't have asked for a better person to be her love u mum xxx
This song and well movie reminds me of my late best friend Betsy. 😢 she died if breast cancer. Found out she was pregnant and had cancer the same day.. ❤ she was a fighter... hugs to all that can relate. The laughter is deep the pain is real the memories are forever.
I love how her style of singing the song changes over time, from childish bouncy, to loud theatre and finally as she her self has loved, been loved, lost love she ends up singing the song with so much tenderness and experience.

Bette Midler is always one of my favorite singers. I love this version of “Glory Of Love.” But this scene in Beaches had in tears. So sad Hilary passed away unexpectedly in this movie.
In the novel Bertie (not Hillary) dies of cancer, and CC moves in to be with her until she dies. I liked the movie much more than the novel, but they changed the plot so much that at times it looks like a different story altogether
I remember being a little one and my mother crying so much at this movie. I lost her several years ago, but I'll never lose the memories of her singing this to me. I have not found it in me to watch the entire movie as an adult. I don't know that my heart could handle it. One day.
Beaches is a movie that will rip my my heart out, stomp on it and drain all of my happiness; Only to willingly allow it to happen again after a couple of years when I decide to watch it again.
