What settings in the tool database did you use foe the bowl bit? I have a CNC but I'm not sure what settings to use. Also, is it set up as an endmill or form tool?
Very nice. I really appreciate you supplying the bit, and feed & speed specs. I've got a Shapeoko, and after one bad experience cutting aluminum, decided to stick to wood. But I may try brass now, after seeing your video. Thanks!
Oh wow!!! Why didn't I think of this (maple over walnut)! This doesn't need paint and solves the problem of trying to paint inside the cut and have to deal with bleeding and such! Thanks!!
Good efforts.... But I must mention you really don't need to do these things the way you make.... The objects you made can be done very easily without carpentry work.... Eg... No need to make seperate frame for photo, no need to stick two different sheets just to see different color in clock numbers.. All these jobs can go in one...
I noticed you made the eyes and nose of the skull tray really deep, why not make it a lot more shallow since they were being filled with epoxy. Would save time on cutting and epoxy used
Had the opportunity to deal with this company the other day. class acted all the way, had my router bits sent to me in Canada in two days. Thank you @bits & bits
Just came across this video. I don't see many people using a 30 degree bit so was cool to see. I was curious if you have seen the Amazing Grace signs with the lyrics and music notes in background. Most ppl use a 60 degree but I am curious if you think 30 degree would be better for the details.
Astra Coating is a nano-coating that we apply to our tools, and it's primary purpose is to help lower the friction when the tool is cutting through your material. With less friction, there is less heat build up; less heat will allow the tool to stay sharper longer. There is nothing more frustrating when you're learning a new process than to have your tools not behave as you would expect. We have a lot of customers that come to us after using less expensive bits that fall apart or become dull after a short usage and start burning their wood. Whiteside router bits are well known to be a high quality, long lasting tool. Coupled with the Astra Coating, you will have a reliable, quality set of bits that will last for a long time.
