Currently just under $40 US here in the States for a can. I did a full size Bronco using the bottles and the Schultz gun. I got a special gun for a more smoother but still textured finish. I need to redo my tail gate and go the cans. It seemed the most efficient at the time. I have not used them yet. How chunky did the bed turn out? Hard to tell from the video. Maybe compare it to sand paper grit? Hopefully you still respond on this page.
How many bottles did it take for your Bronco? I'm coating my CJ5 exterior, and the bottles and gun seem to be a better deal than the cans at $40 plus here in Texas. Thanks.
@@shickenchits8123 Definitely go with the Bottles. Body took 8 bottles. (88 Full Size Bronco) The Top and accessories took 6 Bottles. ( I sprayed heavy for the top) I went with the tintable and added UPOLs Basalt Grey for the Bronco Body. 6 may have worked, but Amazon sent me a light grey tint pack mixed in with my basalt grey and I didn't catch it until I sprayed it. I did the top and grill, in Black. Plus the side mirrors and a safari rack and the chrome around the headlight assembly. The sprayers are not meant for fine controlled work. I had a lot of over spray for the smaller items and the rack. Tape and cover everything. Mind your spray distance. The standard gun in the kit gives a heavy textured coat. I bought an Adjustable gun (UPOL- UP4880) to get a finer texture for the body. It came out real nice. (80 grit sandpaper) I used a fairly small Porter Cable air compressor. 150psi/2.5sqfm If prepped correctly, and you use the adhesion promoter, this stuff is tough. I did mine in 2018. It still looks great. I have to use a power washer on it a couple times a year and that's it. I would get a 6 bottle kit for your Jeep. The kicker is that once mixed you have an hour to spray and then have to wait 20 minutes between coats. You have to clean the gun immediately between bottles. I just dropped the tube into a can of acetone and sprayed it out good. I wasn't comfortable mixing multiple bottles at once. I wanted the consistency to be exact each spray. Also do not mess around with any N95. Get yourself a full mask with replaceable filters. Glasses and nitrile gloves. Watch your air hose. The stuff is like glue once sprayed on. DM me on X and I can offer some pics of my truck if interested. @Celty1795085
Thanks Adam - I am trying to replace the rear brake rotors and Pads on my I30N , and I am having trouble pushing the piston back. Handbrake I think. How to proceed????
They may need screwing in mate. Not all rear pistons are push in. You can buy a multi tool that snaps onto yr ratchet and screw them in. Make sure you release the valve also.
The air filter gave me a laugh- I once bought a 1978 504 Diesel that looked identical to the one you have there. It was very cheap because the oil light would come on while driving. But the diesel oil pressure sender illuminates the light if oil pressure is too low OR if the filter is clogged and bypassing. Rev up the engine and the light came on. Where did the crud come from? The air filter looked just like that! Sticky pieces of filter foam were consumed in addition to dirt from the air. Changed the filters and oil and everything was fine.
Hello, maybe you know does the worn engine mounts makes vibration when you accelarating and the sterring wheel shakes also. Also vibrating when i put to Reverse or Drive
Damn... I wonder what the weight difference between the full can and an empty can is and then the $/per unit difference between the convenience of a can vs the roll-on vs the spray stuff is. It just seems insane that it takes 8 cans to do a truck bed.
Just from personal experience, when spraying, especially when inexperienced, have a roller ready just in case you put it on heavy some where and cause a run. Excellent job bud, good luck with the build.
These old Hilux's are very well built cars. New car's are not built to this level of quality I dont think. I have a 38 year old YN55 with a 1Y engine. I love it I dont ever plan to sell it I also had the carburettor rebuilt but I sent it down to Wilson Carburettors in Victoria. After it came back the car was running heaps better
Yea mine is a 2007 and in excellent condition took her out yesterday and what a surprise she ran like it was a lexus so comfortable and the power from the 3.3 engine was fantastic I'm very pleased
Do you still have it. My first ute was an Ln65 that my dad had from new. I fixed it well enough to drive for many years it was trusty rusty. I went to restore it and after 6 months getting fully pulled apart cab off panels all sand blasted filled and primed I had to sell it in parts. Would love another one. One day
My brother owned a mint mx3 back in 2008 ish. Swapped in a KLZE (not DE) and turbo’d back when those motors were more readily available and not beat to crap. Car was increased fast. Would definitely buy one myself if I found a decent one.
Test drove one of these at the weekend. Great car, fantastic fun to drive, the DCT auto box is immaculate. But, obnoxiously loud, so unless you are a boy racer that still gets turned on by that sort of thing, it would be a bit irritating to live with in a residential setting. I much prefer a nice note under load than a car that's popping and banging at 30-40mph. Also the firm ride, even on its softest setting, was way too harsh for the quality of roads near me. If you have nice road, no issue, you will love the handling. That all said, I preferred it to the GTI (nice but less character) and the 128Ti (terrible autobox, switch to FWD was a mistake by BMW for the 1 series)
