Loved Tig with Venus. She was the only woman who understood him and he her. I still crack up at the doll scenes and the scene of him in the pink, satin robe.
best tv series in decades. disgustingly underrated. quality dialogue. quality acting. quality editing. beautifully creates magic in the mundane. why have i only discovered this masterpiece now ?!!
Stan, "maybe you got this backstopped but I'm not some traffic cop." Philip should have replied, "That's funny, because maybe a traffic cop having lived opposite a KGB agent for 5yrs would have figured something was up."
People seem to think simply saying "the implication!1!!1" is legit the entirety of the joke without realizing that entire scene is clowning on dennis and creepy, rapey dudes; and commenting on how fucked up things are for women to have those fears
"Never too late to start over." You can see how Tina is terrified of Syd as the young up and comer there to push out the old guard and leave her unemployed. However, Syd completely defied Tina's expectations by offering her an opportunity to learn and evolve as a chef. I love this series and what I believe to be its main theme of growth and purpose. Every character is changing, adapting or evolving. Carm rejecting the established toxicity of the restaurant industry. Syd found her home after her business failed. Ritchie finding his true calling as a maitre D in his mid 40's. Marcus discovered a true love of patisserie. Tina developing her craft to the next level. Sugar fighting through her family trauma to become a restaurant manager. Even Ebrahim, who couldn't keep up in culinary school still found a place making the former italian beef sandwiches.
