Follow us as we set out to create lifelong experiences by living full time in our RV traveling and exploring the country. To sustain ourselves we find seasonal jobs along the way.
We were referred by friends that worked there. When we worked in Sanford we stayed at Twelve Oaks RV Park. Last year when we were in Fort Myers we stayed at Lakes Park RV
I never guessed this would be Craig and Kelly by the name but you are great people and we thank you for referring us! When Nancy mentioned it to us we just jumped on it so she knew right away we were on board with that schedule and it worked out with the other peoples schedules.
Hey neighbors it good to know you are close by, or we're not long ago. I don't know if you have my phone number (Rachel) or Leslie 's but I would like to talk to you both.
In Navajo, Anasazi means "ancient enemy" and it is considered to be a very negative term or insult. White anthropologists picked up the term from the Navajo and didn't realize it wasn't the actual name of an ancient tribe. The Navajo probably get a laugh out of hearing the Pueblo People's ancestors now being called the Anasazi. They should really try to fix this.
Love your videos.. I am definitely a subscriber very helpful. Im new first year, where can i workamer during the winter months. My wife is on disability and can't work she can volunteer. I can work. And we're looking for a good place to go. Honest and trust worthy and nice. I've been environmental services/ Maintenance supervisor last 16 years. Thank u...Roger
Hi Roger! Thank you for watching! The last few years, in the winter, we worked at Big Sports Cart in Florida Malls and Bowlin Travel Center in New Mexico. They also have locations in Arizona. We have videos on both in our workamping playlist. We also use the winter time to visit our family in North Carolina, Alabama and Florida.
Looks like you guys have about as much luck with winter weather in Texas as we do! I'm cold just watching you guys lol. Stay warm, stay safe and I hope things warm up for you soon.
Thanks Sandra, hope you and your family are doing well. We haven't been doing as many videos, but try to put one out every now then for those who follow us. Thanks and happy New Year 🕛
Karla was awesome. I worked their over the summer of 2023 and 11 workampers walked off the job due to Kevin's emotional and metal abuse. It got so bad that a workamper couple who have been there for 6 seasons said they would Never go back. Glad you two had a good experience but the owner is terrible!
Karla is awesome! Sorry you had a bad experience. You sure have let everyone know! We have work camped many places and they all have been places that gave us a pretty good experience. If we didn't like one it was still an experience that we had and made the best out of. We may not go back and that's ok to just move on and not dwell on it. Thank you for watching our video and best of luck on you next adventure!
We got down to 10 and have been running our furnace pretty high and still froze up. Probably because we have been under 20 for many hours. It maybe after this weekend when it warms up before we can dump our tanks and get more water.
I have a question about your upcoming Christmas Job? How did you find that job and where do you park your RV? Does this company help with your RV parking expenses? I always hear that everyone has a hard time finding RV parks during the winter. We are going to be looking for a job in Florida next year 2024. Thank you for your help.
Hello! We saw the job originally on Workamper.com a few years ago and didn't take it because the RV park was too far for the location. We met some people in Washington at another work camping job a couple of years ago and they worked with Big Sports Cart for a few years and really liked it. That's when we reapplied. We worked at the Sanford mall last year. They paid for half of the site cost. I guess we did a good job and they put us in a busier mall this year and are paying most all of the cost. It can be expensive in Florida but usually November and December are less than January thru April.
Thanks for the update! We love hearing what you guys are up to! We know exactly what you mean about the videos, it’s a lot to keep up with…you just do what works for you guys! Safe travels! 😃
Glad to see you back. You two will absolutely love Hayward, WI. I hope you’re there for the big log rolling event and all that goes on with that. William and I fished that area a lot….yummy Walleye!!
We still think Prairie Berry Winery in Hill City, SD has been our favorite. We loved the area and the job was fun. They had good training there and you got to do different jobs so things really didn't get old. We believe all of our jobs have been good experiences. Thank you for watching our videos and asking the question!
Thank you for watching! I believe there may be some pull throughs but to be honest, I can't really remember. It's been a couple of years since we were there.
Can't visit it anyone and technically never could as ot was breaking in, but was burned down last year if I remember right, pretty neat used to go around exploring with friends
No , actually we are headed back to Bowlin Flying C Ranch in New Mexico. It's on our workamping playlist too. Thanks for checking out our videos! We thought it was a good experience at Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground. We usually try to find different experiences but we need to make extra money this year and know we can make it at Bowlin. Thanks again! Chris and Barbara Kay
Hey there found you on RU-vid. This was a really great video. The scenery looks absolutely beautiful. I would like to visit this place sometime in the future. Thanks for taking us along. #thinbluelanervlife
Hello Darien Lake neighbors. Enjoy the FL weather. Seminole Town Center, it should be a bit warmer than The Avenues Mall in Jacksonville, FL where I was Santa eight of ten years starting in 2009. I was in Austin TX 2012 & 2013. I first saw the Big Sports Cart in the Jacksonville mall after coming back from the Austin seasons. You certainly have a huge inventory to work with. Have a fun and successful Christmas season.
Hi, we enjoy your videos. I have a question about the time you worked in West Yellowstone. We accepted a job in West Yellowstone for this summer. I am wondering how did you handle the freezing nights with your RV. What did you do to prevent your water lines from freezing? Did you have a lot of freezing weather while you worked there during the summer? Thank you for your help.
Thank you for watching our channel! Yellowstone was not that bad as far as freezing temperatures. We just made sure our low point drains were wrapped and we ran the furnace which on our rig blows warm air under the RV where the pipes are located. We also fill our fresh water tank and use our water pump instead of the hose from city water. When were in New Mexico, a little over a year ago, it got down to -12 and we made a makeshift skirting to protect the underneath of the RV from the cold winds.
They just want you to work at least 30 hours to get a free site. If they don't schedule you you can't do much about that except to try and work different departments. That is on them though. You get paid for every hour you work so there are no hours that go toward your site.
Sure enjoyed your video. We are camping at Jennings Ferry right now, another Corp park in the area. With the America The Beautiful Pass you can cut that rate for camping at Army Corp campgrounds in half. We also full time and try to stay as much as possible in Corp camps. So a $22 fee becomes $11. We have a lifetime pass as Seniors but you can buy a yearly pass for $80.00. That pass also gets you into National Parks free and half off NP camping too. Buy online or at any NP.
Thank you for watching! We do have the American the Beautiful Pass but neither of us are 62 yet so we don't have the senior lifetime pass yet. Just a few more years but we don't want to hurry it along! 😉
@@MidLifeJourney Great! many of our younger friends use their pass to get the discount rate for camping. I was hoping you did too. Not just for seniors.
12 to 15 hrs a day and 4500 an month? I know a place you can make 4000 to 5000 each in 23 days..you two would be great at doing the sugar beet harvest...🤣🤣🤣. Good to see your smiling faces, glade to here you are doing well. If you two are heading to Florida this winter maybe you can look you up. 🐕🙋♀️🙋
Not every day was 12-15 hours. Just some. We will be in Florida November, December in Sanford and 2 weeks in January in Port St Lucie. It would be awesome to see you two!
