I just bought one second hand as my first icom radio. I'm glad to know when I do upgrade to a 5100 or a 7100, I won't have to learn a whole other menu system to operate them. 73 KQ4UHS
Hello, thanks for your video & help. Please I’m trying to get my local analog repeaters in this radio. I have the CPS Open up on my laptop. I tried once but not coming ou RIGHT cause guess got them listed under wrong spot! KE8ZJN Tony
I'm a BIG Icom fan! Great Radio! Bad Design! That is NOT a bug out radio! That's BS you have to bring your drop in charger with you. You do not have an accessory that will plug into the side of the radio to charge the battery while the battery is attached to the radio.
It amazes me how many Hams have to be there when it opens. Its pouring rain for christ sake. Just wait till after lunch the rain will stop. Plus you have all day tomorrow and Sunday. But, I gotta be first!!
Great radio George Rey I've been in the pouring rain with my where others have failed and this one is held up it's not fancy but it's a true test radio icom quality built😊😊😊😊😊
I am very glad to meet you guys,i wish you could help me knowing more radiio versions and how to operate them.from the Philippines, this is 4G1MZR,handle of Fred
Always make me happy to hear how your found the local clubs and amateurs supportive. It's your "fault" I have my extra. We miss all your positive energy around here. You were/are naturally curious. We need more people to be curious.
HAM Radio to me is the Best Hobby in the entire World. And without iCOM my portable HAMventures would be just the Half of the Fun to enjoy in all kinds of WX Conditions. No Joke - no Prank . I am dead serious about that. Enuff said: 73 de Your Friend Günter, DK5ONV from southwest Germany 💯🙋♂
Well definitely not an April fools joke , she’s legit , and definitely knows what she’s talking about. Checks out on Qrz to ! Love seeing a beautiful woman passionate about amateur radio . May I suggest we clone as many of her as possible LoL , de- N2JDX
Why doesn't Icom include 222Mhz on their HT's? Yes, I know Japan nor Europe does not support the 1.25cm band but the US market certainly is large enough...just ask Kenwood.
OMGoodness, this is so funny!! This is my second podcast interview. The first was for QSO Today and it was Episode 404!! I am beginning to think this is some kind of a big cosmic joke!!! Love it!
ID-52 was released in 2020 whereas the ID-50 saw the light of day in 2023. That nomenclature is a little bit misleading, although the ID-50 is not supposed to be the successor to the ID-52. I don't even see it as an updated ID-51, it's more something unique in the middle of those HTs.
Hey Randy. I have the ic-v86 7watt. I can reach my repeater 28-30 miles away. My friend NW of me , reaches the same repeater about 40 miles away. So about 70 miles distance. Pretty cool..
Have you ever considered producing other colors except black? Honestly, what is that all manufacturers prefer black on the outer case of all the radios? Why not grey, or deep blue, or something else except black?
