Typically, white paint reflects laser beams instead of absorbing them, and therefore, it is not removed during laser cleaning. In contrast, if the door were brown, the paint would likely be absorbed by the laser and subsequently be removed. A similar principle applies to car primers, where the efficacy of laser removal may depend on its color and absorptive properties.
It is the ideal device to remove soot from old church picture, walls, sculptures I think and saving the original colour. I suppose it depends on the injustment of the laser.
Can you share what model you're using please? Are you selling the actual machine or you're just demonstrating how it works. I am seriously considering buying a laser cleaner.
Simple the paint reflects the beam. There are no absorption coefficients in the paint and hence the transverse wave length of the Laser is not absorbed and simply reflects off the paint. Elementary my dear Watson
you can change the shape to anything you wnat, as long as it fits under the working envelop of the beam, i.e., 150 x 150mm for the short focal length lens.
If my assumption is correct, the laser is able to clean the walls of soot because soot is just carbon. So the laser is vaporizing the carbon by turning it into carbon dioxide. Diamonds are made of carbon. Would this work to vaporize a diamond?
Teh boiling point of carbon, in its hydrocarbon state is probably the same temperature as buring wood. Diamond, also carbon, has a completely different structure. Its glass like finish would simply transmit the beam throu it and nothing would happen. It would be a very expensive mirror at deflecting the beam. Hope this clarifies things. Stay Safe, Leo
Nope ! There is no pressure here, no mechanically propelled fluid or any consumable being pointed at high velocity to shift contaminants. There is a match between the transmissive wavelength of teh laser radiation and the absorption spectrum of the contaminant, in this case, carbon. That is why the lowest power laser can shift the blackest carbon. Teh blacker teh better.
