This method of cutting boxes, portrayed here, is completely incorrect! Always cut away from the person's body... Find a different safety video! This vid is inviting litigation!!
Your body should not be in the path of the blade or the cut. Even if you are pulling it "towards" you doesn't mean you are in the path. Cutting "away" from yourself offers less control and stability, you still have to keep your body parts out of the path of the blade, and now you have to pay attention to other people that could be nearby. One could easily get caught up swinging their knife all the way through the end of a cut in an "away" fashion, right into the body of another person passing by.
This is a brilliant video. Very interesting the stresses on a sling if they get too far off the vertical, and the load chain as well if it's more than 10 degrees off vertical!
