Thanks for the great video. My brown wire was cut like you showed here but the trunk switch and left turn front signal light still does not work. Connecting the brown wire did fix the trunk and license plate lights . Any ideas ? I did replace the light bulb for left turn front signal light but it still does not turn on and trunk switch at driver door still does not work. Thank you.
I can’t seem to find the ripped wires I’ve been at it for a minute, I have no license plate lights or third break lights 🤦🏻♂️ hopefully this works I’ll be trying to today ‼️ after work
My trunk has been inoperable for almost 2 months. I take it to the dealer the tech says he’s thinks it’s an electrical issue but he would have to keep to fully diagnose. Decided against; out of state. I did the 1st thing I’d normally do last; check RU-vid. And here you were it worked. I tried everything! The missing part was the trunk handle. Mine doesn’t release anymore but once I moved it to the forward position to hit at the same time as the key it did work. Great job on this one!
Hi everyone, I was driving 3 days ago on the highway doing 75Mph and using my brake to slow down for traffic coming ahead (BOOM) my Electronic Stability Program (ESP) is not operative message and the warning light came on at the same time, my Cruise Control (CC) not working warning message came on too within minute or two! To make the story short, I ordered Mercedes's OEM brake switch replacement part (a common problem for the E series as I know of, maybe other models too, if they are using the same switch) for $19.95, and easy to replace DIY in 15 minutes for me! This part solved my ESP and CC problems! P.S. Make sure you are pushing on the brake paddle and HOLDING then install the new switch, NOW slowly release the paddle. This will reset the switch for your Brake Paddle Traveling Distens, ESP & CC! Happy Driving! 🙂
Google the year and model of your car and the problem that you are having. I have a 2007 E350 Mercedes. I Google for everything.😅 I'm retired and just search and read most of the day. If you'd like, I will look it up. Give me the year, model, body type, and motor. I'll search for you. Enjoy watching your videos.

I pulled mine out of my ML320 W163 2001 model two days ago ordered a new one off Amazon for $25 pulled the old one off whack. The new one in working again everything straight away easy job
The length difference is because these have a ratchet self-adjustment when installed. You could yank the old one back out to the full length & reinstall to reset the travel. Possible that could fix an issue, but usually not. If you looked at new one after installing, it would look shorter. Pushing on the new one before installing might make it set itself wrong - if so, pull hard to get it back to full length before installing. It is difficult without a helper, but you are supposed to hold down the brake pedal when inserting - for the proper self-adjust. Probably OK if you can't hold it down very far, but if issues come back, that can be why & you should uninstall, pull it out to full length & figure out a way to depress pedal while you are installing. Also, if you couldn't hold pedal down very far, check to be sure your lights come on even with very slight initial pedal travel.
Also want to add that, although the manual key fits both ways, my trunk will only open if I insert my key such that key handle is pointing toward the car (as opposed to me). Great video - thanks for the heads-up!
My Mercedes displayed EBS for two days. It was resisting going into park. Today it is not starting. Im going to try to replace the brake switch myself. Thank you
This guy was the man. He body dropped my Isuzu Amigo. He picked me up from the airport when I came out to get it. I stayed at his house while he finished a few minor things. I'll never forget him.
