New video released every Saturday morning! My Classic Car has been a weekly television program for 28 years. Dennis Gage, the handlebar madstached host, takes you along for the ride!
I grew up with these cars: '63 and '65 Chevy Impalas, '65 Galaxy 500, '69 Mercury Colony Park wagon, '70 Ford Custom 500 wagon, '75 LTD wagon, '78 LTD sedan (Green on Green!)... Somehow, the '59 Studebaker Lark just didn't fit in.
What a great interview - Larry would be 75 this year (2024) - would have been so great to see what he would have built in the last 20 years and in to the future - we all miss him
I was so fascinated when I first saw a steam engine running. It was at the Gas Works Museum in Dunedin, New Zealand. The engine was not as big as this one, but still pretty big, and the loudest noise was the clicking of a ratchet mechanism that drove the oil-pump. Another engine in there was called the "Bryan-Donkin-Booster" and had a sound like a heart-beat, of the sort you feel more than you hear it. I could imagine a bunch of Jazz musicians jamming to its groove.
The BMW turbodiesel option actually was discontinued for the 1987 model year, so it was not a "one year only option." Rick's father should have given the LSC another couple of years. The V8 made 200 hp (quite a leap forward from the '84 car's 140) in 1986 and then 225 hp from 1987 through the end of production for the 1992 model.
Great video…. Absolutely amazing cars… and my God! This guy’s got it all… what a spectacular area of the country (Woodlan d Park, CO)…to live in and drive these rare, beautiful classic cars! Just a fantastic video! Thanks Dennis and to Mike… the owner of these beauties! Would love to see some more of this collection of fine classic cars!
