1. What is the gas being formed around the zinc piece? 2. If copper is a reddish color, why is the copper forming on the surface of zinc black? 3. I put copper in zinc sulfate and after several hours, yellow cloudy precipitation formed. If no reaction is supposed to happen, what is this yellow substance? I am so confused can someone please help me 😭
Hi there, limewater is used to test for presence of carbon dioxide gas. If it is a positive test (i.e. CO2 gas is present), then a white precipitate will form in limewater. The chemical reaction that is happening in the limewater (which is calcium hydroxide) is: calcium hydroxide + carbon dioxide -> calcium carbonate + water the "white ppt" that you see is insoluble calcium carbonate hope this helps! :)
Hi , is this a large scale of a sonogashira rxn, and you are trying to get rid of the palladium using a fritted disc buchner system with the packed celite over?
Incrível! Uma reação tão simples e ninguém consegue explicar com tanta clareza o que se passa a nível subatômico! (THIS IS BRAZIL) THANK YOU SO MUCH !!
thanks for showing the titration, but you should have mention in pinned comments that end point is reached when phenolphthelein is orange, yellow indicates alkaline solution. Anyways have a good day mate!
Why doesn't copper deposit on the bottom of glass instead of depositing on Zn strip. And after Zn takes its place then how does Cu know it has to move on Zn strip, why Cu not deposit in bottom
