Hi, If i use a Gigabit ethernet port on a Thunderbolt 4 Dock ( such as OWC ) to a macbook Pro, should i be able to get a lower latency comparable to the PCIe card?
No, because the PCIe card is a Dante device which does not require Dante Virtual Soundcard. If you use the OWC dock (or any non Dante device) it will require you to use Dante Virtual Soundcard which has 8ms roundtrip minimum.

The best way to do it to do what he is describing mixing through, it’s going to be probably a little different setup depending on your DAW but the principle will still be the same. The way o do it in cubase. I have line outs of my interface into the ADC and then spdif from the ADC to the spdif in on my interface. In cubase I add an extra stereo output buss and stereo input buss. (Output assigned to the outputs I used out to the ADC, the inputs to the inputs. I then create a stereo audio track having the inputs the the ADC as the inputs of that track. Then everything else of my mix I switch the output routing to the ADC output buss. (The output of the ADC audio track I created will output to the normal stereo output you are used to monitoring from. I then activate the monitor of the ARC audio track. Once you play your audio it will be going through the ADC and you will be mixing through it like he is describing but then it’s also pre master buss so if you want to do master buss processing you can. Then once you are happy with your mix, just arm that ADC audio track and record a pass to print the mix. This will print the audio file and then you can export out of the session like normal which will apply any master buss processing you may have done

hello from france , first of all you have a beautiful voice and burl does it justice....I didn't know burl at all before I saw your video by chance and I am really impressed by the clarity and warmth of the result. Getting this material will become an obsession while knowing that the product remains relatively expensive for my means. I don't know much about home studio but I still have good ears and in terms of quality, transparency and feeling, the rendering is the best I've listened to in a long time.
