OMG I remember EllieBelly and AmberDrake from Kain! I was in Stygian clan. Blast from the past!!! Are you still playing any L2 servers? I'm currently on L2Etina and considering joining ElmoreLab for proper nostalgia.
You can tell upon your return that Harkun may not really like his job but in terms of you, he is proud despite himself. I am always kind to him upon my return. He was a good teacher of the Sith Code and the Sith way of life and my Sith Inq will be a staunch ally of his even if he does not desire it.
I did to tbh, I thanked him when I left with zash as he did do his job, and his favouritism resulted in my character having the ability to complete the final trial.
Would a legend such as yourself maybe consider to bless a fresh project by the name of ElmoreLab? C1 to C5 progressive server reconstructed from scratch by one guy just to open it for free and as close to retail as possible just with absolutely no mercy for any automation or RMT. Im just a player, but id gladly stab both me leg's like that so we can have an OG check the vibe at least :)
anyone interrested in playing on a truly free and fair server that is not set on any L2J pack or scuffed extender check ElmoreLab C1 is truly magnificent and with 4-5month per chronicle will go up to C5. One Game Client per person only. No mercy for any type of automation or people trying to sell shit for real money.
At a bare minimum, it was so outrageously wrong that 'bone face' kills the winning acolyte that I wanted to throw my keyboard. Harkun was right so it drove me insane that there was no path to say so.
the main reason that xalek gets away with killing the other apprentice in harkon office is because until the item they are is handed over to either the lord that wants the item or overseer that is in charge gets the item the trial is still going and since the final trial instructions state to use any method to obtain the objective and allows those taking it to kill openly xalek did nothing wrong because the acolyte had not turned in the item yet
If you recall, Harkun gets very upset that Xalek killed the apprentice right in front of him, implying that wasn't a valid path to win. You have the choice to tell Harkun to STFU and even kill him and take Xalek even though he's a rule breaker. Really that would be a dumb parameter to set because then someone could just put their feet up and wait for someone to come back with the item and ambush them. Like not even try and just do that, bypassing all the skill it took to get it in the first place. Lazy brute, not clever. The game gave me no choice to kill Xalek (which is what I would have done) so I took the least awful option for Harkun (he was right, imo) and never, ever used Xalek.
The ONE thing I object with Harkun is how he killed outright the light sided apprentice that tried to befriend you back in the training days. He sent her out to the tombs, she managed to return and Harkun berates her for being soft and then proceeds to kill her. I mean, if she is strong enough to survive on Korriban, she deserves to live. And Overseer should not cull the apprentices, that is what monsters, traps and other apprentices are for.
i remember you have the first video of old antharas. with the song from luna-rain and end with the song lit - over my head. can you re-upload that video?
Hm I'm not sure which one that would be. This is the only Antharas video I had, unless you count the times he showed up in the Chaos Week videos which I have posted on my channel. I don't recall using either of those songs. oh! Maybe it was the old Sightseeing video? I just uploaded that : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-61T4mAX3WvQ.html
@@Ocyla i think .. somoene else using your video and edit the music. its amberdrake POV. but with the begining scene of entering antharas lair. and killing monster walking to anhtaras until antharas wake up scene
@@Ocyla been doing good over the years. How about you? I do have my own channel here. You can see what I've been up to there. Where else after you in social media?
@@Komikino Pretty good! I had been streaming for a number of years on Twitch and tried out the classic version of L2 but it was complete garbage, so I'm off in classic WoW. You know, plus work, kids etc :) But gosh funny timing on your comment, I had just dusted off my shelves and rearranged my Ellie drawing you did! ^ ^
I never understood people who disliked him (well except racism but it is empire and Sith official politic). Those acolytes are nothing till they prove themselves worthy. And unlike Jedi Sith select the strongest to train, that is why average powered Sith would be stronger than average powered Jedi (on master level different is vague or gone completely). Harkun serves rightly to the general purpose of Sith
I was HeaRin at the time in EP. Been a long time, I havnt enjoyed another mmo after I quit L2. Maybe we can play some other games again together. Let me know
Hey! Yeah they even came out with L2 'classic' but it's literally nothing like the original, which is sad. I've been playing the classic version of WoW which IS like the original. As dumb as it sounds I wish we could play Prelude or C1 again.
Harkun is the perfect Overseer for classes comprised of aliens and former slaves. Because he has such a traditionalist mindset, he is unable to hold back his utmost contempt for them. That contempt he feels for them will make them hate him, which will fuel their power and drive their determination to prove him wrong. Or they will be weeded out as weaklings incapable of overcoming the learned helplessness that comes from being a slave or a persecuted minority in the Empire. Anyway, my female Twi'lek Dark Side Sith Inquisitor didn't kill Harkun despite his objections to her taking Xalek as her apprentice. And I figure being a female Twi'lek former slave in the Sith Empire is as low on the totem pole as you can get, which made her rise as a Sith Lord and the polite and accommodating attitude of Harkun in Chapter 2 onward all the more impressive.
Totally agree. The entire time I was like "I'll show YOU!!". I was upset the game didn't let me punish Xalek directly so I left him in my ship and did nothing with him. He wasn't even an apprentice yet, he had no place to pull the crap he did. Of course it's implied that he killed a few slaves prior to him beating down the Twi'lek who actually retrieved the quest item so I really don't know how they let him get that far. But, I play light-side mostly.
@@Ocyla I play light side mostly myself. Every character I play except for my Sith Warrior and Sith Inquisitor is Light Side. I like my Bounty Hunter to be the kind of honourable warrior that is the pinnacle of the Mandalorians... like Canderous Ordo or Din Djarin. And the headcanon of my Imperial Agent is that he was a soldier of the Chiss Ascendancy who defied a suicidal order from a Sith that ended in victory and saved lives innocent, Chiss and Imperial, so to placate the Sith but not waste a valuable resource he was transferred to Imperial Intelligence. My main being a Light Side Jedi Guardian who is pretty much Obi Wan Kenobi if he had managed to be able to remain in the Jedi Order while pursuing the romance with Satine Kryze he so obviously wanted. But the bonus there is how great of a love interest Kira Carsen is. I have always struggled to play evil characters in every RPG I have ever played... but Sith characters in SWtOR are the exception. And yet my Inquisitor couldn't bring herself to kill Harkun. I suppose she came to see how useful he is as an overseer of the kinds of acolytes she can appreciate.
@@HouseOfAlastrian When that scene came up I couldn't kill him either. He was RIGHT. They were told to run a trial to get a quest item. Xalek didn't do that, he just interrupts what's going on (which should be a paddlin' in itself), kills the rightful owner, steals it, and hands it over. I'm supposed to be ok with that? No sir. It's just a shame the game doesn't let you destroy Xalek the second he put hands on the other apprentice, because that's what my option would have been. I was pretty pissed none of the options were anything like that. I think the least worst one was blanking his mind and stealing his stuff, which I also would never do in that circumstance. Plus Harkun has been an overseer for a while and you've been in your spot a few months at most. I'd hope my head wouldn't get up my ass that fast. I wasn't about to turn into that crazy Sith chick you run into as an agent. Shoot I would have hunted HER down too! I can never really be evil either, the worst I ever did in Neverwinter Nights was like, Neutral Good. I play a punisher or guardian angel in WoW. I guard the good/neutral and destroy the evil. I do play my agent like a huge flirt though.
@@Ocyla My sith's impression of Xalek's stunt was that yeah, it was majorly against the rules, but if an acolyte can't stop someone from punching him to death, they wouldn't have made a very strong apprentice
@whiteraven562 That's one view of it. My thoughts were the school (or anything else) needed some rules or if would devolve into absolute chaos of everyone murdering each other. Granted Harkun does try to get some students to kill you sooooo yeah it's not perfect lol.
I had changed the bottom slightly since this video but I logged into the game to see my outfits. The top was Agile Judgement Vest and I changed to a skirt which was Dark Augurs Lower Robes. I believe I dyed both the blue color.
I think someone else said it as well but Harkun is literally a Sith Drill Sargeant... he takes them from worthless filth and forges those worthy into Sith.
That's funny, I liked Thanaton too. If SWTOR was completely open I would have gotten along with Thanaton just fine. I also would have killed Zash early on and Xalek the second he murdered that apprentice. But I'm a weirdo who makes friends with people I fight with (In WoW I was Alliance but had a whole friends list of Horde I fought in wpvp). Anyway as for Harkun he was the first really complicated flawed character I ran into and the game totally grabbed me because of it.
@@Ocyla he raised with not traditions but rather racism...maybe if he was borned in a making sense sith family than we wouldnt hate him...but im glad you love thanaton :) traditions needs more praise and on kallig matter he was right...because sith traditions demands if something gets corrupt you should kill its present. Past. And future...you should stop his legacy...true if he were to correct them and tried to recruit us maybe he would done much more amazing job but this doesnt changes he was right about his fight
I always choose the light side option when you finally "graduate". I may not like him, but I feel kind of bad for the guy at the end, might as well tell him he did good making me strong.
I said something nasty to him before I left the planet but when I came back I did not kill him, so he was around to see me ascend to the dark council. I typically pick light side options anyway but I agreed with Harkun on the Xalek business. Sure, Harkun played dirty, but I felt you can't let acolytes play dirty on their own, I mean, they are literally nobody at that point.
The Sith draw power from the dark side so making you feel anger and hate just boost your powers, but also makes you a jerk very often, Harkus did nothing wrong*
Yes that's a good point, he does clearly favor Ffon, not to mention Ffon was already trained and way more advanced than the other acolytes. He's also obviously a xenophobe.
He would be a good overseer if he didn't pick favorite, his methods help recruits by evoking strong emotion in them and his method weed out the weak as is asked of him, but all of his teachings goes out the window the moment he pick favorites, a cunning recruits might not be the most powerfull but might just end up being the last one alive and in turn be the ''better sith'', but if harkum ignore the recruit because he picked another one as his favorite he is in blatant ''transgression'' of the sith ways/traditions.
@@talizorahnarrayya5916 Thats what make his character great I think. He is using under handed tactics to piss you off but it also makes you strong. He prob also wants to move higher than Overseer and be important but being a xenophobe to everyone but humans keeps him low. Plus the voice actor is A+ imo.
