In partnership with Salisbury Plain Trial Enduro Adventure Bike Group. The enjoyment from riding a bike on the byways of my local area. How it all started, friends you gain, the superb views and the adventures.
The fun the injuries the memories. This channel is as they say RAW no expensive video equipment no drones (yet) it’s just a hobby. So please be nice. Most importantly LSS like share & subscribe. Job done.
I was stopped by a couple like this whilst on my quad. When i said (you are on my land ) i thought she was going to cry as i carried on done the lane to my house.😂😂😂
Hands on hips that's serious 😅 we use to get this while driving (legally) on byways in our 4x4s even having a shotgun pointed at us ,bikes thrown in front ,screaming and shouted at ,you name it we had it ,if it was illegal we wouldn't have been there but you try explaining it to these people ,educated thick people 😂
You rode pass me on your way to hackpen hill. I had stopped on my crf rally to let you and the endurance runners past. That was Sunday.... from I met a subscriber.😂😂😂 Some of what you shown I rode two days earlier...(the big chalk hill in your vid etc) love the vids as always buddy!!!👍👍👍👍
You explained that it was certain times of the year, and she accepted it and started walking away. Why did you keep pushing the point like an arsehole?
@@DM-ur8vcthank you, just imagine boot on the other foot, and I spoke to her like she did me. But I find myself having to be polite to keep the peace and not put our hobby at threat.
I don’t know who has/has not the right to be on this particular track but I have come across motorcyclists riding their trials bikes along footpaths and across moorland where they have no right to be and it f*cks me off in the extreme. This is because there are so few places in the world, let alone the UK, where motor powered vehicles cannot be seen and heard, and people can enjoy nature without having to put up with their intrusive noise and hustle. So with so many other routes where they can travel I feel that the UK’s footpaths can be reserved for feet and nothing other than feet without imposing too many constraints or curtailing the enjoyment of off road drivers/riders.
This is a legal byway that is only to be used by motorised vehicles at certain times of the year, so we were just making use of those timings, big signs saying this, she just failed to read the sign correctly, but also didn’t need her attitude when we are out enjoying the countryside too. Especially when I’m polite and say thank you to walkers, cyclists, horse riders etc etc
@@DM-ur8vc the peaks in particular have a bit of a problem with bikes being ridden illegally, but even then it's uncommon to see anyone. I wholly agree that it's easy to get away from traffic etc in the UK in dozens of areas.
these are the sorts of walkers that walk 5 miles and act like they have done 50, if they did the 50 they wouldnt care about the dust! they would know to expect you along the trail along with horses and other traffic, her poor husband too, he just wanted her to shut up and keep walking and enjoy herself
How many miles they have walked has nothing to do with it - nobody gets fewer rights by walking/riding fewer miles or vice versa: either the motorbikes are allowed on the track or they are not and if they are she can’t really complain about dust but if they aren’t then she has every right to confront the rider about why he is there in the first place let aline kicking up dust.
I used to have interesting conversations with walkers whilst mountain biking. Even had one group, who looked around a similar age as this person, walk four abreast in front of me so I couldn't pass on an old drover's road, which is a BOAT, in the Brecon Beacons. The funniest one was a guy berating me for riding down a fairly steep trail when he was walking up it. When I pointed out the trail was specifically built for mountain biking he wasn't quite sure how to react. Now I ride my Africa Twin all over the place in Nova Scotia, on single track and dirt roads, and nobody bothers me. It's great!
@@norfener Your evidence for this claim is what exactly and what has it got to do with the price of fish anyway? Just because you have arrived at the mistaken conclusion that anyone who walks has an inflated sense of entitlement does not change anything about what walkers’ entitlements actually are.
@@Stobb0 Try owning some private property with a footpath or track, then come back and tell me that. The woman shouting at the biker telling him that he didn't have the right to be their is one symptom of their 'entitlement"
@@norfener I believe you mean that it might be taken to be an indication of “her” not “their” sense of entitlement. It is both unfair and illogical to pitch in with an invective against all walkers just because one person was caught out on camera making a mistake and communicating aggressively as a consequence - I have come across plenty of instances where the bikers have been in the wrong in similar circumstances. In my experience “walkers” are all extremely respectful of the rights of landowners (the wider “public” perhaps less so) but also expect their own rights (of access) to be respected. Again, I have come across more instances of landowners apparently deliberately encumbering footpaths than of walkers engaging in wilful damage or impedance of anything. I would respectfully suggest that if you don’t like walkers enjoying their rights of access across your land, perhaps you could consider selling up and buying another plot which has no rights of way across it - you could even create a permissive path across it for motorcycles only… ?
@@DM-ur8vc No I have not made a general complaint about motorcycles but a specific one, which I have experienced several times, of motorcyclists riding their bikes on footpaths (btw I am a motorcyclist myself but I have never felt the need to take my bikes onto footpaths. But regrettably there are are in my experience, increasing numbers of bikers who think that because they have got a fancy trial bike, they are entitled to ride it anywhere they like off road, and they are well aware to that any sanctions that may exist are ineffectual and expect walkers to just get out if their way). Nor am I referring to ‘footpaths’/BOATs/green lanes/towpaths/w.h.y. as you seem to be trying to infer, only “Footpaths” which are specifically and solely reserved for feet only and not wheels, hooves, bikes, scooters, motorbikes, cars, hovercraft or any other kind of vehicle (Bridleways, BOATs, green lanes are not the same as footpaths as any landowner knows). And no I don’t think “freedom” works only one way - but a walker on a footpath has the right to enjoy the footpath exclusively without the presence of vehicles/horses/cars/ landowners/etc. whereas a motorcyclist may have the right to ride his/her bike on a number of other rights of way which may or may not be shared with other travellers thereupon, but they do not have the right to take their bikes onto footpaths. Similarly a landowner with rights of way on his/her land cannot prevent the public exercising their rights to use them but is entitled to expect the public not to stray from them (except in Scotland of course, where the right to roam is embodied in Scottish Law). Sorry to have to explain all this to you but you do seem to be a bit slow on the uptake. Enough said.
legal or not your driving a noisy polluting dusty machine ruins an attempt for people to enjoy a little peace and solitude in this frantic world. Are you that selfish?
@@DM-ur8vc except surfers don't make a shit ton of obnoxious noise and air pollution. I've been riding motorcycles for over 30 years so it's not that I'm anti motorcycle; I'm just saying have respect for the earth and your fellow humans. Try walking and find some peace and allow others to enjoy their moments of peace without hearing your obnoxious machinery
@@bywaysandbikes. yes fortunately, for the most part, they don't allow people to subject you to listening to their annoying polluting machinery while you travel on the airplane
really don’t get your negativity, you said you have been riding motorcycles for 30 years, I would argue that 30 years ago your bikes would be, 1. more polluting than the new injection bikes of today, the fuel back then wouldn’t be as green as it is today. 2. And 90s bikes would have been more noisier too. And 3 show respect, if you listen to the start of the video I thank the first lot of walkers, surely the walker is the disrespectful person here.
They can walk almost everywhere but when they are ill informed or haven't read signs correctly they read the riot act at law abiding and polite alternate legal right of way users. She and her ilk can just moan to the council and they more than likely side with her and ban you... keep being you brother, the Gent I know you are. 👍👍👍👍
Thank you 🙏🏼 very annoying, she was very angry and her attitude wasn’t very nice. I’m polite to walkers, cyclists horse riders, most are friendly but there’s a few angry, bike haters out there too
@Mrtattoo0010 it was a long day, with a fair bit of road riding, but weather held out. Just keep an eye out, we have a charity ride coming up on 21st April approx 80ish miles
Nice one!! Do you run mouse's or tubes? And if tubes what PSI. I went out the other wkend and got the dreaded puncture. Always look forward to your posts 👍👍👍👍
Hi Julian, after a number of punctures I’ve now opted for mouse’s. Peace of mind of not having to worry about punctures. Cheers hopefully see out on the trails soon.
Another great video as I've come to expect. Look forward to going out in the future with yourself on a ride (response to your last video buddy) take care and as always keep them coming 👍👍👍👍
Welcome to Ice Road Bikers, we see our intrepid biker crossing this glacial expanse on his way to Nannutukik with much needed supplies... but has are guy noticed the polar bear watching him off in the distance. Tune in next week and find out what happened..... wicked video as always buddy from "l met a subscriber episode" hope your well buddy 👍👍👍👍
Great vid, thanks. Is it possible to get the app to act like a sat nav i.e. the map keeps scrolling rather than having to stop every couple of miles to move the map in the screen to show where you are. Hope that makes sense
Yes it is possible to do that. You need to play with the compass and the red circle underneath the compass. I advise you to try it in the car to get the settings right.
... Great way to welcome the NY, big old group, but nice considerate riding! My son and I are planning some trips down to your neck of the woods after watching your vids. We were looking at parking our van in Market Lavington then striking out from there, but do you know of any good places to park there or elsewhere? Any help much appreciated. See you on the trails!
Market Lavington is only small with only a tiny public car park. Lots use Tilshead Water Tower car park, there is a video on the channel showing where that is. If your on Facebook we do have a page called Salisbury Plain Trials Enduro Adventure bike group, regular ride outs, guiding you across the plain. It’s a mine field due to areas where there is live firing
