Why does everyone think that Skullface doesn't know exactly who he's talking to? His taunting, sarcastic dialogue gives it away I think. "my my...how you've changed" "I'm sure you'll see the bigger picture eventually" " follow me... "Boss" " XOF's main objective at the hospital was to kill Big Boss, and the secondary was to capture Venom alive. When they couldn't do either, they took Quiet instead. They always knew the plan, and they wanted to get their hands on this "programmable soldier" for their own ends before he could escape Cyprus. After Venom had later assumed command of Mother Base, perhaps they managed to successfully embed Quiet amongst their ranks as a spy. They just didn't predict her falling in love with her target though, which IS funny.
Why Kojima decided to have nearly all of Kiefer's dialogue confined to cassette tapes is beyond me. Are scenes like this so stilted because they had to accommodate someone using a Mother Base soldier instead of Snake, even though he should be the only one allowed in missions like this? It's baffling.

The most utterly genius thing about Skullface’s anti-colonialist plan is that it focuses more on revenge than reparation, just like Kaz and Snake do. He fails to understand that you can’t bring back cultures or genocide victims, all you can do is pay reparations. I might by biased on account of being from America (historically a perpetrator of colonialism), but I think that Skullface’s failure to understand that reparation is more important than revenge is why his plan is evil. This game really explores revenge in a much less shallow way than most media. It tells you WHY revenge is usually not worth it.
A lot of people shit on this scene for being long and Venom not really adding anything to the speech, but I really like it due to the music. Guess I'm just easy to please.
I don't get it. Skullface hates Zero and calls him a parasite because he wants to unify the world, even though Skullface wants to do the same fucking thing?? Am I stupid or does this not make sense
Skull Face and Big Boss are people that want war and not peace because they see in the war a reason to stay alive, a purpose for their life. They are the same thing
Skull Face hates Zero because he intends to unify the world through American colonialism (the english language as a weapon to destroy cultures). Skull Face's own culture was affected by people like Zero back in the day, so he sees him as the ultimate threat.
whats funny but kinda fucked up about Skullface is it's heavily implied the entire reason he forgot his language was he stopped speaking it seemingly not realizing how useful knowing his mother tongue would be. It's kinda implied he decided to join the Allies against the nazis. It's implied the main reason he lost his language was due to his drive for power. He didn't think to keep his mother tongue as he was too busy working to make himself more then his homeland every was. Hungarian was a safe language to speak in the USSR and most likely in the west as well. Everything points to Skullface being a fool and not practicing his mother tongue.
