CTC Software is a worldwide leader in building information modeling (BIM) technologies and services. Our team of architects, engineers, and software developers work to create leading productivity tools on top of Revit, Civil 3d, and Autodesk’s Forge platforms. Custom application development and software integrations keep our deep bench of full stack developers sharp, working entirely on AEC industry solutions. CTC is a member of the Autodesk Developer Network and has been making add-ins available for Revit and Civil 3D since 2010.
@a_hoeks Revit still needs to open, which our app will do for them. Nothing actually gets processed in the cloud. The CTC Connector is only establishing a link to the Autodesk Cloud so that models can be opened automatically.
Why would the "Set all units of measure...." option not work in all families processed? The log does not say anything about it being an error or success?
I assume the answer is no, but is there a way to remove revisions from sheets but leave the clouds in the project as a placeholder? This comes up occasionally where someone made revisions but the Architect's don't want to show any info in the border but we also don't want to delete the clouds. So basically I'm asking if there a way to have an excel report save the info that can be reimported to repopulate or replicate the clouds? I know there are other ways around this but was just curious.
Thank you for your question. As it stands today, Revision Manager does not have the ability to re-create revision clouds based on an imported excel report. At best we can maintain the data that was defined so that it can be applied to the clouds once they exist. We will log this as a feature request and investigate the possibility of getting this added to Revision Manager in a future update.
Hello there. Where can I buy your label and feature line styles? I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the CTC tools after my trial is done but getting the styles will be a great help as well. it'll save me lots of time site grading.
If you want to email marketing@ctcsoftware.com we can provide you with the data sets from this webinar and you'll be able to extract what you need from it
Is there a way to select which view title type to use when placing new floor plan views to sheets or do you have to manually change them? Also, what about automating the view title location on the sheet? Can this be automated as well using this tool?
The answer to the question is, not natively that we aware of, or could find. If you use our tools there is a way to accomplish this, we highlighted an example of that in a recent webinar, “Even More Labeling Scenarios”, in which we showed a style we created in the general settings, label styles and notes which can only be applied through Label Genie and will put an elevation label where specified in the vertices settings. We would be happy to share that style with you if needed. Here is the link to that recent webinar: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WgwB6VCdCCA.html
Under the "Options" tab at the top, in its pop-up window, is there a way to make some shared parameters instance, and some type? There is only a single check box that sets all to instance or all to type.
thanks for the presentation, is there a way to overlay surfaces (one on top of another, higher or lower, slightly more to the right or left) to do multiple calculations of possible platforms and compute a massive amount of cut and fill, or remove that error which you mention, thanks in advance for your help
If you are referring to regions that is not currently something that our tool does however we are working to add Island Detection as an upcoming feature to Earthwork Processor. Should you want further assistance or more information you can reach out to our team at info@ctcsoftware.com
Also, you should edit this video with how to configure additional dials to show the additional parameter values that are already in the family. ie. Redundant Room Count
For those looking for this, first copy a dial nested family in the titleblock family. Place it where you want it to show and then just re-associate the instance parameters of the dial to the corresponding data you are wanting to show.
Shawn, firstly...excellent video (as usual). Toward the end of the video, you talk about the file path of the original file, related to updating content ("don't load files from desktop"). We use cloud based SharePoint servers to host our Revit Typical Detail library. So, each user has a local path (mirrored drive) to the same file (c:\users\dlampley\.....). But we're finding that Hive works fine as long as the File NAME is the same, and...in the case of drafting views, as long as the VIEW NAME is the same (no matter what the PATH is). So, even if I originally load from my desktop, if a co-worker in another office edits a file with the same name, and then uploads it to HIVE....HIVE UPDATES the file as one would hope, rather than just adding a duplicate or something. Hope that's helpful clarification.
Sean, I must be doing something wrong, but the guide grid I was using to check the alignment pointed out that it seems that it's not moving them exactly in the same place across all the sheets. Is there something I'm missing?
Schedule XL has a "?Name" placeholder when I try to import an excel file with an Xlookup or a filter function in it. I am unsure why including formula would result in schedules being broken.
Hi there. Usually I create my feature lines first and each one in different site and when I tried to do grading, an alert said: this feat line is not belong to this group. So how I can move them to the new group? Thanks
