Hey thanks for visiting my catalog of videos! I mostly make videos of DIY projects, especially things we've had to do to our house to make it not a sick building, and my ongoing vintage trailer projects. There's also some yoga and calisthenics here, as well as some discussions I have about Climate Change and environmentalism. I try to make these videos interesting, they're just slices of my life.
Halfway thru Part Two ! I Can't wait to see how it ends ! I have every confidence in your ability, sometimes all these old contraptions just need a good cleaning and a kick or two.
Why not use a Metabo with a mortar cutting blade. I am going to cut blocks out of an existing window as you did, but I am going to use a stone cutting blade that costs $14.00 from Walmart.
Sounds like a good plan. I didn't have an angle grinder (metabo?) back then. If you use it the standard warning to be safe applies. You might have to come from both inside and outside to get thru the full block width. Be careful about the steel lines that are more than likely inside some of the seams. That might make the metabo jump up a little if you hit one. Thanks for your comment!
Mine isn't dependent on the dial, it just comes on almost every time I start the truck. Oddly enough, if I shut off the engine and turn it back on, it tends to stop until the next start. I hate having a Ford.
Mine is doing it when i turn it to cool, not hot. I assume it is the same issue but on the other side of the spectrum...its fine with just heat. Hit the AC or MaxAC and click click click....
Wull, hold on, now that’s called entertainment dude. It’s all for entertainment sake. One bit I might test is that they don’t really need permission, yet, for creating a special that is an impersonation. Think back to the hack days of comedy when people would just copy verbatim Bob Hope routines and do them in the clubs. Like I said, it’s for entertainment value, not from a malicious place. The Tom Brady specials might have gone a bit far. But Carlin is dead so who cares what new material comes out from AI. There is a larger conversation to be had about this that this is helping to progress. Half the reason why many writes and actors went on strike right? Hats off to them.
Thanks for watching, please know this : the comedy special was not AI, that was a hoax by the comedians to get attention. I don't really care that they did it. I really enjoyed the comedy content, they're really good! Also know this, they are being sued heavily by George Carlins daughter and the estates lawyers. What I'm saying is I hope they can apologize and not get sued to bad... Have a great day
AI can't really write comedy that any of us would be interested in watching right now. It might happen in the future but that seems to be a very very very long time from now. What is happening that sucks is human writers are losing originality and creativity and the studios and producers don't care. They hire people and don't pay them well and tell them to re use material that's already been done.
I try not to be negative in my comments but this video is a waste of time. Four minutes plus for you to tell us that when your car is malfunctioning that it's best to just live with it. Are you serious? My truck has this problem and I'm looking for instructions on how to fix it which is typically what people post content for on these kinds of topics. I mean what's the point if you don't have a reasonable solution. Would you like to watch a four minute video about how my vacuum cleaner squeals without any tips for a remedy? Sheesh! That said you seem like a nice enough bloke so I wish you a good day regardless.
Well thanks for taking all that time to wish me a good day. Should you wish to rid your vehicle of the clicking noise, the part you would need to change out is this www.amazon.com/Dorman-604-252-Air-Door-Actuator/dp/B00HRHZHLQ Ford part number 73084 It is called a Blend Door Actuator. To replace it requires removal of the radio console and getting very small wrench into an incredibly tight corner by feel only. There are other RU-vid videos that detail how to do it. It's been a long time that I've lived with the clicking noise, actually no, I don't get the clicking noise. But were I to turn the dial fully in either direction I would. At one point I did take a go at this repair. I took apart my radio console and found I didn't have a small enough wrench. Put it all back together and still have the part in a box. My truck is still fully able to keep me comfortable for heating or cooling, but in the event that the blend door actuator does actually fail, I have the part and will go back in and replace it. So you have missed the point of my video, though you're welcome to your personal frustration at having chosen to watch it fully and not comprehended at all what it means. To summarize, in some cases, just because it is clicking does not mean that it has fully failed, AND in these cases if you refrain from turning the dial completely to either direction you can still get a highly satisfactory result from the part. Now I can't resist adding, everything around you is in a constant state of disintegration. You can choose when it's appropriate to replace things you want to function and when it to just let them be. Good day!
@@tkmair6559 Well thank you for your reply. Now I have wasted more time reading your response and I am wasting more time replying to it. Clearly I am a moron. My comment was a misguided attempt to let off a little steam triggered by watching your video and on just about any other given day I wouldn't have bothered. I was expecting something with content and was disappointed. That's on me. You are free to post whatever you like as long as it doesn't violate RU-vid guidelines. That said, if you put your personal feelings about your vehicle out to the world then you have to accept that there may be feedback. Just like you stated in your last paragraph, and thereby making my point for me, it's entirely a personal decision and not helpful to anyone else experiencing this problem. Anyone with enough intelligence to operate a vehicle will manipulate the controls, determine the remaining functionality, and will come to their own conclusion on how to proceed. Also the malfunction of the blend door actuator manifests itself in many different ways so the functionality will vary greatly with anyone experiencing this problem. I still maintain that your video lacks any useful content whatsoever and am pretty sure that even though I am a moron that I have comprehended what it conveys. What I have learned from your video is how you feel about your actuator, very useful. You should check out my ten minute video about my non-functioning numeric keypad on my keyboard, it's riveting. Spoiler alert: I live with it because it's a minor inconvenience and I still get acceptable performance out of the device. Good day to you as well!
You are right wasting my time at least he told you that the his truck pulled his camper 😊 from state to state how gives a 💩what a that ticking noise 😂 ??
Right, if you replaced it, it may still be clicking because it's out of alignment. You have to set the AC controls to a specific place before you remove and replace. I don't have the info (sorry!) But some other RU-vidrs about it do. If your AC is working good, why not just don't turn it all the way to the clicking part. It'll still do the job. Thanks for your comment
Lifted and also moved over 20 buildings in the past decade. Always overengineer it. Take the time to learn span tables, structure weights and tension forces you will be working with can be discovered with some measuring and a few days of research. The way you did it is OK but it's better to add wide steel plates at least 1/2" thick but 3/4" is better and put them between the top of your jack and the wood. also handyman (widowmaker) jacks will also work if you lay a 2x6 sideways and in the middle of another parallel 2x6 making a "T" shape and then place the top of the T against the building and jack from the bottom of the T and be sure it runs most the way up the wall. this will allow you to pinpoint specific areas of leaning. also helps to canterlever the beams if possibly and be sure to watch for joist sagging. Be sure to place cables and or chains and cable winches or turnbuckles inside usually forming "X" patterns going crrossways from top to bottom and side to side inside the building to keep it from trying to rack or bow on ya.
Thank you for all these suggestions from your long experience. I am about to begin what I hope is the final stage. It's been sitting half done for a couple years. Over the next couple weeks I'll raise it from the 2 center steel ibeams, shore up the end supports (have moved due to water expansion contraction cycles), then set down over the end supports. Then will be inserting 2x6 wood inside the C-beams that are current insufficient strength foundation joists. Will add some joists to joist sisters too. Finally will set it down on all 5 supports (there's 2 ends, 1 center and 2 at 1/4 and 3/4 distance). Wish me luck, I do have a friend assisting this time.
Brilliant idea, I wonder if it would make sense to have a duct bringing in attic air (with a filter) which would then remove the hot attic air and suck in cooler air via soffits. 2 birds one stone kind of thing.
Mine has not leaked since the repair. I think been over 2 years now. Honestly the worse part about owning an arrowhead faucet is the proprietary size changer to get a normal garden hose to attach to it. Those used to be only available for sale by Arrowhead for 35 bucks or more and came as some kind of "pressure relief" attachment. Utterly ridiculous piece of unnecessary clutter. Then a simple size changer (brass) became available in Amazon.con. I'm not sure if you can still get one though.
@@tkmair6559it prevents backflow. Vacuum breaker I believe it is called. I think it's for code. Could save you money for repairs if dirt was to flow back into the home. Problem is they fail and pros will snap that screw off making it permanent. It is pointless unless you leave a hose connected to the faucet with the valve open and pressure in the line. I.E. if you use a hose sprayer and don't turn the faucet off like me. Pros and cons I guess. This was a great video and I'm sure it helped many people including me. Thank you
Dude... Thanks, seriously. I feel pretty dumb after trying to replace the $40 anti siphon dealio, then getting a pretty useless shut-off valve to "block" the leak, and all I ended up having to do was to replace the 69 cent washer. I was a bit weirded out by shutting off my water supply at first, as I have a well and a booster pump... But the reality is, EVERYBODY needs to know how and where to shut their water off in case of a major water home disaster. Anyway, leak is fixed. Thanks for making this video. Leak was pretty bad and washer was the culprit. My well refill pump had been working extra hard. All good now.
Yeah man that anti siphon thingee is totally useless and a blatant money scam by using proprietary sizing. I was able to get a NON siphoning brass size changer on amazon.con a couple years ago. If I can find it again, I'll add a link for it to this videos description. Thanks for your comment!
It leaks for a bit because it's made to empty the copper pipe so it doesn't freeze, expand and bust in freezing weather. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5h0th7msDIY.html
Thank you thank you thank you! My elderly mother has one of these faucets and it was doing a slow leak until it finally let go and was flooding her yard. A quick trip to Home Depot for the washers and 20 minutes later she was right as rain. $3 fix that would've been a $500 plumber visit otherwise.
Just watched this video, and I'm curious how the pine tar has weathered over the past year. Like you, I have a utility pole that I own that's lost its outer layer of tar/creosote. The wood is starting to oxidize along the top-half (above ground) of the pole. I'm considering trying to lengthen its life by adding a new layer of protection.
Had a chance to take a good look a couple days ago. In great condition. The wood is dark black, but that shiny glaze is not as much. I think the coating will add at least 8 years. After that it won't look as good but it'll still be a sound service pole even longer.
All you have to do is jack camper up slightly off rails and raise to right height. Replace sub floor and reframe walls. Take weight off jacks. Ur done. Now comes finish. Do these things all the time. Have fun buddy.
Thanks for asking. It's doing great! I made mine with a concrete base, as wet dirt was the place that rotted out the old post. With that, if you're painting some fence posts make sure you're not wasting your effort if the ground point is already going out...
Thanks very much for the video. I had the Danco part on hand and it fixed the problem! Had I stumbled on this video before doing lots of research at Arrowhead for rebuild kits and stems, I would have saved hours!
Every one of these types of projects seem to be totally unique in their own way. I have 2 small pole barns that are sinking and crooked that i want to try to take down and make one level barn out of. Have been researching but haven't found someone doing the same thing. I figure if i jack the better of the two up so theyre square and brace the hell out of them, i can cut it off at ground level and try to move it with a car trailer to flatter ground. Then take the other barn appart and use the good pieces to finish up the one i move. Maybe i can talk my girlfriend in to video taping it for me so i can post it up on here in case anyone is dealing with something like i am. I learn a lot from you guys on here! Thanks for posting some advice for us all!
Awesome! Glad I found your videos! Go and check out smzeus . c o m! I’ve been using it to help grow my Instagram, you could use it to promote your channel.
It's still working. To operate well and safely, I think having a newer control module is pretty important. That's the part the propane intake line goes into and it includes controls for and lines out to the pilot light and it controls when the main fire lights. The other parts, pipes, burner, heat fins/tubes don't really go bad... though if they're dirty, rusty or dusty they can smell bad when burning. The old systems are just solid hunks of metal so there's no plastic parts to crack or corrode.
