Fun fact. Mine was just acting haywire. Would not hold timeset. On a whim I check the 9v backup battery and it was at like 0.19v. Probably shorting and confusing the unit. Removed battery and it worts fine.
I have a question I have this stereo too by any chance when u put all 3 discs in do u get like a line scratch down ur cd shiny part after changing cds wile using? Cuz mine does that I’m kinda worried
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 well it’s not like as much as a line scratch but I noticed it’s kind of like a very faded type line scratch I don’t know if maybe that’s probably due to the trays sliding in and out when changing because I checked my stereo now this morning and there is no bent trays
4 years later and the USB port of the retron5 controller broke, so I was suffering as f*ck to discover, how the heck I come back to main menu using a regular SNES controller... THANKS YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!!! YOU SAVE MY A*S TO BUY ANOTHER RETRON5 CONTROLLER!!!
@@christronicsdereksrandomness36 Yep! More specifically, this is a Seiko Instruments Inc. clock radio/cassette recorder (model number CRX101), likely from the late 80s or early 90s.
@lyndabenefiel6562 I think you'd press and hold prog/timer (button that has a clock symbol) till the display flashes and use the forward and back buttons to adjust, then press the prog/timer button again to confirm. And I think the unit has to be on standby to set the clock.
I bought two of these, both used. the first one i bought would not play the radio. i unplugged it, it sat for a month, then the radio played. after that the radio would not play again. i bought a second one that worked when i got it. they have excellent sound. i plugged into an aux port, and the radio never worked again. I like these, but they are old and at this point im done buying units in hopes that one will work. seem delicate at this age. like a few of the others, i took out a bunch of screws and could not get the top off the thing. good grief what a hassle.
@ELPCOTILLION-SD1970 Ya, considering theres enough numerals on the lcd to show a clock, they should've just had it made to show a counter for time elapsed.
@shishaa You can if youve got one of those cassettes for the car where the other end is a 3.5 mm jack. Or a newer version of those where its just the cassette adapter that's got bluetooth on it.
i bought one used. same exact issue. no sound from radio. i unplugged it. set it aside. 2 weeks later i plugged it in and it worked perfectly. unplugged it to move it and now it doenst work again. a great radio when it worked.
Can't stand cassette players. Used to eat my tapes all the time. I bought the same tape over and over again back in the 80's. Hell with that nightmare. Cd's are better in every way..
Unlike the now-discontinued Sony CFD-S70, this new Onn boombox includes Bluetooth input from cellphone or other digital music device, though not Bluetooth output. Vwestlife's review indicates the cassette playback is alright, recording is adequate (about the same as the CFD-S70 except it has aggressive automatic-level control), tuner and CD performance is good. The Onn unit looks like a decent option for a brand-new boombox as the Sony is out of production.
