Неплохо исполнено, но плохой звук не позволяет насладиться. А также сопрано заглушают все остальные голоса, и в части 'in voce tube' очень плохо слышна полифония (как и во всём произведении в целом)
I too have sung this song. What an opportunity is seeing such a sacred piece of music. This music was given to the composer.by HIM, a loving Heavenly Father who wanted Randall to have it. What a blessing to the world..
Brilliant arrangement, and beautifully done! One thing that I missed was some sort of simulation of the stunning orchestra drop-out and sudden a cappella in the third verse of the original. I was hoping that would be replicated by having the piano stop, and/or the original harmonies from that moment. Still, lovely!
We never performed this while I was under clausen’s direction, but I LOVE this video. It captures his nudges. His flicks. His winks. All the non-verbal yet not at all “official choir directing techniques” ways he communicated with us. He is a fish in water. He has taught us to understand his moves. He’s is DANCING, and his joy is palpable. It’s a reciprocal loop of MAKING music. He would nudge and we’d remember the dozens of times he reminded us of something (likely with a multi-layered effect, so we could know where we were in the piece AND the intonation AND pronunciation AND emotional landmarks. He was a master of music, and my first regret of leaving the BM.M.ed program was that I never got to take a course where he could teach me his ways. I don’t think I could be more proud of having sung under him if anyone paid me.😂
That was nice. A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away (in other words, my high school days) we performed this song. Our director studied under Paul Christiansen and brought a lot of the Concordia, Moorhead music to our high school. Many of the Christian based songs that we sang are no longer allowed at my former high school. A community choir I was in also performed this song and I’m working on a solo arrangement for my church. Meanwhile, keep up the good work.
This is a choir that exhibits true discipline. They've truly absorbed what their fine director has taught them. They should be proud of themselves. They're comparable to the Robert Frost choirs!
