@@ktwebbdevil Got it thanks, was that the 3 night's at the Fox, if I remember correctly I took my wife to see Skynyrd for her first time, the only tickets I could get was the last row in the balcony, and I still was able to get her a drumstick. My big sister took me to see Skynyrd in 73 without my mom knowing, thanks big sister, I was 13 years old. I don't have Ronnie's, but have all the members autographs, some multiple times, Gary gave me 4 picks at the 87 tribute tour, and artimus Pyle signed a drum head and give it to me the 2nd night, I was slick I could get something Everytime I saw them since the 87 tour. I Saw them 73, 74, 75, 76, and was at the Fox the 3RD night of the live album. When they started the RCB I never missed a show. got to shake Gary's, and Ed's hand when they played 96 Rock softball game, I actually caught a foul ball Van zant's father fouled, the only one I got to sign it was Leon, the game ended and they left. I'm a forever Skynyrd fan.
Wow! What a great tribute. Everyone brought their 'A' game on this night. They did the band's legacy proud. Johnny ... Your brother must've been smiling' down on you this night and I suspect you 'looked up' then and many, many times since.
Yes everyone agrees but that wasn't reality and I felt it was disrespectful to Gary and the others like Ed,Leon,Billy,Artimus who all at one point took part in continuing Ronnie's music as he would have wanted.
Much closer to the original by Memphis Minnie & Joe McCoy. It still pisses me off how many songs Led Zeppelin STOLE and passed off as their own, I barely listen to them anymore - ASSHOLES!
I remember watching this on Pay per view. I also taped it from the radio broadcast. It's a shame that their new music with Johnny didn't get the airplay it deserved, it holds up well to the original bands material.
Listen to Ed King commence that solo. He must have been thinking, "Not a bad gig. Maybe these southern rockers won't notice that I really want to hook up with Becker and Fagen."
Um...how do I say this...right from the get go, his voice screams...I'm cool, check me out. Ouch. Then there's Ed King's Steely Dan flavored guitar solo. Really, the whole vibe is kind of like...yeah, we're all here to keep...somethin' goin'. Maybe...just to keep... I don't know.
